REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ISSUANCE OF TEMPORARY VISITOR’S VISA TO THE PHILIPPINES ( for Tourists and Businessmen ) A. Temporary Visitor for Pleasure 1. Duly accomplished visa application form. Application must be filed in person; IF APPLIED BY MAIL, APPLICATION FORM MUST BE NOTARIZED. (note : Self-addressed stamped envelope with sufficient security postage is needed for return of passport. For fast delivery of passport, priority mail, xpresspost or any courier services are recommended. The Consulate is not responsible for passport / documents lost in the mail.); 2. Passport should be valid for at least six (6) months beyond the intended stay in the Philippines; 3. Round-trip or onward air ticket or confirmed travel itinerary; 4. Evidence of financial capacity for those traveling for pleasure may be required, or a letter of guarantee from the firm sponsoring the trip for those traveling for visa; 5. One (1) passport-size photograph ( 50mm x 40 mm) colored or black and white with plain white background showing clear front view (full face) of the applicant; 6. Payment of visa fee of C$34.50 for single entry valid for **three (3) months, C$69.80 for multiple entry valid for **six (6) months or C$103.50 for multiple entry valid for **one (1) year. Payable in cash, money order or certified cheque payable to the Philippine Consulate General. Personal cheque is not accepted. (** Please note that the periods stated above refer to the validity period of the visa and NOT the period of stay in the country. The authorized maximum period of stay in the Philippines - for holders of temporary visitor’s visa - is fifty-nine (59) days per entry into the country. If the applicant wishes to stay beyond 59 days, an application for extension of stay must be filed at the Bureau of Immigration in Manila, or the Immigration Office nearest to the place where the applicant is temporarily residing.); 7. Other documents that may be required by the Consular Officer; 8. For unaccompanied alien minor below fifteen (15) years old, neither accompanied by nor joining a parent in the Philippines, they should file an application of the Waiver of Exclusion Ground (WEG) for approval of the Head Supervisor, Bureau of Immigration at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), subject to the following conditions: a) Submission of an affidavit of consent and support notarized by a Philippine foreign service post from either or both parents for the minor to travel unaccompanied to the Philippines; b) Submission of a photocopy of the data page of the minor’s passport and traveling companion; c) Payment of Philippine Peso 3,120 immigration fees immediately upon arrival at the port of entry. Temporary Visitor for Business (Aliens attending international conferences or conventions in the Philippines, business meeting or bona fide businessmen) 1. Requirements 1 to 7 under Item A; 2. A letter of certification identifying the applicant as bona fide businessmen or letter of invitation to an international convention or business meetings in the Philippines; B. VIOLATION OF THE PHILIPPINE IMMIGRATION REGULATION CONSTITUTES BASIS FOR DEPORTATION. VIOLATION OF A LIMITATION OR CONDITION UNDER WHICH THE ALIEN ADMITTED, AS NON-IMMIGRANT SHALL BE PRIMA FACIE PROOF OF UNDESIRABILITY. VISA WILL BE RELEASED AFTER 48 HOURS FROM THE DATE OF FILING PROVIDED DOCUMENTS ARE IN ORDER. NOTE : EXEMPTED FROM SECURING VISAS ARE : • Canadian citizens whose stay in the Philippines will not exceed twenty-one (21) days. They are however, advised to have a confirmed round-trip airline ticket or an onward ticket out of the Philippines and a passport with more than six (6) months validity at the time of their entry to the Philippines. Balikbayan – Former Filipino citizens holding foreign passports; or Filipinos who have been continuously out of the Philippines for at least one (1) year; or Filipino overseas contract worker including spouse and children traveling with them are entitled to a visa-free stay in the Philippines for one (1) year. Former Filipino citizens are however advised to bring along with them proof of the former Philippine citizenship such as old passport or birth certificate for presentation to the Philippine immigration officer upon arrival in the Philippines.
