One-word answer: No.As you said, it was a hoax. I did figure out a way past Cyberoam (a secret I will take to my grave) but that was only temporary (about 2 months). (How To Become A Hacker)I'll tell you some reasons why you (or anyone) should not attempt cracking Cyberoam:When you join SVNIT, you sign some documents, one of which states you will abide by the Cyber Laws put in place by the college, which are a direct extension of the Indian Cyber Laws. By cracking Cyberoam you are directly violating those laws and hence you can be prosecuted, suspended or even expelled. Then you will face all sorts of problems from all the profs (not to mention the dreaded next-door aunty) and they may even cancel your placements. The joy of cracking Cyberoam will never ever be close to equal to the shame of getting suspended from college. People will forget you cracked Cyberoam, no one will forget you got suspended.Cyberoam is there for a very valid reason. In SVNIT, we have an amazing LAN infrastructure (next best to IIT-Bombay, source: Dr. Jinwala) and amazing internet speed (when it works :P ). The college pays lakhs of rupees every year to maintain this net service and provide us with the resources we need for our education. But many students misuse this facility, either downloading 100s of GBytes of Series or Movies or Games. I have friends who have 2 TB hard-drives filled with all these things. The problem is not downloading these things, but when you try downloading a 10 GB TV series, you put such a strain on the bandwidth that people like me cannot download simple softwares or papers, thus affecting us negatively while you enjoy whatever you have DLed. Many a times, this heavy load also cause the servers to crash and SVNIT has to put in more lakhs of rupees to upgrade the servers (we now run Blade servers, some of the best), money which otherwise would have been used to upgrade your labs or classrooms, thus you have affected your own education negatively and just sit and blame the college. This unchecked, unscrupulous misuse of internet is the reason why Cyberoam is vital.Since we pay so much money to maintain such amazing internet facility, we want only bonafide students to be able to use them, otherwise any random person from outside can also use up our bandwidth. For this reason, Cyberoam acts as an authentication mechanism to ensure only we, who are legitimate students, get this service.So as you see, cracking Cyberoam is a huge waste of your time and intelligence. He replaced her with a lady from his church who was one of those people who thinks managing with fear is the most efficient. From day one she and I clashed, to be fair she was hated by everyone but I didn’t rely on this job to put food on the table for my family so I had the privilege of being able to pushback when she started making detrimental changes to the department (weekends were now required, overtime wasn’t paid, etc).A month or two into her tenure, she came to my desk and told me there was a new cell phone use policy and asked me to sign a form stating I had received it. Some will say, Software Engineering is the best but SE is full of crap so don't believe 'em.Steps to  be followed:Collect all the previous years' question paper from 2011, preferably buy a Scanner. Choose the 5+1 units that you want to study. Note down all the previous years questions on a paper. Now open the prescribed textbook, that Forouzan one, and note down all the topics that haven't been asked ever.​(Apologies for the bad handwriting. I never thought my notes would end up on Quora.)Make notes. DO NOT read other's notes, especially the notes you've downloaded off the net. People are lazy, they'll skip half the things and you'll  study half of that and write half of that..and that means you've written only about 12.5% of the original content. So MAKE YOUR OWN NOTES.My dad always says, "Writing once is better than reading ten times". That's why, MAKE NOTES. In points.Prioritize bro. Emphasise on the previously asked questions. Okay, done, now.Get inside the hall at 9 AM. Fill the booklet carefully and sign in those hundred thousand pages.At 9:30, get into SPARTA mode. Attack the paper. For 10 marks questions, write at least 3 pages. Write every shit you know, draw all the god damn diagrams, write in points, underline important keywords and sentences, draw a line after each answer while maintaining good handwriting.VTU LOGIC = LENGTHIER THE ANSWER, SMARTER THE KID, LET'S GIVE HIM MORE MARKS!Fill the entire 43 pages to let the evaluator know you're a friggin' GENIUS!Now in the one month holiday, visit Dharmasthala, Tirupathi, Kashi, Ajmer Durga, Churches in Goa, Golden Temple and all other holy places in India and pray!
