From a working parent’s perspective, is it right for stay-at-home parents to expect working spouses to do the chores and watch t
I have a unique perspective. In my first marriage I was a stay-at-home mom for 15 years. I took care of the house and children and my husband went to work. Now in my 2nd marriage, I am building my own business while my present husband signNowly reduces his work hours to compensate for my extended days. There is not one moment at the office that passes when I don’t realize how much of the success my first husband achieved in his career, was because of me. First husband never had to ask me if he could stay late at the office, go into work on the weekends, or go to a 2 week conference for t...

How can you buy a piece of land outside of your country?
I have bought and sold a lot of raw land in 9 different counties in California. If you are asking how to buy land outside your country without being there or doing diligence yourself first, my advice is don't. Aside from the fact that foreign ownership of real estate is a muddy concept at best in many countries, you need to see it and what's around it to evaluate the purchase, as well as figure out the legal part.If you are asking how to buy land in general, the best thing to do is visit the country and see if you want to buy there, then find out about the legal aspects of owning, along with difficulty in developing and how hard it will be to resell before even thinking about it.If you are talking about buying land in the US, the process is much more cut and dried but it's still complicated. For example, there are tons of lots in Half Moon Bay that sit right next to houses in a development that no one can build on because there's a water moratorium, even though public water is there at the street. You need to have a realtor here who deals with raw land - most don't - and has local knowledge in the area you are looking.

What does it feel like to experience a heart attack?
What does a heart attack feel like? I had a heart attack on 17th July 2018. So pretty fresh. It was a normal day. Just finished a gym session along with my brother at about 9 pm.I remember thinking during my last exercise, what a good session it was. I felt really strong. Full of energy. My last exercise was a dead lift.As I walked out of the gym I felt an uncomfortable feeling in the middle of my chest. Mild pain. I put it down to the heavy gym session and didn’t think much about it.As I drove the 15min home the pain intensified. But not alarmingly so. However, now it spread to both my arms. The back of the arms.I now put it d...

"Never do anything you can't admit doing, because if you're that ashamed of it, then it's probably wrong." Is true or not, and w
When my father died, the funeral home that was supposed to cremate him sent the death certificate by snail-mail to the coroner. The coroner sent it back unsigned, saying the attending physician first had to be asked to sign it, and only if the attending physician refused would the coroner sign it. The funeral home never bothered to tell us this, and when the coroner sent the death certificate back he used snail mail, too.Why they didn't just print up another copy of the death certificate is beyond me, maybe there's a rule about that or something but I'd assume they could've told the coroner to trash it and just printed a new copy to avoid waiting the day and a half it took for the mail to carry things back and forth. But the point is, this all happened without anyone calling my mother to tell her. As far as she knew, they were going to cremate my father and we'd pick up the ashes the day before his memorial service. The memorial was on the tenth day after his death, by the way. That's important, because of what happened next. The night before the memorial service, I realized that I'd seen my mother earlier in the day and she never mentioned picking up my dad's ashes. It was late already and I thought she might've gone to sleep, so I called my sister who was staying with my mom, and asked if anyone got the ashes. Nobody had, as you've probably guessed, but I wasn't worried because I could just swing by and pick up the ashes on my way to the church for the memorial service.I arrived at the funeral home to get the ashes the next morning, and was told that my father had not been cremated yet because of the death certificate problem mentioned earlier -- and they didn't have the attending physician's name, and they didn't bother to ever call any of us to get the name, so they were waiting for someone to come by so they could ask us and then mail the death certificate again. I was stunned, and after a moment I recalled that the funeral home doesn't preserve bodies for cremation, they just store them in a back room with ventilation. I asked where my father was, and was shown to a room where my father lay, decomposing. It was one of the worst moments of my adult life.I went into a rage. I told them, using profanity, to call the doctor and ask him over the phone if he'll sign the death certificate, and if not to call the coroner and ask him if he will take a faxed copy to sign and fax back in order to give the funeral home the authority to cremate my father. I ended up calling the doctor myself, who refused to sign it (this is common, apparently, since doctors don't like having to be involved in official death certification on their patients if they weren't present at the moment of death, for whatever reasons), so I called the coroner and he agreed to sign a faxed copy and fax it back. But there was no way my father's ashes would be ready in time for the memorial service. The wooden box, however, was ready. I told them to put a heavy weight inside the box, seal it, and give it to me. I took the box and told them I'd be back later that afternoon to get my father's ashes, and that if they weren't ready I'd return the following day with my lawyer.I then took the box to the service and pretended my father's ashes were inside. My father's death was a horrible situation, of course, but it was made worse by my mother's overwhelming grief to the point she didn't think she could even continue living. She's very old, she was scared, and the family had been devastated watching my father suffer for months before he died. I knew that if I told them my father's body lay in a room rotting for almost two weeks and that his ashes still weren't ready, it would be too much to bear on this already sad day for his memorial service. So I chose to handle it myself and keep it as secret as possible, especially from my mother.Since I'd already talked to my sister about the funeral home not calling and never hearing about the death certificate, I felt I had to let her know the situation when she asked me point-blank about what had happened. She was very upset, and another sibling found out because of seeing the depressed state my sister was in. But none of our other siblings were told, nor my mother, nor anyone else.I went back and picked up my dad's ashes later that day, let them cool down (they were still flaming hot), and put them into the box where they belonged. But when I got the ashes, I explained to the funeral home that despite their mistakes and everything that had transpired, they were to pretend that everything went fine and that there was never a problem. They were not to apologize to my mother, they weren't to even discuss it with her, they weren't to offer a refund, nothing at all -- because I had to keep that secret for the day of the memorial service, and it actually went so well at the service that I knew I couldn't turn around later and reveal what had happened, or it would forever taint everyone's memory of the service knowing that box didn't have my father in it and that he was being burned while we sat listening to the pastor talk about him with her hand atop that box.I'll carry the weight of what I had to do for the rest of my life, but I'm not ashamed of what I did and I don't think there's anything wrong with what I did. But there's no way I can admit to my family or anyone they know what really happened (aside from two of my several siblings). I'm even posting this anonymously to make sure nobody who knows me or my family accidentally stumbles across it and finds out and tells my mom.Just because people don't want to admit to doing something doesn't make it inherently wrong, any more than people sometimes eagerly admitting having done something doesn't make it inherently right. People are very often confronted in life with terrible choices, with impossible decisions. It's one thing to be able to force yourself to make those decisions and bear the burden of those choices, but it's another thing to also expect people to have to talk about it and tell everyone. People deserve mercy sometimes, and the aftermath of a difficult choice is often the most important time to understand that those are precisely some of the people and moments that mercy is meant for.

