in the final video of this series i'm going to explore how you can take your accessible word document and convert it into different formats such as an epub or large text mp3 these types of formats so the first one i'm going to look at is the epub formats and epub is as it says here is a short term for electronic publication styled epub and of course there are very good accessible versions uh ones i'm going to use to convert the documents into an epub is this one from the daisy consortium it's a free one and it's a words to epub and you can see there's some information here so here's the link that's a daisy.org if you go to the daisy consortium you can find the the link and the download there and this is an add-in for word so it just installs into word there's also from dolphin software if you go to your dolph and some there's a an easy converter express which also uh is an add-in for word that you can get and to read the epubs that you've converted uh this the dolphin easy reader is very good and it works on um ipads as well and and other other tablet features so there's lots of ways in which you can read the content so let's look at how we can export that file format so first of all i've got my word document and because i've added these um add-ins from the daisy consortium i've got them just here so first of all i'm going to do is i'm going to select word pub in and it's just prompted me to save the document so i'll just save that first of all i've done my accessibility checker so i know that my document is accessible and i'm just going to go to word and epub and there's some information about where do i want to store it this type of thing there's an advanced mode where you can put in the subtitles the the author's name all these sorts of things but essentially i'm just going to click ok and it doesn't take long depending on the document it will then go away and save that format okay so i want to then just to open the folder where it saved it to and it's the folder where i'm working just i've got all my things here so then the next stage is i've already set this to open up with the dolphin easy reader so i'm just going to do that just now i'm just going to say open with and i want to open with dolphin easyreader and here's my dolphin easyreader here and here's the version that i've made i've made other ones in the past just from word that i've used here's the one i'll just let you see an example of this so if i just click on to play this again from a word document that i use to make a college library and it's brought across all the headings all that information is there if i play it welcome welcome to the community school library we are located in a separate building on i just want to first format fast forward that to the image so it picks up the image tag this image shows the front desk of the college library if you have any queries please ask staff at the desk the library is and again i can navigate by headings from there as well there's also some options to change the background color uh the scrolling different features how fast you want it to go and the voice so let's go back to the one here's the one we made earlier from our accessible version and for some reason it's doubled up the uh the headings it's probably something more to do with my computer than anything but you can see there's the headings we can go through all those information and have it right germany's strategy germany's strategy for a war on two fronts against france and russia was so that's just using the the built-in plug-in the the free one let's again bring up my word document that's a free one word to epub and of course there's also the free one as well from easy converter express which i think maybe lasts for 30 days and there's various options of conversions there the other one i have is the this one here the dolphin um easy converter express where you can choose various formats so if i say large print i want to change that document to large print click next choose the font size you want off it goes and say start and let me show the location of that so i can find it and open up to large print so there we have it so lots of options for converting your accessible document into other accessible formats [Music] you
