roof [Music] First Step that I like to do is never Park on a driveway unless it's a really long driveway so I don't want to walk my ladder 100 yard in why because my truck might be leaking oil I know it's not but then it's going to stay in the driveway and it's going to cause a bad experience for the helmet step number one this is what I do doesn't mean what you do is wrong that's how I do it step number two is knocking on the door what I do I knock the door and then I move back what I do is creating some space so the homeo feel safe step number three is find a right place to place the ladder number one you always got to look up overhead check for wires we have a fiberglass ladder which is not conductive but you just don't want to do that you might cause an accident you might hit the wire so you always got to pay attention to 's a header on top of you that's the step number three just a tip when you setting your ladder make sure the surface is nice and flat why it has been raining for the past 2 3 days the ground is soft and let me show you why when you climbing you want your ladder to be nice and solid check this out look how soft this is so that's my tip on ladder the step number four is the tape I'm going to get all my measurements with this I'm going to use my Galaxy pen to take all the notes so I'm going to write down all the measurements and everything and also I'm going to get pictures with my phone put them on the CRM just a tip I like to tie my ladder down just in case of a wind just makes it a little bit more safe nothing fancy just a the same roof of the ladder I use it to tie down to one of the spikes for The Gutter and just a little safe tip just kind of walk in the roof recognizing identifying all the damage we standing right here you can see there's a nail pop coming right through the shingle and I can see there was some wind damage here before they fixed it already also the gutter on the back is full of water is hanging off front has couple missing shingles this chimney definitely need some problem check this out see how everything oops sorry so what's going to happen here let's say we do the roof chimney is not good they got a roof leak around the chimney who you think they're going to call the roofer the job we did is not causing a problem but they're going to call the roofer so it's my problem at the end of the day my job is identify the problems let the homeowner know see what they wanted to do if they decide to fix it they can hiire somebody else but I already did my part is letting them know hey there's a problem with the chimney it needs to be replaced needs to be fixed please go ahead and do it because it might affect my job ler down the road so if you provide this service is great if it's not let the homeowner know get somebody else that does we do in this case because they go hand in hand a lot of times the chimney is leaking it's not the roof but they call the roofer so step number six is pictures pictures pictures pictures I love pictures why because they keep you they could keep you out of trouble best things to do is do a video I like to do a video saying the address the town in the time that I'm doing this video why because a lot of roofers are shady now we're not shady but uh there's there are many roofers that can create urgency with older customers showing pictures from not their house so really important pictures all the time it helps the production it helps the scheduling the jobs it helps everything so pictures pictures pictures pictures step number seven is the measurement you can use the tape or you can get measurements from the internet there's different websites or different programs that you can get measurements and they will give you all the measurements that you need to give an accurate estimate they will break every everything down from the gutter Lanes the rakes the EES the Caps that will break everything that you need to know to give an accurate estimate I'm going to give you a tip that's going to save you a headache and you're going to say thank you gas for roofing every time you put the ladder on your truck every single time make sure you're tie it down because now we got to go talk to the customer and you might forget so every time that's it every time you put the ladder make sure you tie it down takes two seconds you got to do it anyway make this
