just a tech school we're a full college campus offering diplomas associate and bachelor degrees and even an mba if your dream is to be on a race team or be a service manager at a dealership a degree they're going to be able to have our backs every chance that they get want to get a taste of your future unoh gives you real hands-on experience 70 of the time you'll be rolling up your sleeves doing hands-on work in the classroom and the shop with very little actual classroom time it's all getting you out into the shop and actually working on things getting very hands-on which i like i'm a way hands-on learner the other 30 is spent learning the theory behind the technology from the best in the business i was having problems with a wiring diagram it would give me subtle hints but not the answer and try to push me to try to find it and i actually really love that because it really made me think instead of just spoon feeding me the answers and really made me learn and did we mention we provide most of your tools while you're a student that alone could save you thousands of dollars at unoh you'll get a complete college experience surrounded by nearly four thousand students but what learning the 300 building is home to the automotive program students have access to equipment and technology that gives them hands-on experience in their field from the first day of classes much of your training will be utilizing one of our 90 different training aid vehicles both new and old with the goal of educating students on a wide variety of manufacturers you'll even find a mustang dino here our students receive a well-rounded education encompassing everything from tires wheels and ball joints to satellite navigation systems and exhaust gas analyzing which is why approximately 98 of our graduates are employed in their desired field agriculture is growing around the globe literally and never has it been more important to have top technicians keeping the latest technologies working like new that's where we come in few programs in the country are growing faster than diesel so get on board our light duty and medium heavy-duty diesel programs are a great way to accelerate your future the 400 building is home to the diesel and agricultural programs at unoh both the medium heavy duty and light duty programs focus on general knowledge of the vehicle and its engine components learning how to troubleshoot problems and using computer software to run diagnostic procedures the differences come in the type of vehicles students will learn to service medium heavy duty diesel technicians will work on diesel engines and vehicles designed for shipping farming construction and more such as semi trucks buses and rail engines light duty diesel technicians will focus on 8-liter diesel engines and smaller which are designed for on-the-road consumer cars and trucks as well as compact tractor and skid steer engines students are taught with equipment and training aids for volvo cummins detroit caterpillar duramax mac and many other manufacturers down the hall is our agricultural equipment shop in here you will see the red green and gray equipment from several manufacturers that students will work with you will have the opportunity to train on the various electrical hydraulic and mechanical systems that keep these complex machines running and putting food on the table the ag shop is also home to the crown lift truck training area where students can become certified in the latest lift truck equipment technology skill technicians are in high demand and the crowned lift truck program at unoh is an excellent way to open the door to additional opportunities as a unoh graduate in both the classroom and shops you will get lots of hands-on training from your instructors following your diesel technology coursework you can take your education to the next level with the diesel advanced technology education program which means you'll graduate as a professional level mac and volvo technician opening doors to unlimited earning potential if racing is your thing our high-tech 7-acre high-performance motorsports complex is a shrine to horsepower we've had multiple crew guys that have come straight out of unoh and worked on our race cars and i trust those guys literally with my life i think it's really cool to see a college that really offers so many different possibilities for their students on the north end of campus you'll find our 600 building where we hold our high performance motorsports courses inside you'll find cutting edge technology and equipment the university's high performance program gives you extensive training in welding and fabrication engine machining custom engine building steering and suspension drive lines accessory trends fuels electronics and ignitions outside we have a test facility unlike any other featuring a drag strip style launch pad a skid pad an autocross course and an off-road course to test your four-wheel drive's metal simply put there is no better high-performance motorsports program in the country right behind our 600 building is our high performance dyno building here we have two superflow engine dynos that allow us to test and tune all types of high horsepower racing engines our dynos have tested everything from conventional automotive engines to 3 000 horsepower alcohol burning big blocks we also have two chassis dinos that allow us to tune vehicles for maximum performance want to travel around the country building driving and crewing race cars a 10 our tryouts and see if you make the cut for one of our unoh motorsports teams the sns volvo motorsports racing complex serves as a home base for our collegiate motorsports race teams this facility boasts a nascar-like shop atmosphere with work baits welders equipment rooms and showrooms our students build drive and crew the cars they race in and compete nationally at waynesville and eldora speedway in ohio i-55 speedway in missouri and volusia speedway park in florida just a few miles from campus is lima land motorsports park a university-owned quarter-mile high bank dirt track where the unoh motorsports teams compete at every friday night during the racing season as part of our athletic lineup motorsports team members are considered student athletes at unoh and they are eligible to earn scholarships the team is open to all unoh students regardless of major and is an excellent way to gain additional experience while earning your degree automation has found its way into more and more of the world's manufacturing facilities someone needs to customize maintain and repair these machines with a robotics and automation degree from unoh it could be you the 1500 building is home to the robotics and automation technology program this program started in 2016 has tripled in size in the last few years with automated manufacturing on the rise skilled trained technicians are in high demand students will learn to install repair upgrade and test many different types of automated and robotic equipment using computer programming and electromechanical engineering skills and knowledge students will become much more than an equipment operator students will gain the skills and experience to build maintain repair and troubleshoot complex electrical hydraulic pneumatic and mechanical systems on robots training on fanuc abb and yaskawa motorman machines will ensure that graduates are ready for whatever they may face after graduation the world depends on heating ventilation air conditioning and refrigeration technology it also depends on hvac technicians who can stay on top of this rapidly evolving industry hvac students take most of their classes in the 500 building our students gain the necessary skills through hands-on education which utilizes the latest technology in furnaces air conditioners and commercial refrigeration units most of your training in these courses will utilize training aids such as novar digital controls and cinetec computer-generated simulation programs courses also cover solar and wind power technology trained technicians in the where our alternate fuel students call home and is also an official training center for hunter engineering hunter engineering is an industry leader in tire and wheel service and alignment equipment the alternative fuels consortium unoh is proud to stay at the leading edge of this ever-changing industry students who complete this program will become trained and certified in areas including
