Shocking securitycamera video from inside a jailin London, Ontario. Video thatshows a murder that the guards apparentlydid not notice. This is the case of32-year-old Anthony George who is now servinga life sentence for the death of hiscellmate Adam Kargus. And this new video wasordered released by a judge and shows Kargusbeing beaten and choked by his cellmatein his cell. The two of themare locked together in that particular cell that we just hada circle around. And then you see a jailguard actually walking by at one pointin this video and checking to see thatall the doors are locked. But inside thatparticular cell-- so, there's that momentwe're talking about-- but inside that cell ashe's walking by George can be seen throughthe window punching and kicking and stompingand choking Kargus. So inmates at this timealso were bragging-- sorry, bangingand yelling on their own cells, but then at this pointthe next morning, George actually dragsthe body from the cell. And as you can see, manyinmates around without jail guardstaking notice and he leaves the bodyin the shower area which is a common areafor all of the inmates. So this video was takenfrom a security camera from one ofthe common areas, but as you can see,a lot happening here. And it shows that Georgeover the days that they had obtainedthe footage, it shows Georgephysically interacting with Kargus on sixdifferent occasions and on four ofthose occasions, he actually puts Kargusinto a chokehold. And I want to show youa still image, as well. There's only one at onepoint do we see guards actually intervening and as you can see,he's holding him in a chokehold. So George was scheduledfor trial in particular for this-- this case, but pled guiltyjust three weeks before the trialwas set to begin and is now servingthis life sentence. So life sentence,what were the repercussions for the jailwhere this happened? Well, of course, I mean,there were a lot of questions as to whythese two inmates who clearly had issues were even in the samejail cell together. George is also a knownviolent offender. Now, the courtactually heard from a nurse who said that shesuspected that he might have been under theinfluence of alcohol that same night and that wasactually fact because Georgeadmitted in court that he wasunder the influence, that he hadbeen drinking what is calledjailhouse brew, or what is commonlyknown as jailhouse brew, which isan alcoholic concoction that some ofthe prisoners make.
