Is it rude to take time reading the form when someone asks you to sign a form? It seems most people sign it as fast as possible
If you’re signing a form without reading it, you are making a mistake.Contracts are contracts that you’re bound to, even if you do not read them before you sign. You’re an adult. When an adult signs, they are legally bound by what they affix their signature to (given a legal purpose, etc.)Let them wait. The more impatient they seem, the slower I read. If they don’t want me to read what I’m signing, I figure there is a reason they don’t want me to read it.I can’t tell you how many people end up complaining about a contract they entered because they failed to read it before they signed it.

What are some useful SaaS (software as a service) tools for small businesses?
The logical route for most small businesses that are operating on tight budgets is to start with free SaaS software. There are many out there but you will find that they are limited in features and capabilities. You may want to have a mix of free tools and set aside a reasonable investment for paid solutions since there are lots of affordably priced, SMB-friendly SaaS software offerings in the market. Here’s a great resource on SaaS tools for small business you may want to check out.The following are my suggestions of software categories and the respective products that are most useful in y...

Is the alphabet of any sign language enough to communicate with deaf/hearing-impaired people?
My older sister was a fingerspelling whiz. Her sinistral spelling looked like incomprehensible blurs to most hearing people. Only a practiced eye, such as mine, could understand her lightning-fast spelling. She never learned much beyond the alphabet even though I, the deaf kid in the house, was fluent in Sign.I can only theorize to why she eschewed Sign for fingerspelling. She was always a reserved and precise child. She always kept her books and clothes meticulously neat and clean. She preferred the known to the unknown. American Sign Language, with its expansive three-dimensional spatiality, was radically different from the more sequential spoken and written languages she knew so well. (More on that later.) She was probably too shy to attempt such a foreign language, preferring the more familiar sequential spelling. Our conversations might’ve looked skewed to the observer. I signed to her in my enthusiastic and boisterous manner. She fingerspelled to me in her reserved and intense way. My end of the conversation was usually done much more quickly than hers. I would watch and wait for her to finish, nodding along patiently. Despite her speed, she couldn’t match the richly compressed nature of Sign.We communicated splendidly. We played as sisters should. We played with dolls. We read books together. We chattered. It was only when adolescence hit that this chumminess ended. It’s profoundly uncool, after all, to hang out with your little sister after a certain age. Communication wasn’t our problem; adolosence was. This intimacy of communication didn’t extend to others. Whenever she tagged along to the Deaf events I attended, she usually ended up in a corner by herself. It took me a long time to realize that it was because of her fingerspelling. Most fluent Deaf signers grew too impatient or bored with her more ponderous conversation and wandered off, leaving her alone. What my sister might not have realized about Deaf people is that many fluent signers have a harder time processing English transposed into Sign. Such forms of communication carries a special form of cognitive burden for the Deaf.English, as all spoken and written languages, is sequential. One word comes after another in a neat little stream of thoughts. Sign isn’t so confined to two dimensions. It is three-dimensional as our hands and arms can move in all directions. So, these two languages are profoundly different.Strange things happen when you try to flatten a fundamentally three-dimensional language into a more two-dimensional expression. It becomes .. harder to understand. Ursula Bellugi, one of the pioneering researchers into Sign linguistics noted:Deaf people have reported to us that while they can process each item as it appears, they find it difficult to process the message content as a whole when all the information is expressed in the sign stream as sequential elements."— Ursula Bellugi, as quoted in Margalit Fox’s Talking Hands: What Sign Language Reveals About the Mind p. 233Samuel Spualla lends more credence to this observation in his 1991 study of Manually-Coded English (MCE) in children. MCE is essentially English in signed form. Spualla found that children exposed only to MCE still spatialized their grammar, creating a third dimension for their two-dimensional language. Despite never being exposed to ASL’s spatial nature, these children naturally gravitated toward three-dimensional form of expression. All sign languages created in isolation—with no exposure to outside sign languages—employ spatial grammar elements. This suggests that signed languages are naturally three-dimensional.Perhaps our minds have a hard time processing fundamentally unnatural languages … such as fingerspelling and Signed English. It is more cognitive work to piece together thoughts expressed in such strange and stiff ways. Assuming this is true, then these people who abandoned my sister just had a harder time understanding her sequential communication (just as, I’m sure, she had a hard time understanding their buoyant spatial expressiveness). You have different fidelity levels for communication. With low-fidelity communication, you can get your basic ideas across. Coat on cold conveys the notion that you should put on your coat because it’s cold. Much is lost, however, in this form of communication. Nuance, emotion, and implications. High-fidelity communication transcends conveyance of simple information. It imparts subtlety, emotion, and connection. Fingerspelling and most methods of signed English are fine for low-fidelity communication with a Deaf person. If you want high-fidelity communication where you are able to truly express yourself and connect with a Deaf person who signs funnily, you need a natural sign language like ASL. There are no shortcuts when it comes to high-fidelity communication. Sorry ’bout that.

