Professional Employer Organisation (PEO) is not a commonly used terminology in Australia or the Asian countries where I've worked in. Having said that, we have some similar models such as HR outsourcing or HR shared services.I'm interpreting your question in this manner: I perform HR work at a PEO company and now I wish to move into an in-house HR role. How do I do this ?I don't think this will be too hard as you will have already acquired some HR experience from the PEO.You will simply focus your efforts by applying only for in house HR roles. The work you perform now will be relevant for in house HR roles which have a high degree of HRIS administrative, payroll and compliance functions. If you have certain HR-centric IT systems knowledge, then make sure that's well covered in your resume. Is it ok for employers to pay you late? I get paid the first of every month but the payroll clerk is away on vacation & premade
I’m here to say two things.All the other people who said it’s not okay — they are right.Years ago, when I was first tasked with doing payroll, my boss told me one thing, and I lived by it for many years, and would again: “Jared, no matter what you do during the week, always pay your help on Fridays.” — Of course, our pay periods ran every Fri - Thurs, with payday every Friday.I got to somewhere between 150 and 200 consecutive Fridays before I handed the job of payroll over to my assistant.I got a call one Friday, from my mother, telling me that it was time — for me to come to the nursing home — because my beloved Granny was dying. I was not yet done with payroll. I called my boss and told him I would have to leave early, but I promised to get payroll done before I left. He wouldn’t have accepted it any other way, and I stayed there doing payroll, thinking about my grandmother, until it was finished.You don’t need a payroll clerk to do payroll. If I know you make $15/hr and worked 40 hrs, then I know your gross pay is $600.00. Believe it or not, you can manually figure out FICA, federal withholding, and federal and state unemployment tax amounts. Not that I would.I would grab a sheet of paper from the printer and a blank check. I’d write on the piece of paper that I knew I was paying you more than I owed you, and I’d write that you knew that I was paying you more than I owed you. The reason is because you owed for federal withholding and FICA (Social Security and Medicare). In order to be able to pay you on time, we are entering into an agreement where you give me permission, next week, to deduct from your next paycheck the amount of fed w/h and FICA that you did not pay this week. In exchange for allowing me to do that, I’m giving you a payday advance, this week, in the amount of the fed w/h and FICA you owe, that you aren’t paying, and that you will pay me back for next week.If you agreed to that simple arrangement, then we’d both sign it, and I’d stick the little contract into your employee folder.Then, because I’m kind — no, really, because I don’t have a choice, because I’m too lazy manually to figure your fed w/h and FICA deductions — I would hand-write you a check for $600.00 and send you on your way.As long as it wasn’t the last day of the year or something, I could just treat the entire check as an advance, and process your payroll next week.It’s no big deal.Changes to your schedule are irrelevant, even if you were the one who made the changes.By federal law employers must post in conspicuous places when you should expect to get paid. That is not required to be posted because employers have flexibility in when they pay you.File a complaint with HR. Deal with it internally. You are actually doing the business a favor by reporting this, and by reporting it through internal channels. No, I don’t think you should report it to the Feds — not at this point.However, you should be protected from retaliation from your superiors, because you’re basically a whistleblower. If they did this to you, then they’ve probably done it to others before.I guarantee that payroll clerk is not the only person in the business who can sign a check, and if that’s the truth, that’s a terrible business policy.One time I allowed my assistant to help me with payroll, and she literally forgot to affix a facsimile signature stamp to a paycheck for one of my drivers. So, he had a properly formatted payroll check; it just wasn’t signed.He called me so mad, and upset. He acted like our internal operations were the stupidest ever. So I told him — sign the check yourself. Just sign my name on the bottom.He had already presented the check to the teller, who returned it for lack of signature. When he re-presented the check, it was a red flag for her, so she called the number on the check; I answered, and she explained the situation to me.I knew the teller, but she didn’t know who I was. I told her what had happened, and that I had given permission for the driver to sign my name on the bottom of the check. The law mandated that I pay him on that day, and it would get me in trouble if he did not get paid.She asked me, “Are you an authorized signer on this account?”I simply responded, “I’m the Chief Financial Officer of the entire corporation.”She went, “Ohhh….” — and, that was that. She cashed the check; the driver got paid.I never let that assistant do payroll again. She was nearly twice my age, with about four times more office experience than I had. If you’re that careless, though…She made me look stupid to a guy I needed to respect me, and she almost broke my perfect payroll record. If I had not been working late, then I would not have been at the office to get the teller’s phone call.I don’t assume that anyone has any money. I assume, for practical purposes, that everyone is broke on payday. It reinforces the importance of the payroll duty.Just imagine. If your mortgage payment was coming out on Friday, when you were supposed to get paid, and you were told that you were not getting paid on Friday, because the payroll clerk was on vacation, and your mortgage payment bounced, — who do you think is on the hook for that?THE COMPANY.Finance is the study of risk, and someone at your company is ignoring too many risks.Good luck to ya!

