How can i industry sign banking ohio form easy
next we're going to complete the dealer application and this is four four three two zero you know we have one of the longest dealer license applications in the country so we are going to spend some time on this application the dealer application has to be completed correctly and in its entirety so mistakes on your dealer application can definitely lead to delays in the approval of your dealer license so you want to make sure that you are completing this form correctly and you can download this form at the auto dealers Ohio gov website so let's take a look at the first page of this application and I'm gonna magnify the screen so you can see the information a little more easier let's take a look at the first question box at the very top the BMV wants to know if you are a manufacturer of Motor Vehicles manufacturers of Motor Vehicles are prohibited from holding retail dealer licenses the United States has what is known as a three-tier manufacture system where a vehicle manufacturer like say for example chevrolet must sell the vehicles they make to a franchisor like Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet and then Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet sells the vehicles to the retail customer this three-tier system prohibits manufacturers like Chevrolet Ford Nissan and Toyota from opening their own dealerships so if you are not a manufacturer you will check YES on this first question but don't check yes you know if your Henry Ford the fourth you know but only check yes if you are not a manufacturer and then you will be legally eligible to have a retail dealers license the next question wants to know if you or your spouse is a veteran and if your your spouse is a military veteran the BMV will expedite the approval of the dealer license if you or your spouse are a veteran make sure to enclose your dd-214 discharge papers if you or your spouse are not veterans just check no and you should still receive your dealers license in about four to six weeks veterans how ever get there's a little bit quicker because their applications are expedited next you're going to see these four boxes and you will only check one of these boxes the BMV wants to know what the majority of your sales will be whether it is used Motor Vehicles use motorcycles use all-purpose vehicles or use trailers so you will only check one of these boxes to let the state know what the majority of your sales will be in the next dealership information section you will enter your registered name and your fictitious name or trade name let's say for example your Ohio Motors LLC doing business as Columbus Auto Sales well you would enter Ohio Motors LLC in the business name registration space and Columbus Auto Sales in the registered or fictitious name space now these names that you enter also could be the same so let's just say for example your Columbus Auto Sales and you're doing business as Columbus Auto Sales well you can enter Columbus Auto Sales here and then Columbus Auto Sales down here the fictitious name as well but if you have a corporate name that is a separate named entity you would put the registered corporate name up here always remember your fictitious or trade name is basically what you are doing business as and that's the name your customers will always recognize us so be sure also to enter the date that you registered your business to entities with the Secretary of State and I'm going to show you how to do that later on in this course now you'll enter your exact dealership address and this must be a physical address to show the BMV exactly where your dealership is located in a repeal box if you have one the county and city and etc and then enter your business phone number right here okay and I want to remind you this phone number must match the number that you have posted on the front of your building and this is the number which you will always answer in your dealership name this is your official dealership phone number you can also enter an alternative number like maybe a spouse's cell phone make sure and interact information correctly and also enter an email address that way the BMV can contact you say for example you know the dealer online licensing systems down or something like that our changes to temporary tags will cover those here in just a little bit now you're going to enter your federal tax identification number and also your vendors number and I'm going to show you how to get both of these numbers a little bit later in the course do not submit your dealer license application without these two numbers or the state will not issue your dealer's license then you're gonna enter your bond carrier your bond number and the expiration date of your bond remember you may never let your bond expire during your license your period your bond must always be in effect on the next page of your dealer license application you will need to initial the top box right here that says you have completed your dealer training course and the course completion date that you enter right here needs to correspond with a certificate of completion that you will download at the end of your dealer training course and right over here to the right see where says course provider number you'll need to enter this course provider number correctly which is C p zero zero zero zero zero two did you get that it's CP like course provider zero zero zero zero zero - so it's C P followed by five zeros and then a two and your course provider number will also be on your certificate of completion and it's also on the front of the dealer manual that you downloaded at the beginning of the course so the next section right here basically explains your fingerprints which we've already covered but I want to bring your attention down here to the business into deep box okay I want you to be aware that the business entity that you have decided for your dealership will determine the title of each owner so say for example you are operating your dealership as sole proprietor you would check sole proprietor here and then on your title you would be a sole proprietor and then you would enter your name address that your home address your social security number telephone number and also that you have completed your fingerprints and the date that you have completed your fingerprints now if you're operating your dealership as an LLC then you would be clicking on you would check LLC and each person who's on the license will be referred to as a member okay so each person whose name on the license would be a member and by the way you can be a single member LLC if you want that as a lab or you might choose