you can click on the link below and apply and if you're over ten thousand page views it's almost certain that you'll get in without an issue um and what you need to understand is that your representative will place ads for you but they don't know your site they don't know your traffic necessarily they don't know which posts really provide you the benefit or get the most viewership and so they just get the placeholders to make sure that you have at least enough placeholders for it to be viable and useful and to control building new income this by no means means it's efficient or going to provide you results that you would hope or expect today what we're going to be going over though is basically how to remove the placeholders that are there and rebuild placeholders based on your content and your analytics to hopefully help you produce the best results for your website i'm going to use one of my websites today that i'd already redone placements for but i would suggest sidebar floating because we're going to go ahead and show with q2w3 how you can do your floating sidebar ad and that can help your income grow decently because on desktop it'll stay presented on screen the whole time but while you're in here you want to come down and you're going to want to look and turn on native ad units these are like out brain so it's like a six recent post or four recent posts that if people click on you get paid for and they pay really well so i tend to end this on my blog at the very bottom as something that i end with because if they get to the bottom the odds of them going to another post is kind of small but if i can get them to go to somebody else's post and i get money from it then i consider it a win also so i would turn that on and then depending on your site it may need to be pg or it can be pg-13 obviously if you're pg then you got to make sure you change that so you stay safe so this is my website for pool buyer advice and as you'll see there's the zoo cad i don't tend to put ads on the front page because i don't think anybody's really going to go to the front page but if you were to go ahead and jump in and go look at uh let's just go take a websites on ezoic to do and did not just trust the representative putting them in you can actually activate the placeholders and what happens is you'll see them show up most likely this is how they default show up you'll see them at their full regular size and this kind of shows you how much real estate they're taking up so like the sidebar here i typically change these so they're a smaller ad because i'm not a big fan of these skyscraper ads because i think they detract from everything else whereas this just fits in and then for the bottom same thing so this is the top of your sidebar middle of the sidebar end of your sidebar and then you can have your floating after there because the floating will just follow it down so the floating one i don't mind the size because as you can see it's all white space over here anyway so if they add more then it's just more um possible income so that's perfectly fine by me on this side you'll see there's top of the page so what i consider the very top you know i have it under the page title so under the page title under the first paragraph under your second paragraph those are all fixed so when you put those in place you want to pick those because those will tell you performance based on them how assist that you know how much income comes from those specifically inside the analytics so you can kind of see how your ad slots perform for you once you come down here though is where in content starts these ones are uh best typically placed about every like four to five paragraphs depending on how you set it up i mean what you're hoping for with the the ad standards is to try and avoid you know more than two on the page at any one time so you shouldn't have this one in view and this one in view and this one in view all at the same time if you can possibly avoid it so you'll see that they flow off and then there's two right there's two and that's still close but do note that just because you put an ad slot in they're never all filled so just having these in contents isn't bad for you i know people who will come in and put them in every single paragraph which you could do i i don't need to i'm happy with having around 20 25 placeholders in content for the longer posts and then these sidebars and some of these mixed add-ins but as you scroll down you see that one flows off before that flows on right and there's another close one so this is always the problem of trying to balance these out is when i did this one this wasn't an option i didn't have uh the jquery active so i couldn't do a sidebar so all this was gone and it was just the content in which case i'm not trying to go from one two on screen at any one time but you will see as these go like this one the whole post only has seven content total and then you have the native bottom and then for some reason every time i add the bottom one down here underneath this recent content it pulls up to here but when it loads on the page on the website it's always down here so quirks of the online layout but see with this you don't have to go put in the placeholders yourself so you don't have to go manually into your content and add these in so you can add them all from here the only change would be that the sidebar can't be done from here because you have to install the widget and then you have to put the sidebar floating code inside that widget so we'll talk about that one second so for most people you're going to have the ability to install plugins and you're going to want to install a q2w 3 so this fixed widget um right now this runs this uses jquery to run to allow itself to be fixed so if you're on aquabato then you've got to do the code snippet to enable jquery so that you can actually start and enable the fixed widget the fixed widget plugin doesn't do anything for page speed or any crazy stuff all it does is that when you go to appearance and you go to your widgets it gives you the chance to put in so in this case you you always want to do a custom html widget then you paste that sidebar code from up here you go to the code right here and you just copy this and you would paste it into this box and then you check mark the box for fixed widget which just is what that plug-in does as it adds this box and tells it to fix it to the top of the screen so when it gets within so many pixels of the top of the screen it will just lock in place and stay there as they scroll through their content so this is what you need to do especially for desktop to maximize your income obviously it's