Is it okay if an alt-right person loses their job after they've been publicly shamed for their alt-right views?
The right to freedom of speech is protected by the First Amendment. But it is not the only right the First Amendment protects, and this is an important distinction.Let’s start with this somewhat controversial (or, I would say, needlessly controversial) xkcd:Randall got attacked a lot for this (no links; you can use Google or Bing to find them, as many of them are authors that no overriding purpose will be served by boosting their PageRanks) by people who suggested he didn’t understand the consequences of what he was saying. But all of them, as far as I can tell, understood the problem purely in free speech terms.What they didn’t grasp, and what Randall clearly does, is that the package of rights the First Amendment protects includes freedom of association in addition to (one of many, actually) freedom of speech. And while freedom of association’s case law is usually focused on the right to create organized groups for any lawful aim, political or not, it also extends to informal association, like the casual contact we make with other people in public spaces every day.And, just as the right to speak includes the right to remain silent, the right not to speak, to be free from compelled speech, to not have to stand and say the Pledge of Allegiance in the morning, the right to associate just as clearly includes the right to dissociate.If I don’t like your speech, I don’t have to listen to it in a public forum. I don’t have to come into contact with you if I don’t want to. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled almost 50 years ago, in Rowan v. U.S. Post Office, that the First Amendment does not mean the government has to make someone listen to you or read what you write. That the putative listener has First Amendment rights to not listen.And if maybe I don’t like your speech and think it’s full of bad ideas, I have the First Amendment right to tell other people and suggest they not only stop listening to you, but dissociate themselves from you as well. I can tell them not to shop at any business that you run, or are employed at. I can suggest they unfriend you on Facebook or wherever.That is exactly as the Founders envisioned. They knew that speech would always be regulated, that certain ideas would be seen as beyond the pale at least at that particular time, just as the ideas that they had built the United States on had been a few centuries before. But they also knew that the government was a poor instrument to do that regulation with, that it was better left to society (as “the marketplace of ideas”) to regulate as it could more precisely and efficiently zero in on those who overstepped their bounds, as well as pivot nimbly when society’s underlying beliefs evolved (i.e., even 30 years ago anyone advocating for allowing same-sex marriage was an outlier not only generally but even in the LGBT community).And that is what happens when people who participate in things like the Charlottesville rally are identified and lose their jobs (The activists should go further and bring pressure on their former employers to contest any unemployment claims they may file, pour encourager les autres) for their public expression of ideas that are far outside the mainstream, that indeed once may have been acceptable but no now longer are. The ruins of their careers (such as they may have been), twisting slowly in the raw winds of the economy, are and will be a much more effective monument to the border of acceptable discourse than any government’s prison sentences ever have or will be. And such social punishments can be more easily revoked should they see the light.It is understandable that activists of the alt-right should chafe at this. Thanks to the lack of foresight by the founders of Twitter, who to be fair never envisioned their service being used as a primary means of communication (it was always supposed to be just a place where people/entities could make announcements and link to more serious text somewhere else), they found there an alternative vision of free speech, one where is much harder for listeners to dissociate themselves from speakers they don’t care for than it is in most other online spaces, to say nothing of real life. And naturally they liked it and decided it was what free speech should be, since they couldn’t be so easily ostracized and marginalized.Yes, as I write this I am certainly aware that this social regulation of speech has as much been pointed in the other political direction, that there have been times when it was progressives and leftwingers who kept certain opinions, certain associations, to themselves, and that some readers may say I am coming across as awfully smug about it. If it is the right that lately has mastered what some people call the “weaponization” of free speech, then it has long been the left that, as has been the case of late, has the upper hand in the weaponization of freedom of association (something I would say comes out of a long tradition of strikes and boycotts … rightwingers seem loathe to do those things not so much because of their association with the left but because they often seem to them to involve politicizing the market, the space that (at least in the U.S.) conservatives have long insisted be kept as apolitical as possible, which of course only serves to guarantee that it is the most truly political space in our society, that is the space that most regulates our lives).This is not a new observation—Henrik Ibsen famously wrote a whole play around this theme in the late 19th century. But it is important to keep in mind that this is a social phenomenon, one for which a political solution, as some have proposed, would just make things a lot worse by practically requiring the government to intrude into so many areas of our lives which it has as of the early 21st century long been the consensus opinion of the majority of human beings that it is best for the government not to intrude into.(Now, this notion of a social space where no one is allowed to criticize another speaker’s speech does have a place—in support groups and other places where that rule has been established and affirmatively agreed to by all involved before their participation. But it also usually comes with a confidentiality pledge. Society as a whole cannot operate like that).

