you are right Taylor Brands is confusing they got me I thought I was paying only $349 and it ended up being charged over $650 very shady pricing tactics before we break down this comment I do want to don't make a mistake because we're talking about doing a review of Taylor Brand's LLC Services I did want it in the past but it's been about 2 years so a lot of things have changed but this comment right here that you see from my previous video sums up a lot of it it says I thought I was only paying $3.49 and it ended up being charged over $650 I wanted to do an update and actually purchased an LLC with Taylor Brands and see what's changed well a lot of it's actually gotten a little bit worse and I want to walk you through that very quickly now one of the things that I was going to tell you in this video is it's hard to get to this pricing page right here all right and one of the tricks you can do which I just discovered like a minute ago that I was wrong on is that you can go down to the bottom here and go to pricing but when you look at this pricing page page on their website in the resources here this is actually outdated and the reason I wanted to give that to you is it takes forever to get to this page it asks you like 30 different questions to get here the real pricing page that you're going to see is going to look something like this and this is the page I want to break down because there's a lot of red flags if you actually read through the terms and services which I'm going to show you which is not only just like oh here's a sneaky fee but we're going to throw an extra fee on top of it so in the light package it's $0 a lot of the services offer this it's $0 Plus State fee as you go through the process it's like get your $50 Amazon gift card that is not included in the light package nor is it included in the essential package you get a $30 Amazon gift card and then you get a 50 in this one these two packages here $199 and $249 that's per year but that is not the total cost and that is because you'll see things like this right here invoicing and bookkeeping free 30-day trial so that got me wondering like what is the free 30-day trial how much does it cost after that that is $30 a month after that and in my opinion invoicing bookkeeping stuff like that go with services that are tried and true not something that's being added on to an LLC and logo maker service all right so if you go through QuickBooks I have made this mistake I have actually created content talking about a Accounting Service and bookkeeping service that I am getting off of now and going to QuickBooks you don't want to get wrapped up into somebody's service that's going to be $30 a month and that's kind of expensive for a pretty um basic software as far as invoicing and bookkeeping goes that's kind of like the first kind of tricky thing cuz you're looking at you're like okay $199 cuz you might uh kind of graze past this but really you know every single year after that first month what are you looking at $360 on top so then you're looking at around $560 when they sneak in that little piece right there Then over here you can see that you get a domain and website well there's cost associated with that domain and website and my recommendation there for any of the services you go to just use something like Google workspace or Microsoft 365 to set up your domain and emails because it's all going to be in the the same system because you're probably going to use one of those two services to manage your email anyways another thing that I don't love about Taylor Brands compared to other services when we're talking about Taylor brands in 2025 is the fact that they have this expedited processing I think that they add a lot of extra time to their processing for your LLC so it says it can take up to 14 business days all right that's business days so not two weeks it's actually going to be slightly longer than that because the weekends and that's how long it's going to take if you don't do the expedited processing so if you go through free package just to assume it's going to take about 16 18 days for you to get your LLC actually processed I did this about like four or five months ago and I purchased LLCs from all the top online retailers they were substantially the slowest turnaround time when I went with the free package so they're trying to upsell you for $79 into that expedited now we're talking about these different subscriptions and the thing that's really concerning here is if you look at their terms and services which nobody does but I've gone through it for you the first red flag is in section 4 .5 it's talking about the fact that they will Auto renew you for subscriptions which is pretty standard but the thing I found concerning is that we'll automatically charge you up to 30 days before renewal period commences including all taxes applicable to that period unless you cancel your account before the renewal date they may end up charging you 30 days before which I thought a little weird right um but on top of that in section 4.2 they say most fees are non-refundable and if a refund is issued a $29 service fee applies so it's not like they're like restock stocking stuff onto a shelf they're just throwing a $29 fee so if you forget they charge you early and then you miss your renewal period and then you go to cancel you're going to end up getting a $29 charge just to cancel at that particular time so I'm going to show you the back end dashboard here because I didn't cover this on my previous review and that's going to pop open hopefully I always do this backwards but hopefully it's the card on this side right here you can click that is my previous review which is helpful because I actually get more into what an LLC is about so if you don't know things like registered agents or comingling funds I cover that in that video I also talk about a company called ink file in that video which is since rebranded to the company called busy which I'm going to talk about in a few minutes and why that may be a better solution for you than Taylor Brands but I wanted to go over a few things here we talked about llc's and domains invoicing and bookkeeping right this is going to be the service that's going