great idea so I'm going to keep it pretty simple the pricing that I'm going to give you is just a starting point okay these are National averages this is in no way indicative of what you need to charge specifically for your business but it will give you a pretty good idea and a good place to start okay so I'm going to talk about residential window cleaning today uh I'm in front of my house right now and most residential window cleaners they don't charge by the hour they don't charge by the square foot like we do in the pressure washing World they charge by either the pain or the window now charging by the pain or the window is pretty easy and it's pretty fair for both you and the customer and because this video is uh for beginners folks that are looking to just get into the business you're going to be a little bit slower in your process right you haven't nailed down all the techniques you haven't maybe got your water fed pole yet which speeds things up on the outside but if you're talking about interior windows you're probably going to be a little bit slower when you're starting out and if you charge by the hour instead of the pain customers might think that you're slowing down intentionally just to make more money and that's not what we want them to think so let's talk about quoting a pain is each individual piece of glass in a window now most Windows have multiple panes residential window cleaning typically cost and again these are just National averages between 10 and 15 bucks per window some higher some lower or about four to eight bucks per pain on average now I personally like to quote by the window it makes things a lot easier for me and we're just going to use ten dollars because it's a round number per window for this example now some windows are bigger you've got bay windows you've got storm doors so you can obviously up your price a little bit on those the other thing that you need to be aware of is what it's going to take to get the windows clean now if you have a water fed pole you're in a little bit better position if you don't then you really need to be aware of where you're placing your ladder so you can actually get to the windows that need to be cleaned there are some areas on the house that you just can't get to with the ladder because of the roof line or other structures and you need to figure that out and charge ingly for the time spent to get to those windows so we talked about the average price for exterior windows on the first and second floor which I said was between 10 and 15 bucks now you can add anywhere from three to five dollar dollars on top of that for stories that are higher than that obviously safety is number one there is no job and no amount of money that is worth risking your personal health or your safety something also that you need to remember when you're out there quoting window cleaning is to definitely have a minimum charge this can be based on your Target hourly rate and obviously you can use the hourly rate calculator in quote IQ to come up with that number based on your business's data also remember that you can upsell different services like hard water stain removal scratch removal cleaning the Sills cleaning the screens these are all additional services that you can add on which will increase your average ticket price and the longer that you stay at one property the better that is for you the more profitable that is for your business and that's what we want okay so let's talk about this house now uh like I said we're going to charge ten dollars per window to keep things simple and uh if you've got bigger Windows like this you can add a little bit more on but what we're going to do right now is we're just going to count the window so we're going to say one two three four five six seven eight nine ten and eleven okay eleven windows on the front and then we've got uh a little bit more glass on this and a little bit more glass on this so we're gonna call it 12 and 13. let's walk around to the side 14 15 bigger window 16 17 18. 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 okay we've got all these little ones okay so there's 2 4 6 27 28 29 30. so right now we're at 300 bucks for three sides of this house let's go to the backyard 31 32. 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 40 41. 42 43 44 45 and 46. okay so all in 46 Windows is what we're using for this calculation ten dollars per window that's 460 dollars that we're going to charge for this house like I said you try to keep it as simple as possible did I miss those two I did 48 Windows 480 bucks for