I Still remember the date i joined Tech Mahindra IMS June 5 2014.. After failing in several interviews. Finally cracked it in a Pool Campus in KIIT, OrissaReason for Leaving??Not one several reasons, I have joined as a Fresher with minimum salary for a btech completed can get around 227000/12 = 18916.6666667After tax and all. I was getting around 16k. And served TechM for 2.6 years. In that I got little bit of hike and got upto 25k per month. In the year of 2015 my sister got a accident pelvic fracture. Around 16 bones in pelvic area got cracked and she was in hospital for more than 1. 5 years.I was not earning much so that I can help my father in this financial matter. My parents got diabetes due to tension and all and what my family required is financial support. Due to all of this i was not able to concentrate on study and all. I had a bond with TechM for 2 years and I can't leave as the bond break charges was 1.5 L. Despite of good training i was put into a support project where your technical learning is almost zero.Life was becoming hell day by day. In night shift i was feeling like someone kept me in jail and I don't have way to get out of that. Use to study in office some times one day my manager said in Hindi ( kya padh te rehte ho din bhar kuch bhi to nahin hota he Tum se). I would have told at that time there is nothing we can do as we are there to run some specific commands related to applications and max of the people did not have idea why we are doing like this.Loved someone enough, She is my first love.. Proposed her multiple times not got any clear ans. She moved to pune and even i also moved to pune after her in June 2016. That time i just completed 2 years in TechM. In pune she just started avoiding me.I was literally begging god ,for this reason I came to Pune ? To see all this ?. And in my home my mother's health was also not well father had diabetes and no one was there to take care of him and my sister aswell. My father got some loans aswell for my sister's operation. At that time financial condition was too bad. Broke my RD of 1.5 Lakh and gave to my father for closing the loan. Locked My self in a room for 2 days.People say mard ko dard nahin hota, It's not true .we have also emotions .Cried like hell.Didn't had anything. Noted down the things to concentrate and things to forget.Prepared for some certification exam cleared it. Then applied for several company. Finally got selected in one of the best /great place to work i.e SAP. I was so happy that day. Got unexpected hike and doing meaningful work.Everyone has a dream they don't want their parents to think like something they want but they can't afford or their son/daughter can't get them those things.After joining SAP. I fell proud of my decision to move out of Pune i have miserably failed in love but finally i gave that happiness to my parents and sister they deserve. Now at least I can say to my parents let me know what you want, don't think of price and all i can manage now. I am just happy seeing them smiling . Even i am still looking for more stability so that I can take my sister outside India for the treatment as she is not completely recovered.

She offered me semester long internship in GS! I was glad that I don’t have to spend my last semester in college and will also earn some money. With the stipend as high as 75k and stay at Hilton hotel during intern, anybody is likely to go crazy and say “YES”.And so I did.The beginning (GS-Bengaluru office)Soon came 7th January. Day started off with amazing orientation and office visit. Then came the lunch buddy - GS assigns a buddy from your department to have lunch with you the day you join, let’s say he was Raghav (name changed).Raghav seemed to be a really smart guy. I asked him a few questions about GS being a fin-tech, is it easy to switch and other questions. He seemed to be out of place, not interested. A guy came who was an intern in a team in which Raghav used to work. He kept talking and giggling with him, completely ignoring my presence. Cool, maybe Raghav is a bad guy - who cares?Met with my manager and two other interns who were in the same department - GIR. He seemed like a chilled-out and thoughtful person.