not going to do anything on mobile because the sidebar is going to go underneath the content but that's why that fixed widget can be so good for your income and beneficial to increasing the money you make as each site is kind of different i i will say if you go over here to appearance you can go the actual fixed widget options and you can increase that space from the top so if there's more things at the top of your bar or your headers really tall or something maybe you need this to be 50 pixels for it to stick at instead of 10. same thing if you hit our footer and you see it's over overdoing the footer at the bottom of your page then you can increase this to a you know 100 so it would stop being fixed when it reaches that range to the bottom so you can do those things to help take care of any issues you may come across when you're using this so now that you've seen everything we're going to go through and actually do the ad placements just so you can kind of see what i'm talking about so i'm actually going to actively implode what i have here so if you take a second i'm going to go ahead and delete these the only one i'm not going to delete is the sidebar floating because it's the exact same code one way or the other i'll show you how to make it though and if anybody actually knows how to delete all of them please tell me in the comments below because this has been kind of painful to manually delete out all these one by one by one but you gotta do what you gotta do um i'll put the link for you so in the description below too just in case anybody hasn't signed up and is interested um if you're outperforming where you were at before all right so now we're done with this what i'm going to do is when you do this the sidebar floating you actually have to do it in here because it's not an option in that side because it's not a placeholder code that's useful so what you want to do is go into here you're going to go to create new placeholder and then you're going to say sidebar floating so you don't want it to go under so you want it to be the very bottom thing in your sidebar that's like what you really need it to be you can name it if you want to i tend to just go with our default and then this one the use recommended sizes is um just use their recommended sizes typically the ones that perform the best and give the most money i leave them on i i don't care with the floating sidebar because there's no other content around i can take all the screen real estate it wants on the side if it can make me more money then even more power to it and then all you do is hit save that'll give you this then all you have to do is grab this code to go put inside that widget all right as to placing the spots if you try if you try to do it from not logged out so as long as you're logged in and you try and do this it's gonna fail because you're not actually seeing it as a user you're seeing it as an admin so it doesn't see it as viable so you have one of two ways you can do this you can either sign out of your website in which case you can do it in here or you can go launch it in incognito mode because that won't be signed in as you which allows you to put them in if you want to do incognito mode you have to enable the plugin to function there so you actually have to go into your tools into extensions go to ezoke ad tester you go to details when you go down to details you'll actually have allow an incognito mode that you'll have to enable so when you do that then you'll have it available inside an incognito window for yourself and that's how i always do these that way i don't have to be signed in i don't have to think about signing in on how to sign out and then sign back in afterwards this way you come in load this now that we've changed the placeholders you want to come in here and just say update placeholders because we removed them all so now what you'll see is when we go in here there is no ads except for the one sticky widget because i left the sticky there so totally empty now what we can do is going back to my previous talks on the analytics is property taxes so what we can do is go to search we'll just search for property taxes and go find that post all right now what we can do here is go up to the zoic logo and then we're going to go ahead and create i leave it as automatically detect so this way i don't have to do sizing it'll find the space want to show you guys how you can place them all to be best possible so you can do the next like one would be to go to that first paragraph i move it under and you can change it and just say you know it's under the first paragraph right so under the first paragraph is another fixed location that they have once this one is done you'll see that it's in there so you see how it starts to get really busy with all of these blocks and all these things taking up space that's when i come in here and i'll go to view and i just change it to the indicators because i can more easily move around without it taking up huge chunks of space then you go back to create there's one for under the title so with acabato being there and all of this stuff being here i tend to try and put it after this so that my title and the headline portion is all together so that's under the page title and then from here is i'm just going to go into a kind of i think fast forward version of going through and placing because what you're going to do is last fixed location is under paragraph two right so under second paragraph so now you've gotten all the fixed positions so all the sidebar all of the stuff around the title area and the top which is obviously i would assume worth more money for people who pay for ads to be on your site because they're going to show up right at the top right above everything else like this is the section that people most time read if they just skim through they're going to read this first part anyway so these might be way more valuable from this point i try to scroll down and i try and look to see about where this one is gonna scroll off and then i look at what's here and i try and see what i think would be best so like in this case the image they're gonna scroll right past pretty quick so i would probably go like this and keep a paragraph so they're looking at the image with my ad in place or they're looking at the image with my add-on place and this is gonna be in content one and then from here we're gonna go just scrolling through the same way maybe i won't accelerate this and just make it so people can follow easy so you see this is just about to go off there so this is when you start to look at do you want it under the title i typically tend to put them above i don't want