to operate your dealership as a business trust and if you're a business trust then each of the owners is referred to as a trustee so you would check the trustee box on each person's name that appears on the application or maybe you're gonna run your new business as a partnership and if that's the case then each person whose name is on the license will be referred to as a partner okay now finally if your dealership is a corporation then you will need to check which of the owners is going to be the president which of the owners is the vice president and on the next place you'll need to designate the treasurer and the Secretary of the corporation so so basically your business entity will determine the title of each person whose name appears on the license but before we continue I want to read this very very important statement that you see right here right here it says I as an authorized representative of the business entity or so proprietor to the best of my knowledge and belief acknowledge responsibility for any misrepresentations on the foregoing information in the subsequent statements in this application and any additional documents as applicable so everything that we're stating here is true and correct and I want to remind you we can never put false information on a dealer license application number one that would lead to the revocation of your dealers license and you could be charged with a misdemeanor so you wanted aware of that first question does the business listed on the application have a net worth of at least a $75,000 remember have we discovered discuss the net worth just a little bit ago do not check yes unless it is true okay so next on question 2 have you secured your $25,000 dealer surety bond obviously you have to have your bond and then the BMV also wants to know if you have an ownership interest in another motor vehicle entity so maybe you own a detail shop or a repair shop or a towing company or maybe even a car wash the state wants to know if you own another motor vehicle entity and this is not a problem it doesn't bring up any red flags or anything like that but the state wants to know if a dealer owns another business that involves any motor vehicles then the state wants to know if you or partner have ever applied for a dealers license an auction item or even a salespersons license in the past and if so you'll need to enter your business name the date the type of license and the permit that you were issued that permit number then the state wants to know if you've ever had a dealer's license suspended or revoked in the past and also if you've ever been involved in a fraudulent act that involves motor vehicles and at the bottom of this page you're being asked if you've ever rolled back odometer so hopefully you haven't obviously that's a big no-no this in this industry but you certainly want to let the state know if you've ever rolled back odometers on the next page and question number 9 what's to know if you are currently being sued over a motor vehicle transaction and the lawsuit is still pinning so if you currently have an unresolved lawsuit against you involving a motor vehicle the state wants to know about it next on the established place of business section you will need to initial that yes you are aware that your building must meet all local zoning requirements and your lot must meet all local zoning requirements as well now we're going to choose our lot size so remember if you're selling more then 10 retail vehicles at a time you're gonna need to have a lot that's at least 3500 square foot or larger and that's the large lot requirement but if you're selling less than 10 vehicles at a time then you can have sufficient space for 10 or less vehicles and that's referred to as the small lot so so where says established place of business meets the requirements of well you will enter a if you have the large lot and you will enter B if you have the small lot don't enter a and B enter only a or B on question C the state wants to ensure the main focus of your building is the operation of a motor vehicle dealership so let's say for example you have a repair facility the state wants the repair facilities to support the operations of the dealership the state does not want you to open a small little dealership that supports the operation of some huge massive repair facility they want to make sure the dealership is the main focus of your business building question D is asking if you have physical separation between your office and your lot from any other business or customer parking remember we must have that physical separation that we discussed a little bit earlier between our business and our display lock next I want to explain question Eve if you have a repair facility that is owned by each person on the dealer's license the repair facility would be considered the same business and the state will actually allow a door from your office that leads into the repair facility however if the repair facility is owned by someone who's not on the dealer's license well the state considers that a separate business and you could not have a door that leads from your office into the repair facility so if you have a repair facility that is owned by each person on the license that's considered the same business then you can check yes on question question Eve the next question wants to know if you are sharing the building with another license motor vehicle dealer and this is not the norm normally you may have one two or three persons on one license but the state does allow up to two dealer licenses in one building and if that's the case then each dealer would need their separate 180 foot square office square foot office in that building they would also need separate entrances separate display Lots separate scientists separate bones separate bonds separate records but if you are sharing the building with one other licensed dealer then you're going to need to also submit BMV form four three four seven next let the state know if the building you're using has ever been used as the dealership in the past and then the state wants to make sure that you have an office with at least 180 square feet and there it says you've got to have at least one desk at least three chairs in at least one filing cabinet and obviously don't check yes unless that is true and on the next page at the very top the state wants to know if you have a sign with the entire registered business name in letters that are at least six inches higher larger okay so make sure you got your sign and next you're going to enter your hours of operation be sure the hours you enter here match the hours you have posted on your building