hey guys Jasmine here with IPS Learning Institute helping you to improve the delivery of health care by alleviating and solving the mysteries on the business side of healthcare all right so a our what is a are when we say a are in the billing in the medical billing world we are referring to the accounts receivables so accounts receivables are very simply services when they are generated by a particular patient those services that when they are received it automatically starts the process of accounts receivable which means when the client or patient receives treatment then there is an amount that's generated towards that service whether payable by the care insurance carrier or by the patient themselves and so when that paint that's essentially the timeframe before the payment is received we call that amount that that particular time accounts receivable so it is money that is very literally going to be received by your practice or organization for services that it's rendering to each of its patients and clients so we like to use the word AR for a few different things as well so if we look at the lens of AR we're specifically talking about accounts receivable sometimes you'll heal people refer to AR and they're really referring to aged receivables so accounts receivables are this the general sense of accounts so things that are being incurred and then being owed by the patient or insurance carrier and then the aged receivables is the time from when the claim or the patient account starts to then age so I'll do another video separately specifically addressing what age receivables are but it is basically the clock that is associated with the accounts receivables if you found this video helpful give it a thumbs up and if you're new here welcome don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss out on helpful videos that will help further your understanding of the business side of healthcare we post videos each and every week until next time my friends [Music]