What is the weirdest thing that’s happened to you as an attorney?
Several years back as a young attorney I traded in a gold '98 Camry for a newer SUV. The SUV had a small dent in the grille that the dealer refused to fix during our negotiations. I made the trade anyway. The next day while at the office I received a call from a man who was involved in a hit and run. He left the scene of a guard gate to a private gated community that he plowed into because he felt like he had too much to drink. The cops were after him.I asked him for a description of his car. He said it was a Camry. I asked what color, he said gold. I asked him what year, he said '98. Then I thought, that's strange, sounds like the car I just traded in. I asked him where he worked. I was amused when he told me it was a dealership across town--not the one where I traded my car in, but a smaller one nearby. I learned that the car he was driving was not his, but it was his employer's and they regularly had access to these vehicles. He went on to tell me that they do regular business with the larger local dealerships where they buy older trade-ins (like mine) from them. This, I thought, had to be my car. The man told me the car appeared to be a total loss. Well the next day got even weirder.I received a call from the salesman who sold me the SUV. He told me that the financing didn't work out quite like they had hoped and I needed to come back in to re-sign some paperwork. I had heard of this practice, as back then it was a common trick dealerships pulled to try and get people who already took their new rides home and then would attempt to get them to agree to less favorable financing terms. The law allowed this within 3 days of purchase. The buyer really had no bargaining power--you either accepted the new terms, or you had to give the new car back and the agreement would be terminated. I drove to the dealership that day with a smile on my face.Once I arrived, as expected , the guy told me my payments would go up quite a bit. I told him that wasn't going to happen and I immediately demanded the return of my vehicle. Of course I was gambling. I had no desire to void the deal and would have, under normal conditions, agreed to these terms despite the fraud that I knew was occurring. The salesman looked at me perplexed as most people simply gripe a bit, but then give in. I was emphatic. "Bring me my car now, I'm busy and I have an appointment to get to", I told him. He slowly got up and left. I could see him in a hallway talking to three other men. I knew that if that really was my car that had already been sold to another dealer, and was totaled, this was going to get real interesting. The salesman returned with noticeable sweat beads on his forehead. He said it was all a big mistake and apologized and told me that I was good to keep the existing deal intact. I said that was not happening, not unless they agreed to fix my grille that they previously refused repair. He told me that would not be a problem, so I scheduled an appointment the next day, and off I went.

Does metal rust even when there is no water present?
Q: Does metal rust even when there is no water present? The simple answer is yes, because other materials besides water can oxidize metal. For example, allow hydrochloric acid fumes anywhere near steel and the patina of rust will form fast. It’s also yes if you are referring specifically to liquid water, as there is still water vapor in the atmosphere when you’re nowhere near a source of liquid water. However…If you intentionally create an environment in which neither liquid nor vaporous water nor any other oxidizer can come into contact with your metal, then no. It will not rust.So how do you do that? Here’s a World War 2 vintage Savage Enfield rifle with the action packed in cosmoline (Cosmoline - Wikipedia). This is a very common material used to block water from guns, gun parts, and other metal tools or parts in long term storage. Obviously it’s appreciated in the firearms industry because it both protects the barrel and won’t damage a wood stock. Here’s a trigger assembly with some of its cosmoline still on. If you are able to purchase firearms that are shipped from manufacturers or that have been in storage, it’s quite common for them to arrive smeared in cosmoline. That’s a good sign, and means that it’s been cared for.Anyway, a bit of a tangent but I believe in practical examples where possible. If you’re asking because you plan on storing something, then a coating of oil or other substance which does not mix with water can also preserve your metal, but I’d do some research into the material you intend to use first to make sure it’s appropriate for your application.Hope that helps.

How were non-Latinate scripts displayed on electronic signs before high pixel density screens were invented?
They weren't. Before the resolution was sufficient, the sounds of the words were simply transcribed into latin letters for transmission and display. Needless to say, this was a horrible solution, as the huge number of homonyms in asian languages quickly lead to extremely ambiguous texts. Fun fact: Fax machines would most likely have never signNowed critical mass in the 1970s, were it not for the Japanese suddenly buying them in large quantities. Because unlike the then-widespread 60-symbol Teleprinter, they could process and transfer information as scanned pixels (and thus all the 2000+ Kanji).