and remember these are our official hours that are on record in Columbus and we would need to be staffed by either an owner partner or a licensed salesperson during these hours and then don't forget your photographs remember you need a picture of your lot the physical barriers so a separation between your lot and any other business and business customers parking the inside and outside of the office the sign with the registered business name the posted hours the posted phone number and don't forget to take that picture from across the street showing your entire operations however you can enclose all those photographs in your dealer license application packet that you're mailing or you can email them and once again this email address is dealer photos at DPS Ohio gov remember you need to email your photographs if emailing to dealer photos at DPS not gov with the dealership name and Counting in the subject line but next I want to bring your attention right down here to the subtotal fee that you see here which is listed at two hundred fifty four dollars and seventy five cents that is the fee you pay for your dealer's license and that includes your one main dealer license plate as well if you want to order additional dealer plates you certainly can do that and as you see the charge there is ten dollars and twenty five cents apiece now the only time you can choose the number of dealer license plates you are ordering is the very first time that you're applying for your dealer's license as you can see at the bottom of this page here the BMV will count the number of vehicles that you have sold in one year and that will determine the number of dealer plates that you can receive the following year so as you see here if one year you have one to ten sales the following year the maximum number of dealer plates that you can obtain would be two if you sold eleven to twenty five vehicles one year the next year you can get three dealer place twenty six to forty nine sales would lead to four plates the following year fifty to ninety nine would lead to five place the following year a hundred of 250 would lead to ten place if you ever sell more than 250 vehicles in a year then you can have an unlimited number of dealer license plates so in this box right here you will need to initial that yes you are aware the number of vehicles sold each year will determine the number of dealer plates you are issue of the following year so you know if you had a really slow year one year you could actually end up with less dealer license plates the following year so you definitely need to be aware of that final page of your dealer license application I want to read straight from the dealer application ok it is understood that at the discretion of the register R which is the BMV a physical inspection will be performed by BMP investigations prior to or after the issues of the license and at any given time during the period that the license is held I understand that the license location fails to meet any of the requirements or fails t
maintain compliance it will be immediately referred to the motor vehicle dealer board for possible suspension and revocation so I'm going to talk about the dealer board here in just a little bit and also if you are ever changing your phone number your business hours your owners or anything like that as a states right there you must notify the state within 15 days it also says right here I affirm that the Motor Vehicles owned by this business will be insured or have other financial responsibilities coverage and will not be operated without financial responsibility coverage and will not be used as commercial vehicles and less registers so if we're going to talk about dealer insurance here just a little bit when you're signing this application you are promising the state that all of your demos and service vehicles will be insured so finally as it says there is an authorized representative of the business entity or sole proprietor acknowledge that all the information in the foregoing application and any additional documentation is true and correct so you must make sure that all information is true and correct and before you're seeing sign your dealer application as you see this does need to be notarized so you can take this down to a dealer option or a bank to have it notarized in fact now the state of ohio does allow online notarization so if you have a webcam you can actually have documents notarized online so make sure you are in front of a notary before you sign your dealer license application if you're gonna mail your application you can mail that to the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles dealer licensing section that's going to be a P o box 165 to 1 Columbus Ohio 4 3 2 1 6 - 6 521 or you can actually handle it for this and they are located right off of I 70 just west of downtown Columbus and that address is the Ohio Department of Public Safety 1970 West bright Columbus Ohio 4 3 2 2 3 - 1 1 0 1 and you know at the end of every single one of our units I'm going to go ahead and do a rip review of that unit so you'll always know exactly what we have learned in that unit so in unit 1 the first unit of your dealer training course we have learned that in order to obtain a dealer license you must complete an application you're going to need to get electronic finger press you've got to have that business building and display lot you have to have your sign with your registered business name you're gonna submit photographs and maintain business hours we're gonna maintain records and we have to have that net worth of at least $75,000 and submit a $25,000 dealer surety bond you have to get your vendor number register with the Secretary of State complete that I nine employment eligibility form for each person on the license and these future employees you're gonna need to obtain your federal employment identification number you take your dealer course you get your license and then the BBB comes out and does that law inspection that we talked about just a couple of moments ago you know I want you to be aware that while you are logged into the learning management system obviously you are not allowed to fast forward through these videos however at any time during or after you complete your dealer training you can view all the videos in this dealer training course simply by visiting Ohio dealer comm once again s Ohio dealer Capcom click on the course videos link that you see there and you can easily view any video in this course and at that time you can fast forward through the videos to find the subject matter that you would like root to review and you can easily do that at Ohio dealer.com
