hi welcome back to finally revealed in this episode I want to talk a little bit more about powers of attorney before you sign a power of attorney you want to read it carefully you want to make sure that what you are allowing someone else to do is what you really want them to be able to do that it is limited in time if it is for a particular transaction that you have clear instructions on how it's going to be terminated that you know who it's going to be used with and how it's going to be provided to that other person or company so that they know this person has your authority and that you otherwise understand the consequences of what they can do for you on your behalf if it is for borrowing money is there a limit do you want there to be a limit if it is for them to market and sell property have you specified the terms that they can do this for you and on your behalf it's one thing to give a power of attorney when you are going to be on an airplane over an ocean and someone needs your signature which anymore those types of things can be done electronically so you want to make sure you really need someone to have your power of attorney and that it's sufficiently limited in scope or in time or in circumstance so that you are not going to now be responsible for something that you don't want to be these examples apply when it's a power of attorney when you are just not available or it's more convenient or helpful for someone else to take a piece of something and finish it for you this information is for those particular purposes that does not apply for a durable power of attorney situation or when there is you are going into surgery and something might happen where the outcome is unknown nothing else could happen that will keep you away for from your affairs for a period of time that you just can't get there herbal power for attorneys have different circumstances I'll cover those in another video but this is when you are of sound mind able body and it's just a per occurrence situation I just want you to be careful and understand what you're signing because this person once you give them authority they can within the four corners of that document and whatever language it allows them to do they can do with your full authority and they won't be responsible for whatever they're doing with that power of attorney you will be alright I hope this is helpful if it was give me a thumbs up leave any comments that you have our questions below share this with someone who may need it subscribe to see the other videos check out our website finally revealed calm and come back and see me next time thanks for watching
