quotient of 1.9 the state with the lowest unemployment rates Vermont we're only 2.2 percent of the populations out of work New Jersey and Alabama are tied with Colorado with the best current job growth rates back to West Virginia the construction industry here has been the fastest growing of all despite the fact that there are more people leaving the state than moving to it leisure and hospitality jobs like hotels and entertainment are growing here logging and mining traditional blue-collar industries have lost jobs across the nation blue-collar jobs are booming and they can't find enough people to fill the openings much of that's because so many kids spend four years earning a liberal arts degree only leave college with debt and low-paying entry-level positions blue-collar jobs they employed people meaning they hired less people overall conservatives were quick to point out that this was another failed experiment in socialism here in the state of Arizona the unemployment however on the bright side the job growth rate here is 0.3 percent so that's promising that means you could drive around Alaska and probably find a job if you looked hard enough perhaps something that city bus we're in Mississippi here in the Magnolia state the unemployment rates a little bit better than Alaska at five point five percent however Mississippi has seen a minus 0.5 percent job decline in the last year the worst in the nation what's interesting is that right next door in Alabama things are going in the opposite direction and Alabama they've done a good job cultivating industries like aerospace and cars Mississippi continues to rely on low-wage manufacturing and the state's large unskilled workforce has made it tough to expand company growth only 25% of Mississippi residents