to charge you $30 a month for this so I want to talk about this Boi report here and why I wanted to talk about this is this was not around when I made the last video and it's really important that you understand what it is and it's actually pretty fluid and changing all the time so down here it actually shows you right here it says it requires most businesses to file a beneficiary ownership uh information report disclosing information about its ownership to help combat Financial crimes and other law unlawful activities basically us government's like we want to know who owns these llc's to make sure that there's nothing illegal going on with it sounds good but what I'm seeing is a lot of services and I will put it on the screen if we can find the pricing it's very hard to find pricing with Taylor Brands they're overcharging for this now if you go to like e file Boi report right here um this is where you can go through Boi e filing and this is through the state government and what I would do is just file a boir and then I would do it um file online now it gets even a little bit trickier though with this and again this is off the beaten path we're talking about Taylor Brands this is for any LLC currently what is being investigated I believe it's in the state of Texas they're saying it is unconstitutional that the US government is asking for this information and requiring it so hopefully by this point this isn't required when you're watching this video uh but do know if you don't do this after 90 days of filing your LLC as it exists today of making this video that you can incur some pretty heavy fines for not filing this so I'll do updates in the description below uh based on what's going on with Boi filing reports but it's kind of up in the air right now one thing I like that Taylor brands does is they do have these licenses and permits and they'll identify them for you and you can get your required licenses it is an extra fee but thought it was worth mentioning in this video don't think that just because you got your LLC set up that you're ready to go into business like let's say like hypothetically like you're starting a restaurant and there's a bar so you have alcohol as well well you're going to need different licenses as far as operating a restaurant you're going to need a liquor license you may need a permit in the actual um business location these are things that can happen on the federal level state level and even down to the town level so these services like Taylor brands or I mentioned busy they can do these re this research for you and I mentioned that cuz I don't want you to miss out on that another common issue that people have is sales tax permits so uh this particular case is for Colorado but um you have to make sure that if you are selling items that you are collecting sales tax this is one of the most common issues that new business owners face that can really kind of just ruin their business before it gets off the ground is they have a decent first or second year and they never collected sales tax make sure you set up with that as well those are all things that you can do on your own though just by searching your state database same with the LLC um but in my opinion it's better off to use one of these services to set up and manage your LLC because they're going to give you lifetime alerts they're going to say hey you got to renew your service because they want to make a little bit of money if you use their service to do that it's an extra thing out there that's looking out for your best interest in terms of reminders and letting you know because the state does a terrible job of giving you reminders that you need to renew your LLC that is something depending on the state that you're in it may be every year or every other year but if you don't do it your LLC is no longer compliant and then you may end up creating extra liability for your business so my recommendation for most people is to go with a service called busy and you'll see it right here that in their basic package it's $0 plus State fee in Colorado it's $50 they do take 3 weeks now is what they're saying for the lower two tiered packages and one day in premium but you can do expedited filing for $50 instead of$ 79 which it is for tailer Brands it's kind of a bummer that some of these services are moving this direction but if you want it right away you can get it the next day for $50 uh but one of the things that I love about this service is you get a free registered agent service for the first year which is uh renews at $119 a year in the second and third year uh that service if you're not familiar it's just a third-party service that handles important documentation and communication for your business it is required by law that you have a registered agent in your state and they can't have a PO Box it's got to be an actual State address and they're going to handle this important information for you so at one 19 a year it's substantially cheaper than what you're going to find with Taylor Brands now in the other video I did mention that we have this LLC cost calculator and what this will do is you can put in your state and then you can see the top Services here and get an idea what the 5-year total cost is for those Services again all these resources here you will find in the description below including this cost calculator um but what the reason that Taylor Brands ends up becoming so much more expensive than busy and we're in the process of actually updating this because a couple things have changed with uh Taylor Brands is when it comes to these add-ons so like Taylor Brands your annual report filing I was talking about $199 busy $99 register agent19 busy zero I've seen them actually go as high as $249 for that registered agent service it kind of goes up and down a little bit um but those extra add-ons they really stack up and this doesn't even include things like we were talking about with the bookkeeping services uh the domain charges and everything like that that you're going to get when you go with Taylor Brands quickly I do want to make mention of the affiliate links in the description below when you use our links we do earn a commission but what we do is we donate