What's the sleaziest trick a landlord tried to pull on you?
About a year after I moved in, my landlord told me of his plans to sell his house. I asked him to give me at least 3 months notice as it is very expensive to move in New York let alone finding a place is not easy. He assured me that he would let me know as soon as he found someone who is interested in buying his house. In January I went home to find a note with the landlord’s phone number on it stating for me to call him. I knew exactly what was coming next!Heres where the rush began:One fateful morning just before 6am in January, my daughter received a phone call from the landlord. He told her that he sold the house and we only have 2 weeks to leave. Still groggy from sleeping, my daughter delayed telling me until about an hour later, and also due to the fact that I am usually sleep- deprived from school in New York and work in Connecticut. The initial shock was hard to grasp, since my landlord told me he is planned on selling his house, but no time soon. A few days before my daughter received the phone call, I’d seen the note on the door etched with his number and a plea to call. I hadn’t called until my daughter received the phone call a few days later.I called the guy and he immediately said “ I signed the deed and the new owners want you out in two weeks” that is not enough time… he said he ask them to give me a month because I am a good tenant. A few days later my heat was off, the landlord said he’s fixing it! Then the shower head stopped working! Then my heat turned off, mind you….we are in 5 below zero outside. The hot water was also turned off. This place was very convenient as it was close to the train and and easy access to my work and school. I found a place that I had to pay down 6k to move-in and I moved at end of February. I had a few things left in the apartment of which he told I do not need to rush to take them. I went back to pick up my mails a few times and realized that no changes were made to the place, I used my old keys to enter the apartment and everything was as I left it. Two days before I moved out the heat , the shower head and hot water miraculously started working again. Last week I drop my boss to the airport and drive by my old place to pick up my mails, I ran into my neighbor, an older guy who would oftentimes help me to find parking. He told me that my landlord was talking to him about how stressed out he was because the Jews no longer wants to pay him the cash money they promised and he got rid of his tenants who were really nice and now he is struggling and have no idea how he is going to pay for his mortgage. (No contract) I actually do not feel sorry for the guy! He lied about “deed” and turn off my heat and hot water in the dead of winter, knowing that I work full-time and go to school full-time, I was struggling with find time to even pack my things while going to school 6 days a week. His trick backfired!!!

