[Music] hi I'm Kristen CHR oh and kinetics based out of Atlanta Georgia and I'm here to give you five great tips for HR pros who hate doing presentations and I'm brought to you by Alex the most engaging employee communications platform in the universe tip one is easy you want to start with this story there's nothing worse than any presenter starting with a bunch of text a bunch of bullet points and really no imagery so one of the things I found effective create some imagery in people's minds who are like seeing your presentation so the best thing you can do is start with the story you're an HR pro you've got endless stories so use those stories to create a connection with your audience from the first five minutes tip number two I know you're scared you think you've got to hit people with the facts well what I found is the best presenters use images and photos so don't be afraid to use even full screen images to like get people interested in what what you're saying and also use images in slides that have some text and have some bullet points you can draw interest you can create a connection with images in the same way that you created a connection with stories tip three so I've talked to you about stories in photos your audience is already on pins and needles thinking that you're gonna hammer them with a bunch of text so the best thing you can do every presentation has text best thing you can do is when you have to present facts don't overwhelm people with text or bullet points on a slide my rule of thumb and I think it's a good rule of thumb for you as well is to have no more than three or four bullet points on any slide make sure that you don't have more than two lines on any bullet and then by all means please remember this include an image on that slide it's going to make it softer it's going to make people interested in what you're saying and most importantly they're not gonna fall asleep on you tip 4 we're getting into the pro level now the best presenters aren't overwhelmed by what's in front of them and they control the message and they control the themes a great way for you to do that in your presentation is to have big section dividers and what I mean by that is when you're putting your presentation together you should think about this is my presentation this is the story and the facts I have to present and now I'm gonna carve that up into probably no more than five sections and I'm going to divide that with a slide in the presentation so I can say now we're moving on to the next topic what that does and I always joke like and kind of be self-deprecating on this is...
