what's up guys leasing the truck driver here I'm just taking a quick break and reading some comments and I've gotten also a lot of messages about this topic so I'm going to tell you guys today how to get your CDL for free I did not pay for my CDL because I was taught the same trick so I'm gonna drop that news on you guys today so let's get to it um a lot of people message me about how to get your CDL what route do you take what route should I take who's the best trucking company to go through etc etc and I am going to tell you guys this trick so I did not pay for my CDL I did not pay a dime towards my CDL so what I did was and this is coming from my parents went through trucking school my brother went through trucking school and so I was coached you know on how to do this and do it the right way so what you do is you go and pick the um so I know you guys are going to give me [ __ ] for this I know it and I would give myself [ __ ] for it too but there's a reason why I did it this way is I went to see our England okay so CR England the reason I went there was because it has the shortest trucking school I believe it's three weeks all other trucking schools are four to six weeks um and the reason that I went to England was what you can do anytime that you're going to get your CDL and the company says that they're going to pay for it that's true they will pay for it if you work for them for two years and the trick that you get caught in when you do it that way is you'll go through their trucking company and they will you know give you your CDL you're gonna go out with a trainer you'll come back you'll make ten cents a mile it feels like you'll make like twelve to thirteen cents a mile um starting out and you're like oh man I'm stuck here I sign this tract saying I'd work for these guys for two years I'm stuck making 12 cents a mile um you know this sucks really bad I'm not making any money and how do I get out of this so what you do is you go ahead and sign that contract tell them you're you know gonna work for them for two years or you'll repay the cost of the CDL that's pretty standard any trucking company will say you know if you break the contract you're responsible for the balance and that's true so what you do is go ahead sign the paperwork pick whatever trucking school that you want to go to England has the shortest and so that's why I went there and my brother was driving at the time so I ended up just trying to get through the program as fast as possible and then team driving with my brother and he was my trainer and so um it worked out really well for me so that I didn't have to go you know just with some random guy that I don't know or gal or whoever and so anyway what I did was sorry kind of going all over the place I'm still feeling sick I don't know if you guys saw my last video um I'm like blue today but anyway so pick the trucking school you want to go to sign the contract saying that you will work for them for - usually it's two years or you'll be responsible for the balance of the CDL school and then once you're done training and you're on your own you can drive solo or team or whatever route you guys want to take quit the company so just just say you know what I'm done and call the the finance department whoever it is that's going to be in charge of billing you for your CDL and set up payment plans with them to pay off your CDL because at least for England what happens is if you quit England before your two years contract is up they'll just send you to collections if you pay it that didn't happen to me it happened to someone that I know and they just got all of a sudden no one tried to collect money from them nothing they just got sent to collections so knowing that ahead of time help me because I quit and then I called them immediately instead of payment plans so the reason that you want to set up the payment plan is you can go to any other company mostly any other company if you're going to go to a small company they may or may not offer this but if you're going to go switch to a larger like you know Swift England FedEx you whoever I mean there's someone there's hundreds of companies out there um you can just tell them do you offer tuition reimbursement or are you willing to pay tuition reimbursement and the bigger companies will say yes because they're trying to get drivers so you can leave your 12 cents behind quit the job set up a payment plan with whoever you went through your trucking school with go over to a new company and say um do you offer tuition reimbursement I just got my CDL over here I need to pay it back I'm willing to come drive for you guys if you pay my CDL back to these guys and what they do is they'll either pay you off in full because you'll have some sort of like sign-on bonus and the sign-on bonus is that's that doesn't go towards your CDL that's just a sign-on bonus and they usually stretch those out so you don't want to count that towards your CDL payment but they will give you an additional um like mine they paid me 35 bucks every week on top of my paycheck and then England withdrew 35 bucks a week from my bank account every week I think is what it was I think that was my deal that was almost 10 years ago so but anyway if you just have set up your payment plans with whatever company you go through have the new company pay you for your payment's that you're paying that company and not only will you get your CDL paid for but you'll also make more per mile because you're not stuck making 12 cents a mile thinking you can't leave so if you leave you can go get signed on with a new company for you no I don't know what the rates are right now cuz I've been doing this a while so whatever that the newbie rates are now you can make you know double what you'd be making for your first two years and still get your CDL pay for so that was kind of a long roundabout squirrel thoughted way of explaining that but hopefully you stayed with me so if you are looking to get your CDL do it that way don't waste your time don't make 12 cents a mile for two years that's ridiculous you guys it's so insane and it's a trap and you don't have to do it you don't have to do it you can go make 30 cents a mile starting out you know so on that's how you get your CDL for free and really guys do it like it there's nothing holding you to the company that you are on taking your CDL school through you can break that contract and you can pay it back and you can get other companies to pay it back for you so um that's my biggest tip I started making money really fast on the road because I learned that trick and I was taught that and so just really make sure you don't fall into those those hiring tricks so um yeah go out there get it done go make money and if you liked this video subscribe to my channel more videos are coming soon and follow me at the lace inator on Instagram and I'll see you guys on the next video