What's the best way to create a logo for my company? I want to do it myself as I'm on a budget and fairly creative.
Here is what you can do. You won't need to install any software, as everything will be done online. The key tool for logo design is called "pen tool" and it allows to create dinamic lines and curves (that you can always edit). Then you work with shapes, fill colours and borders. That's most of it, regarding basic design tools.Draw the logo in a piece of paper using a ruler and a pencil. Do it as many times as necessary until you find it works for you.Take a photo from it from above (literally, not 45°). Download the photo to you computerEnter YouiDraw Logo Creator, create an account and proceedUpload your picture and draw on top of it.If you don't like that you could create a version entirely online, without doing any drawing on paper. In that case, you could use either Youi or JanvasFinally, if you want to try some desktop tools, Inkscape if what I use for designing logos. (it's free glp software)Note: Most designers will tell you (and I can not disagree) you won't get the same result and it will requiere a lot of time and effort to get a decent thing. A logo is the face of a business/project, so I would suggest consult -at least- with a designer. (our answers here are for free, but we all must make a living). A tutorial on inkscape

My doctors and psychologists are underestimating my mental conditions and are making out it's not as bad as I claim. What should
Before I make a lot of suggestions to consider, regarding your current Doctors?, At the least, fire them, but get different Doctors first. Just because they are Doctors does not mean they are good ones, or that you are wrong and they are right. I have been in medical a long time, and there are many people working in the health field today unders who’s care a person could croak.I don’t know you and have no cause to assume you are a nutcase, so I treat you as a serious person, as I should. New Doctors always want your medical records sent over. If you are a cash patient or if your Insurance does not stipulate you must, you may want to: not have them sent, OR sign the Hippa Medical Release that allows the office to release them to you. This is the law. And you should do it immediately. Why?You would have the chance to remove “nothing is wrong with patient” (only Munchausen’s) that is what they say when they are too lazy or stupid to diagnose you so they give you a condition of a healthy person only pretending as they are sickening not sick and only seek attention from the medical community but are wasring everyone’s time. To get a fair shake, I would pull that alone and leave all else, get the fax# of new Doctor/s, go to where there is a FAX without your name and have their FAX and fax your Med records yourself. I don’t want you to hide a single lab report or anything else. But the truth I know is it is necessary to do everything to avoid discrimination and laziness and get a shot at a clean effort.First: I think you need to find and see what is hopefully a competent and kind Psychiatrist. A Psychiatrist and a Psychologist should/could both be competent to diagnose accurately, but in my estimation:A CORRECT DIAGNOSIS CAN BE INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT TO OBTAIN. And, you may have more than one thing happening.Another consideration I throw out (knowing nothing about you) NEUROLOGY is a different specialty and a different Specialist (Doctor). You MAY have something Neurologically occurring?I have worked in Sleep Medicine which typically falls under Neurology. I have Narcolepsy, disordered REM, the rare Parasomnia on 2 occasions. If you have something weird happening during your sleep (or intrusive REM sleep during your waking day) these can all cause problems that can present as mental at times.Back to Psychologist vs Psychiatrist: I do thing overall the Psychiatrist is more likely to be more well-versed and user -friendly with the concept of a mental illness. Also to prescribe medication. A thing to note: If you ever try a medication never forget YOU CAN UNTRY IT. If you feel AWFUL do try and call your doctor, but if it’s making you feel mentally worse or any of a host of things, stop.I did not know to try the following and don’t know if I would have gotten a straight answer: You don’t talk to the Doctor when you call for an appointment. You get the front desk person who is the least trained in anything. But maybe try asking the person to ask the Doctor for you (and you can call back) if they “also” happen to specialize in accurate diagnosis? When you said something about your “doctors and Psychologists” were you fully intending to say you had been to more than one of each and gotten an answer that to my understanding disregarded you frantically trying to get help about suffering mentally only to be blown off? Or are you frustrated and spoke in the plural because two was too many? Either is at least one too many. I was just curious.Feel free to get back to me if I can be of help. Best of luck. Truly sorry and concerned to know you have been and may well still be suffering. This kind of suffering is no fun, I can attest to this myself. It is FAR worse than a physical ailment.