How do you get an officer rank in the UK army?
By applying for a commisioning course at SandhurstThis can be done via the local Recruiting Office (make sure the Navy dont press gang you, or the RAF seduce you with lies about becoming a fast jet pilot)It a long time ago and the process may have changed since then bit for me it wasWalk into a recruiting office and tell the nice Sgt I wanted to be a GeneralWhen he finised laughing he handed me a form to fill in, just general stuff and told me I would called in for a chatA few weeks later I was interviewed by a Lt Colonel, a general chat about me, my aspirations and an explaination of the process, I had to sign forms for vetting and have a rudimentary medicalAnother few weeks later and another inteveiw vetting done and ok, what Regiments did I fancy… type chatNext a full medicalThen off for 3 days with my first choice of Regt, living in the Officers Mess, during the days being shown what sort of format the RCB would take, so they could take a look at you and decide if they wanted you as a brother officer and would sponsor you to SandhurstNext, the big test, 3 day of Regular Commission Board at Warminster, written test getting you to drawn up a timed plan for a scenario, a but of public speaking to a small audience, lots of command tests getting concrete filled ammo boxes over “bottomless and crocodile infested chasms” a “confidence coures” and other stuff that is lost in the mists of timePass that and you will be called to attend a commissioning course at the RMA Sandhurst, which for me was 6 months in New Colledge as a cadet then 6 months in Old College as an Officer, then you were ejected into the regular army on to a “To Arms Course” then inflicted on a Troop of real life soldiers……

What is it like to be the only Deaf person in a hearing family?
I am completely qualified to answer this. I am the only deaf person in the entire family tree of mine. From my parents point of view, it was scary and confusing for them, not because of the disability but because they didn't know how to guide me or how to bring me up. But luckily, they received tons of supports and so they somehow found the right persons to connect and help me be the person I am today. They know I am also human, and never actually treated me differently. Maybe that's the reason I never knew I was different in the early stages of my life. After repeatedly contact with the outside world, only I did come to know that we weren't the same as others. I infact, believed that all of us, normal hearing and deaf people used to talk with lips movement like I just did. When we all were kids, my cousins and other friends of mine used to whisper stuffs into my ears, like everyone does. I used to feel puzzled that what are they saying, I used to let it off. I thought it's nothing. Later only I realised its people were talking about something. That time I made sure to let people know to talk face to face and not to whisper into my ears, as it would have been of no use. Basically it's both a rewarding experience as well as a learning experience for me. It's then I realised that I do have parents and family as supports, but I can't expect them to find all the answers for me as they are also learning it along with me. I had to learn to find those by myself. They (my parents and my close family) have tried their best to make my life easier, by talking in English to me, and conversing to me with the help of social medias like WhatsApp, messaging. They even try to ensure if subtitles are happening for the particular movie we plan to watch in theatre. My aunts (like my parent's sisters, or their brother's wife) try their best to converse with me in English, and they keep lamenting for not having learnt proper English. I try my best to convince them that's it's alright, I really appreciate their efforts. It's actually my family who has been really supportive in this journey of mine. I do thank god for having received an amazing family. My parents let me know beforehand, that I would definitely have to do hardwork, but I always left it aside. Now though I know the value of hardwork. I used to believe that if I weren't deaf, my life would be easier. But then I realised, life being easier isn't full of sunshine, it tends to get boring after a while. Came to the conclusion that life should be a mixture of Hardwork and relaxation too. Every single and small achievements of mine are recorded in my family mind. Few Hindi words spoken is a delight for them. Or if I achieve something related to hearing stuff, they express their happiness. They know it's not taken for granted. Couple of things happened after I joined this family. ->Made English language a part of daily conversations, not just Hindi. ->Let everyone know that I am actually normal, and made me comfortable in the atmosphere. ->Taught me to live comfortably and manage in this world.->Taught that impossible is just a word. ->Even my younger brother looks up to me, I don't think he knows that I actually have a disability. ->Learnt that I am a good human being. ->Learnt that family and close friends will stand by you, for anything. ->Oh yeah, how could I forget the overprotective shell I am in, created by my parents. Basically it's an amazing journey for me.

Frequently asked questions
How do i add an electronic signature to a word document?
When a client enters information (such as a password) into the online form on , the information is encrypted so the client cannot see it. An authorized representative for the client, called a "Doe Representative," must enter the information into the "Signature" field to complete the signature.
How to use electronic signature paint?
Here is how to use electronic signature paint:
1. Get started in this tutorial, and follow all steps.
2. Take your digital signature and print it on a piece of paper, paper that is not too thick. You can use a regular paper for that. We recommend paper with the same color as your skin, as it will ensure that your signature will be easy to see. If your signature does not fit on your paper, it will be very difficult to see on it.
3. Get a paint marker. You would be surprised how much this costs, and for good reasons. We've found cheap paint markers at local craft shops. If you can't make these yourself, then get a good brand like Tacky or Wet N' Wild. You can buy these at local craft stores, or you can buy them online. We buy ours at , where it costs just $ for a ounce bottle.
4. After you've purchased and used a paint marker, take that paint marker to a surface that is not too slick for ink to adhere to, and lightly paint your digital signature onto it. This will not be too messy, and it is a good idea to paint lightly, since the thicker the paint, the more ink that will be needed.
5. Place your signature on the paper that you want your digital signature on, such as a piece of newspaper.
6. Using the tip of the paint marker, apply very light pressure to the paper with a very light stroke. The lighter your stroke, the harder it will be to see. You want it to be very lightly brushed, without the brush leaving any ink on the paper.
7. Remove the paper from the paper hol...
