[Music] hello i'm dan sharp athletic director here at joliet catholic academy last december 16th the ncaa had their national letter of intent for football division one division two early signings we are so proud to have three of our young men sign on that day pat strocha who signed with drake university devon washington who signed with u.s naval academy in annapolis and drebel williams who signed with the u.s army at west point we are so proud of these young men not only for their accomplishments on the football field but also in the classroom not only were they very talented football players that gave their best on every play but they represented their school their family with dignity and class we are so proud of the hard work that they put in and now to see them go on to bigger and better things as they go on to college all of us here at joey catholic want to congratulate these young men and as representative of the athletic department and administration we give you our seer congratulations and wish you nothing but the best go [Music] help [Music] recently three of our hilltopper football players signed their national letters of intent to division one universities we have messages from their coaches as well as interviews with each of the players first up is senior defensive end pat strocha who signed with the drake university bulldogs pat just want to take a moment here to congratulate you on your signing with drake university i'm proud of your achievements on and off the field it's truly a culmination of all your hard work dedication over the years to get you to this point you deserve it we wish you nothing but the best good luck in the future go bulldogs pat strosha congratulations to your commitment to drake university it's going to be a great experience for you i know you'll do great just by how you work and perform inside the gym here congratulations and good luck to you in the future pat is coach mattel i want to congratulate you and your family on signing with drake university tomorrow i wish we all could be there i wish we would have a season but obviously it didn't work out but you had a great career at julia catholic i can remember you coming in as a very thin sophomore or sorry freshman and uh playing quarterback and telling your dad i think he should play defense but i think i was right i think you won't play quarterback at drake and you'll play defense there and you you've got some great days ahead of you so uh look forward to watching from from a distance you uh have a great career at drake thanks pat congratulations on the university of drake looking forward to four more years of great football from you i truly believe that the next four years will be your best four years congrats again go bulldogs hey pat congrats on university um when i was 19 years old i met your dad we were teammates for three years we've been friends a lifetime since that time so just remember one thing when you go to your next stage of life place for you i knew drake university was the right fit for me because it was a perfect atmosphere that fit my lifestyle and i loved all the coaches how has covett affected your commitment i think it affected me the most by not being able to do things i was supposed to do in person and i had to do them all online over zoom how has jca football helped you throughout the years honestly i can't even put into words how much jc has helped me throughout the years especially in football forming me into the player that i am now i like to thank all the coaches especially for coach jaws for giving the united states naval academy how did jca help you get there jcaa has helped me out in a lot of ways first with the teachers the principals and the whole staff as itself the coaches and my teammates and just the family structure there as well they all shaped me into the person i am today and i've just been so grateful to have them in my life your junior year of high school etory acl house it been coming back to football after that it's been very rough but um with the help of just my teammates friends family and god first it's been a great journey and i'm glad i went through it it shaped me mentally and physically i'm able to play the sport i am today because of my hard work and i can't wait to play in the spring if you're lucky to have it how is co would affect you to your senior year so far my senior negatively because i'm not able to go to school every day to see my friends and teachers it was also put my senior year of football on gold and in general just eliminated the outside sarah weiss and today i cut up with jabrew williams about his recent signing where are you committed the united states military academy at west point how did you know the army was the right place for you i have many service members in my family and i originally planned to serve after college football anyway so it was just the best route for me how has jca helped you with football jc has helped me a lot with football just because of the overall notoriety of the program 14 state championships many kids going off to play college football the next level it overall was just a huge benefactor in me reaching the next level to play how did covet affect yourself and your commitment kovid messed up a lot of stuff kovid messed up my football season covet kind of shifted the recruiting platform for a lot of schools therefore i was awarded some opportunities and some opportunities were taken away from me fortunately an opportunity that was given to me was contact with the united states military academy football team which resulted in me receiving a scholarship in order to play thank you jubrel we're so proud of you and we cannot wait to see what you accomplish in the army good luck