to break up the next section so this being content too that way when you get to the header they're going straight into the content for that header and not having to scroll past an ad i'd rather they scroll past the ad to get to the next header personally it's kind of a decision but see how this like that one's there they're not necessarily all on at the same time so you're just trying to balance this a little bit right this one's here so you know here would be way too soon but there's this one just after so you can do that and just place it right after that last paragraph and we can do in content three so as you go through and place these you're just trying to maximize the potential for your views of the page you know is busy but still be beneficial for the user and more slots isn't always necessarily better but since they're driven by an ai system providing them placeholders doesn't hurt you it can only benefit you in the long term but the other thing people don't seem to get is that they expect some change immediately but the ai system builds the placement and your income over you know hundreds of thousands of hits so like if you're only getting 10 000 page views with 20 ad slots it's it's can be months i mean really months we'll go over that in a second oh i forgot to delete the native so the native is placed down here right before the recent content i forgot to delete that part but now you can see it's not a whole bunch of ads specifically but i mean that's 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 and then for the bottom of the page will be 14. so what i do is i just do this and now we're at the bottom of the page which is the last actual fixed location so i mean that's 14 placeholders on a 1200 word post i i wouldn't go much longer than that for the shorter posts because otherwise it's gonna feel like it's jammed in especially if you actually have one where lots of ads will show up the other thing to understand is you're going to see more ads than your user will because you're not leaving the page because the ads are there the ads are going to be paralleling your users and not yourself so the ads here aren't going to be about pool equipment if the last thing i was looking at was sunglasses on amazon more than likely what i'll see here is a whole bunch of sunglasses ads it doesn't necessarily have anything to do about your site so you need to get past that point also in belief of what's going to be on your website so you can turn off the edit mode and then come into here and actually deactivate and you may see some ads most time after you do new placeholders it's gonna take i've seen it as fast as about 20 minutes i've seen it you know as long as an hour before they start to fill back in again as these all get placed and redone on their site in the back end so don't worry you're not going to see them right away you'll have to come back afterwards and see them what i would suggest from here though is you would move on let's see do i have anything i think i've got something that's longer one second let's see now let's do there that's a longer post so you can see so the one we did was 1200 words right so when i activate the placeholders on this website on this page you're gonna see everything that was a match to that previous page in layout and you're gonna see where discrepancies occur so as you'll note there's under the title under first paragraph but you'll notice that there's no under second paragraph that's because this post didn't match up to the previous post where we'd set them up so the ads are placed based on the content similarity this is this is why sometimes the stuff that the reps do for you isn't going to match up perfectly because your posts may not be exactly the same formula formulaic content so you're going to have to look at some of these other posts and go oh well maybe i actually need one in here or you're just losing out on anything that would be under the second paragraph right you lose the possibility of making an ad income from those placeholders so what you want to do is go look at some of your long stuff and go see how this lines up because you'll see that one's pretty good i mean it's going to be one image but as you scroll down after they read those first 300 words they're not going to get another ad until the very native bottom ad this is why you want to go look at those longer content after you do your your travel pages because this is still set up for ads but it isn't optimal for a longer post so you want to go through here and add those same slots like you did on the other pages and the longer the content the more the more placers you have and i think there's a max of in content at 50. i've only hit that i think when i did like an 8 000 word post where i was putting them in and you know at some point you have to start balancing out where you put them in versus not put them in i would suggest taking the time to go through and look at a few of the longer posts compared to the shorter posts and you'll start to see some of these discrepancies if you see a lot of discrepancies in your site sometimes it's easier to just delete them all and start fresh like i did here so that way you can just go place them all and you can put them where you would like them to show up on your page the plugin is like two seconds to install so in this case with the video being above if they're going to watch the video i'd love for the ad to play beneath so what we're going to do is we're going to put one right below there hoping that they're going to choose to play the video and if they play the video then my ad is going to sit there for a long time and the length of time will help give performance to that money cost for that ad so when you go down same thing you're trying to just space these out where they're always going to have an ad on screen making you an income but not where it's going to be detrimental to your viewer and this doesn't even take into context how you want to do ads for mobile because on mobile this is going to be like three and a half pages of scrolling down right so you can actually come in here and put in some mobile specific ads or um like i did i turned on the ai for mobile so that it will just do it for me so you guys don't need to see me keep scrolling down and doing this so i'm going to go ahead and stop this part i'm going to jump back in at the monetization just to show you where the ai placeholders are so it'll help you guys make sure they're turned on for you and that way they're optimizing mobile placement outside of you having specific placeholders for them all right and we're finishing off on the last bottom page placement for this