hi and welcome to James Barr Learning and Development I'm Cameron and in this video I'll teach you how to mark class attendance you'll learn where to retrieve a students complete attendance as well as how to edit any past entries I'll also show you how to change the attendance settings so let's get to it starting on the attendance page within your e-learning course you'll notice you can immediately take the attendance of the most recent class session this box contains your class roster and drop-down menus with different attendance options you can choose from present excused and unexcused absences as well as tardy once you've taken the class attendance select the Save button if you need to make a change to the attendance select the edit saved entries button here now you can make any necessary changes and then save you can also view a student's past attendance for the course to access the students complete attendance select the student from your class list here now you can view the entire attendance sheet and easily see the days that the student was present and the days the student missed back out on the main attendance page you can access past class sessions using this calendar each day that has a class session is highlighted in blue selecting the day on the calendar will reveal the class attendance for that session again any changes can be made by selecting the edit saved entries button your attendance settings can be found out on the main attendance page under the calendar you'll find the settings option here the first option is to change the way the attendance is recorded the default option is whole sessions each student is either present or absent you can also choose to track by the hour or minute in each of these cases you would mark how much time each student was present for class moving on down are the notification settings here you can set warnings to be sent out if a student has had too many absences the first option lets you select how many absences will trigger an email warning you can choose number of absences or percentage missed next you can choose to receive the warning email of the student receive it as well as faculty members I'm also able to add other email addresses if needed if I feel the warning needs to be sent out more than once I'll select this button to manually resend it selecting the warning highlight checkbox will highlight a student's name on the main attendance page if they have a warning against them once you're done with your settings select the Save button and there you have it now you can mark class attendance you've also learned where to retrieve a students complete attendance as well as how to edit any past entries I've also shown you how to change the attendance settings thanks for watching remember to hit the subscribe button on this video...
