in this video, I'm going to show you how you can  make a letterhead in apple pages so you'll have   something like this, so you've got your logo, your  business address and maybe something in the footer   like a web address or something like this also  another option where you've got potentially your   logo in the top corner, but we'll go full edge  to edge printing so if as long as your printer is   capable we'll be able to do something, so you've  got a graphic that goes right to the edge or   basically butts right to the end, you can send  this both for print but also as a pdf so you   end up with something a bit more professional  than the normal run-of-the-mill letterheads   I'll show you that now what we need to do fire up  pages so start a new blank document in pages now   the header and footer actually appears when you  go to the top of the page and the bottom obviously   so you can see there's the header area and  if i was to scroll down there's the bottom so with that already set up we don't have to  do much here so if we just go to the header   i'm going to put in the address first again you  can decide your space in the fonts i'm just going   to use the defaults at the moment and we want to  insert a logo so if we go to this media icon here   you click on that and scroll down you've got the  option to choose that will actually pick up where   the images is on your hard drive or if you've got  your phone if it's on your phone and you've got   your logo on your phone you or your gallery you'll  be able to access it that way i'm going to choose   because it's actually at the location on the hard  drive i'm going to pick choose and we want cc fine   foods we'll insert that now obviously that's  a bit too big so we can just scale that down   paste it in there so that's similar to that when i  did it so what we've achieved is the logo address   and we've just put web address you might put on  there your business registration number your vat   details the tax contact details okay now we've got  the letterhead sorted what we want to do is we can   just save this as a normal document so next time  we load it we put our content in there and save it   but this way we'll always be right into this one  document so here what i'm going to do is just give   this a name this is cc farming foods if you're  never into italian foods and you're in the trade   you can certainly go to this company they have a  brilliant selection of foods for restaurants and   stuff like that so let's now take this and we want  to save this as a template save you could say this   is a regular document but as i said we want to  save this as a template this will also appear when   you're looking for a new uh looking to start a new  document so we're going to save this as template   add this to the template chooser so when you  start the program you have an option to use this   so yes add this to the template chooser it's going  to use the name we picked just before we selected   this option you can change it now if you wanted  to i'll go with this one and this is now obviously   in our default templates i'll create  that and that's our new template it's   come up as untitled now because it's used the  template so if we were to do anything in here   and then look to save obviously if we choose save  we won't be overwriting our template so our master   template is now safe and this one we're going to  do the edge to edge template so this will print   edge to edge on printer but also edge to edge on  pdf now we're going to be using a graphic that's   been pre-designed with those elements on there so  you could do the same thing yourself with square   boxes and stuff like that but i'm going to use  a graphic so if i go to pages we want a new one there's that previous template we created so  we're going to go with a blank okay so the   first thing we're going to do is basically  insert or we can go to media so go media   choose so it's the extra the rockets in this image  yeah the rockets in this image have actually done   darker than i would normally so they show on  video so i would have these a lot more opaque   so the text when it's written  over it would obviously be more   viewable so if i try to move this around if there  was any text on the page it would be moving the   text so what we need to do is if we go to arrange  we want this to stay on the page and we want   the text wrap to be none so this image we're going  to move it behind but this doesn't get affected by   the text well now just drag this out to the a4 it  will keep the constraints so we'll move that down   so we want that button to the because this is a4  perfect a4 we want this butted across the bottom   now we want this page obviously we're gonna  be able to write it so if we go to arrange   section layouts we want move object to section  layout let's move the image in effect behind   so now you can see i can write on this the  problem is i'm a bit high so now what i want to do   is find where the header is so that's documents  right hand side i want to go to address here   so i want to move this cursor down to about here 4.5 yeah, that's probably that's enough white space  underneath the logo obviously it might be a bit   of trial and error, so that's the document  if i wanted to i could so here I'm adding   again i could be put my tax details in, or vat  details so that's the letterhead edge to edge   printing so if i were to say this is the template  go to file save as i could obviously different   options I can save it as a normal document, but i  want to save as template add to template chooser   I didn't give this a name so a4 obviously this  is not a masterpiece if i want you to print it   obviously i could print but i won't waste the  paper but i can certainly save so let's export pdf   or i could have printed as a pdf as well anyway  so export pdf next i'm going to save this to the   let me bring that document  in there and that's the pdf as you can see it's gone edge to edge as i said i wouldn't  normally have this this dark because it's   not um ideal for accessibility i did do a  video on
