Now, if you ask me about the damage that i could have possibly doneI suppose every home as a SMART TV now connected to the internet.Imagine, its a fine Sunday evening and the family sat down together to watch their favorite movie in netflix. since my device is connected to their router already.Now, i stop their netflix time and how about flipping it to PORN ? ;)I can go on disconnecting their individual devices connected to the internet by using apps like NetCut, WiFikill and use their full internet bandwidth for my downloads.Those Apps works only if you have rooted access to the device.Apps like NetCut and WiFiKill gives information about the device name, MAC address etc which will be unwanted information disclosure .Next, I found a Host header injection/redirection attack on a e-commerce site.Basically , this is vulnerable to domain spoofing. Imagine, You see a facebook login page and you put your username and password and hit enter but, you end up on different website ? Similarly this e-commerce site was vulnerable to domain spoofing .I could have created a fake page of that e-commerce site and send users the link to login harvest their credentials. I might do black hat hacking to find vulnerabilities but, i responsibly disclose to help them mitigate the risk . Here’s their informal appreciation.Another incident , This is another e-commerce site which sells meat. I found cross-site scripting vulnerability in their web application.This vulnerability can be exploited by injecting a malicious payload and when a user visits that particular web page or web application acts as interceptor to deliver the malicious script to the user’s browser. This goes to an extent that of defacing the whole website which might impact the business. I responsibly disclosed this to their IT team and got received bug bounty and appreciation .Next, This is a big organization . I reported few vulnerabilities and they appreciated me for not exploiting but responsibly disclosing it to their security team.Next, This is kinda thug life story of my security professional career. This is a leading company which made it to fortune 500. I found reported a SSO bug (Single sign on) option. This lets anybody to login to a third party ticketing tool without any proper authentication. I reported this the security team and i got the most annoying reply.This reply of them didn’t make sense to me at all. So, i gave them the following replyI was really not convinced until this happenedStill, i was not convinced though.
