hey guys rich man here from richmond knows tech now i wanted to talk to you today a little bit about live tv on your fire stick or fire tv or fire tv cube of course now there's the fire tv stick light as well so you can get live tv on all these devices uh if you're not if you don't have cable if all you have is internet and you really want that live tv fix there are a couple of ways to get it and i'm going to go over five of them here for you so stay tuned for that now i'm not the biggest fan of live tv on the fire stick simply because i'm not a big fan of live tv i i don't like commercials i'd rather just you know fire something up either on a dvd or something that's streaming like off at netflix or you know say if you have a disney plus subscription or hulu well even hulu has commercials but i'd rather just stream something that has no commercials personally but i know a lot of you out there like to get local news you like to get live tv for whatever reason and i've got a couple of ways to show that to you today but there's one other thing i wanted to go over with you real quick i've been getting some emails and some comments asking me where are my build videos where did they go you know build videos or the videos i did which shows you how to put certain configurations on your fire stick using that app that begins with the k and i think you know what i'm talking about it rhymes with jody well youtube decided they didn't like me doing those videos and they gave me a community strike and told me basically that i was canceled that my channel will be taken down if i kept doing videos on that subject now another thing i wanted to tell you though is if you are still using those builds or you're using those third-party apps which i showed you before please use a vpn i don't care which one you use if you want to use one that i promote i've got two great ones down in the description below one's ipvanish they're running a great special right now to the beginning of march and also expressvpn which always has that if you sign up for a year you get the first three months or free something like that anyway they're two great discount links if you haven't got a vpn yet and you're running some of those um add-ons or apps please get yourself a vpn even if it's a free one and use it when you're streaming from those different add-ons okay now that that's out of the way oh one more thing you can really help me out with hopefully i've heard your subscription by now guys if i have please go down and hit that subscribe button below and even more importantly smash that like button for me it tells youtube that you like these type of videos and it keeps me in the loop and it keeps me in the algorithm so i really do appreciate it also i have a second channel that i really would like you to check out it may not be everybody's cup of tea but i'm working really hard on it it's a top 10 tech channel and i think some of you would really like it i'm going to leave a link to that in the description below as well so let's get on with it so here i am on my fire stick and the first app i want to show you for live tv is right here it's called view it now i've showed you this one and i've showed you a couple of these in their own videos but i wanted to kind of group them together for you to give you like an all-in-one service here so if you want to download some of these and try them out you can try them all out they all work pretty good so view it brings you live local news now it's not in every single market not in every single city but it isn't in most of the major markets and there should be one that's near you so if you go down here you can see it but first up it has recently viewed and you see here when you hover over it it tells you if it's live or if it's a replay so if i scroll through it now you see this next one is live so channel 48 waff which is in huntsville alabama that one's live right now keep scrolling over now this shows you that this is a replay from live five news this morning so those are my recently views now if you scroll down you see there's nearby channels for me there's one in greenville north carolina now of course if you're using a vpn it's not going to show up your local channels you're going to have to search for them and i'll show you how to do that in a minute so you can see that uh this one's live and it's in wilmington north carolina and there's a whole lot of channels here guys but now if you go down one more click you go to national channels now i'm not going to check any of these out for you guys they all work just go in for yourself and take a look and see what's what works for you youtube doesn't like it when i'm showing these live channels so i'm trying to stay away from that right now but just know that you can go in here download this and check it out for yourself and it works really good okay and he even has the iditarod 2019-2020 sled dog race so i haven't gone in to look at that but you can check it out for yourself and apparently that's live as well so i'm not sure how it's coverage of the iditarod 2018 but it says i did ride 2021 here you can check it out now if we go down one more now you see this is all channels and how it groups these are by state so these are u.s channels and if you look at this it starts with alaska anchorage alaska if you scroll over you see this one's also anchorage anchorage fairbanks and if we keep going over it'll start going up so now you see we're in arizona we passed alabama now we're in california if you scroll over you can find something from your state guys and something from a big local city okay so that's live tv on view it it's a really nice app for all you guys that don't want to cut the cable because you're not getting your live local news this solves most of that problem maybe not all of it for all of you but for a lot of you this will solve it now back to the home screen okay so the next one i want to show you it's called distro tv let's check it out so if we click on distro tv we come to the home screen and you see where it says live on demand and search so right now we're in the live feature it tells you right now this is what it's streaming euro news and it also has a guide so if we stroll if we oops if we scroll down stroll if we scroll down here we take a stroll through the app we can scroll down and we i'm still saying stroll we can scroll down and check out what's on and i'll give you a little preview of it up here so i haven't really watched a lot of this stuff but there is a lot of content on here you've got the two alternate news outlets newsmax and oan on here and uh you know that's what you have for news and it's got a lot of other stuff it's got business stuff if you go scroll down further you'll see it's got movies and tv stuff and again download it check it out for yourself see if it's something that you might like you see going across here it's got categories so if you want you can scroll up to the categories and we can go to news and opinion business movies shows and comedy fun and games live sports mma and more outdoors reality and docs you can see it's got all kinds of different categories for you to search through guys so that's distro tv now back to the home screen and the next one i want to show you is plex now some of you guys may be familiar with these if you are just jump ahead if you've already already have plex or you already had this you'll review it you want to jump ahead to the next ones feel free to do that but if i i'm going to show you plex right now so if we open up plex now plex is a great one for serving videos if you have a home server but it also has a live tv function and it's right here so if we scroll down and we go to live tv it's going to come up with a guide so you so if you scroll down you'll see what's what's on at the moment it's now 12 30 in my area and you can see all the stuff that's on on plex there's quite a bit of stuff and most of it works really well guys okay so that's plex now we'll go back and my second pick or my number two pick rather is tv i've showed you this one before in another video on its own but it's worth showing you again because this one is really good for live tv if that's your thing make sure you get this one you'll see it comes up with an episode guy here up top it's going to show you right now it's going to show you an ad so these freebies are ad supported you're going to get some ads that pop up now and then you know that's the price you pay for not paying the cable company it's not a big price to pay though it's you know the ads aren't very long and most of the time they don't really bother you just you know remember that this is free and uh and you're saving some money by using these so if we go down here you'll see it has the guide we can scroll down and we can take a look at what's on just like the other ones uh here's the current time and this one you'll see the the yellow bar here is scrolling across as the time you know as the time moves ahead so right now it's 12 39 so it's basically showing you that it's 12 39 and and this is what's on right now so we're going to scroll down give you an idea what they have here now it goes into another category so this is new so like on that other app i showed you it showed you the categories across here on every tv it has them right in the guide so you just keep scrolling down until you get to the next category now you have classic movies so there you go guys i'll let you again i'll let you download it and take a look and see what you think my number one pick for live tv most of you probably already know this one but if you're kind of new to the fire stick you just got a fire stick for the holidays or something and and you're looking for you know different things that you can do with your fire sticker fire tv you want pluto tv so if you're if you're into live tv make sure you download pluto tv i'm going to open this up and i'll show you pluto tv has been around for a long time guys and keep in mind that everyone i've showed you here is totally free and legal to download they're all available in the amazon store okay now you see when pluto tv comes up it shows you live tv or on demand so i'm just going to press ok you know right now it's showing you the featured program which looks like the match game so if i hit the the enter button and then hit on live tv which is highlighted it's going to give you the guide and you'll see that yes the feature channel right now the featured show right now is the match game so if we scroll over and then we start scrolling down you can see that the the episode guide changes and you can see what's under this category so you got mr church here you got hard rain et cetera et cetera if you go down to entertainment it changes again fluted tv has gone through uh many different changes and the latest one is very easy to navigate and very easy to use and it works great reality shows crime comedy you've even got classic tv you've got family ties here happy days three's company you know this is my kind of stuff here this is what i like to watch the addams family the beverly hillbillies so this stuff is great guys and you can get quite a bit of it on pluto tv so now back to the home screen if you want to get any of these five add-ons any of these five apps all you have to do is go up to the top to where that magnifying glass is that's your search screen and just type them in you want pluto tv just start typing in pluto [Music] look it's already popping up [Music] you go down you click on it it's going to open up and it's going to say get it it's free to download these are all free mine comes up
