welcome today I will be talking about donation receipt or receipt letters here is an example of how the overall email and receipt looks like after the customer makes payment or donation on the website if the transaction is successful the customer will receive an email with a receipt attached just like [Music] this a complete receipt consists of a receipt letter and an email body in this video we will be looking into both these aspects for receipt letters the steps I will be showing you is to create a new empty receipt letter then linking that receipt letter to a payment form then I will show you the functionality of the letter template Builder feature how to modify the header and footer of the letter and finally previewing them let's start off by creating an empty letter first go to the letter object and create a new letter with your chosen and record type fill in all your details and click save here we will leave the letter text empty as we will use letter Builder to populate this we will now move on to the next step which is to link the letter we created to a payment form head over to your payment form object select the payment form click the edit button in the top right corner scroll down to locate receipt letter and choose the letter we we just created now the payment form is linked to the receipt letter created next I will show you how to make modifications on the letter with the letter template Builder feature we will now open the receipt letter that we previously created and we will make all modifications inside the letter template Builder here in here we can modify the receipt content and change the fields such as donor name donation amount and more now I will demonstrate putting in the name field and payment amount field simply locate the fields you need in the search bar then copy and paste it in the text moving on I will show you how to modify the header and footer of the receipt for modifying the header and footer head over to your Merchant facility and click on view all in the notes and attachments [Music] tab upload your own header and footer and remember to name them as letter head and footer the system will choose the latest created graphic if there are several with the same name take note that if you want a different header or footer for a different payment receipt there are several ways to do so one is to create another Merchant facility after everything is done it is time to preview the letter we created locate the payment transaction object select the transaction you want to preview and from the top right corner click on the receipt button this is how the overall receipt letter we created looks like now that we have created the receipt letters it is time to move on to the email body the following steps are creating a HTML email template insert the template into the system previewing the email body and sending email to our inbox to test and verify the email body we created first you need to create HTML email template of your own create your email template in html-only docomo like I have done the email merge Fields can be found in the description section besides that I have also included the HTML we have used here in the description for your reference next I will show you how to insert the email body you created into the system the email template can be found by going to your setup homepage then in the search bar search for classic email template click into [Music] it scroll down and click into the payment [Music] receipt then click click on the edit template button and you will get a HTML format of the email paste the HTML email body you previously created and click save now we get to preview our email body after clicking the save button we get to see how the HTML and plain text version of the email body looks like besides previewing on the platform we can send a transaction receipt to our email as a reference clicking on the send test and very verify merge field button we get to see how the email with the attached receipt looks like for the customer remember to fill in the email you wish to send the preview to head over to the email you filled in and you get to see how the overall email body and receipt letter will look [Music] like thanks for watching if you like like this video feel free to leave a like And subscribe for more information about payments to us click on the link in the description down below [Music]