longer post so i'm going to go ahead and turn this off we're going to close this up what we're gonna do is go back over to monetization and then if you refresh what you'll see is this come back in now you'll see all your placements there so you'll want to go to monetization you want to go to add tester and then turn on or off settings and then this one i've had unsuccessful results with it placing its own sticky sidebar ad you can try it yourself i give you credit if you can make it work i couldn't make it work which is why i went with the q2w3 and just making a manual code that you inject into it this is where you turn it on though so that it's an option inside the placeholders for you when you're working on the site but what you want to do is turn on this ai placeholders this one will manage additional ad locations especially inside mobile right now they're working on one for desktop it'll help optimize more specifically but you want to make sure this is on and then once you've got those in place i mean now you're going to have to do the the waiting game um i can jump over one second let me see if i can find i want to take a look i've got a section that kind of explains the uh i have too many pages now guys okay i think it's that one so when you come in here what you're gonna see is the combinations so this is just my how to set up a zoic ads which was kind of like what i started with before this when i realized that video may help everybody actually do this far more effectively so when you're looking at this part though you can see so the number of placeholders really will matter so if i've got well over 30 because i've got three pages so i'm what 20 24. i've got 24 right now so to test ad slots that's going to need 17 million 259 000 views to maximize effectively so if you're not getting a high amount of page views it's going to take time so you're going to have to wait and it's going to get better and better as time comes in and more page views are able to occur so once this is in place really honestly the focus should be on just getting content out there so that you can get people to your site so you can views because even even if you only did 10 placeholders that's a 142 000 page views combinations that could be tested so i would expect most people should be in this 25 to 40 range because depending on your site and how long your posts are you're going to go longer but i mean you're going to see as these escalate up that's 190 000 different combinations right that's 190 000 page views of possible combinations it's gonna take a long time and you gotta be patient and that's why i feel that is though can get you better returns than a lot of other ones but you have to be patient while the ai optimizes everything it can for every view that you get and unless you're getting a hundred thousand views a month you know where you could test one of these i mean if you had a hundred thousand views a month you're only optimally going to be placed if you only had 10 placement holders you know if you have a hundred thousand views a month that's 12 months to optimize totally for 15 placeholders it's gonna take time so don't don't shortcut and think that ezoex works for you or that it won't perform as well as media vine or anthra for other places there's just different things in play and depending on your niche maybe one of those other ones will make you more money a hundred percent it seems like mediavine is highly geared towards creators like uh food bloggers and mommy bloggers and you know lifestyle blogging that doesn't mean that a niche on blogging is going to make more money there and ad thrive is the same thing they're very focused on their core group so without their core group it may or may not benefit you but the thing is is if you leave here at 10 000 page views and you go to or so you leave here at you know 50 000 sessions and you go to mediavine even at 50 000 sessions if you had 25 placements you are only through a 10th maybe of the of the combinations to have made you effective on a zoic so really it's the time and it's the thing that makes people jump the fastest is immediate gratification instead of optimized gratification so sometimes not moving is beneficial for you you just have to build patience and i mean it's the one thing us bloggers should have i mean you built a website and waited eight months for it to get you know the first thousand page views uh like literally jumping the gun every single time just because somebody said then that you're maybe cutting yourself because mediavine may get you more money immediately here but it may never go anywhere so that you were ten dollars you know ten dollars epmv here you go to mediavine you're 20 right you're super excited but if you'd kept with this maybe this one gets to 30 35 towards the end you know full optimization in which case now you've been costing yourself 15 a month every month from that point forward but you're like oh well i'll move back well when you move back you've got to go through this whole time frame again because new placeholders is going to be new optimization it's new time so you're going to start back down at 10 and you're going to be upset but you're upset because you can't just jump the gun you can't jump out that's not saying it's not the right move i'm just saying you have to think more than just instant gratification wise and then for those who haven't been to my site uh pro blogger income just is a collection of everything as i try to help people figure out how to work with aquabot or how to you know work with tools that exist like mlinks pro on api and 90 day cookies versus 24 day cookies with amazon and you know why you want to worry about that i put up ninjas all the time just for people that have a chance to look and see what exists i just want to be helpful overall i would love to have you guys come by anytime and look it's running faster i had to move off of some poor choice in hosting over to cloud waste so now this is running on cloudways and it's much more snappy and much more fast and efficient hopefully i helped you understand how you can use the placeholders and the tools so that you can actually get your ezoke running faster and gaining more income for most the people that i've redone them for i think the average has gone up by 10 to 20 percent um with some growing more than that i to this point haven't seen anybody's go less but with focusing on the content that gets all of your views should your placeholders lay out on those pages at least and i would really go focus on those top five trafficked pages you have as to where those placements are and what you can see as gaps now that you've
