hey there service pros this is Christian from the workies product team in this video we're going to talk about how to create estimates and invoices directly from a job in workkeys you have a few different options for creating estimates and invoices you can create them as Standalone documents or you can create them directly from a job or lead while you can create Standalone estimates and invoices you may occasionally run into some trouble particularly because you can't go backwards after creating an invoice once the invoice is created and the money is collected you can't retroactively link it to a job by creating estimates and invoices from a job you can make sure that any money you collect on an estimate or invoice is tied directly to a job source job type service area and team member you can even take it a step further by starting with the lead but we'll focus on using jobs as the starting point in this one let's get started we'll start by opening the job we want to create an estimate or invoice for go ahead and select the estimates tab from within the job page after that hit add estimate we'll create an estimate from scratch by adding some items we'll hit send then wait for our client to approve the estimate once the estimate is approved we'll want to copy the items from this estimate back to the job because we can add multiple estimates to one job you'll need to manually sync the right estimate to the job by hitting this button right here once you sync the estimate all of the estimate data like the line items in any deposit you may have collected will be copied over to the job let's head back to the job itself and you'll see the job now has items and a balance that's from the estimate we just synced now let's fast forward a bit and say the work was done and we're ready to send an invoice from the job page we'll hit create invoice in the upper right corner all of the job items and balance will automatically copy over to the new invoice and because workies only allows you to create one invoice from a job everything will start to sync automatically once the invoice has been created from a job any updates to the items and payments whether updated directly from the job or invoice will automatically be synced both ways and that's it you're all set to start creating estimates and invoices directly from jobs subscribe to this channel for all the latest on how workies can help your business grow thanks for watching
