This is a good question, and it is one I've received in several variations and in an even more diverse set of circumstances. Some have tried to find a way to sign in from the outside, while others have tried to create something like an iPhone app. I've heard about several that allow you to use a Bluetooth keyboard and keyboard controller. To try to understand the answer to this question, I'm going to look at the various ways of doing this, why it's not a good idea to do it, and how to do it that is as painless as possible (in terms of usability and security).
One way to get around the issue of having physical devices in the way of signing in is to simply sign in from the internet. If you use a smartphone to sign in to your Google account, you have this option. If you have an iPhone or iPad, however, you won't be able to use this method. I've written about the technical considerations of signing in via the internet and why those are important before, but for my purposes, I want to address this question from a security viewpoint, so I present to you the following examples of what you can't do:
