wonderful thank you well thank you very much and good afternoon everyone as kerry mentioned i am brian york account executive here at opentext and i want to thank you all for taking a few minutes out of your day to join with us this afternoon you know whether you're joining from your living room or your kitchen or your home office or maybe you've had the opportunity to get back into your workplace either way it's it's great to have you with us today as we share a little bit about document transformation made easy this is a topic that's been um you know pretty interesting to me over the past couple months as i've been talking with different customers and having various phone calls you know not that it's a new topic or new concept but a lot of the discussion that i've been having with them has been around you know the changing environments that they're working within or the shifting circumstances that have come about over the past few weeks from all that we've been going through and some of the key pieces to that have been around you know why you know what can we do to you know become more efficient in our content processing workflows or uh how can we work more securely with our content or better yet you know how can we save some money and how can we reduce our cost so you know we're going to be touching on that today and you know i'm really happy to have you here with this uh to go over that um with me today i'm just gonna see if i can shift this line here with me today i've got my colleagues and subject matter experts derek chapin and dave hinkle as carrie mentioned they're going to be going through the how-to and walking us through a demonstration of some different ways that we can accomplish making digital or document transformation easier but before i pass it over to derek to walk through a demonstration for us i just wanted to quickly take a minute and and level set around what is document transformation um you know the reason i want to do that is if you were to go to google today and type in that search bar or bing or yahoo or whatever you use type in that search bar document transformation and you get that results back if you take through a number take a look through a number of those results you're not going to find a lot that mirror one another and the reason for that is document transformation can really mean a number of things to a number of different people or businesses it really depends on what you're doing and what you need to do with it so i wanted to take a second and kind of level that around you know what is document transformation kind of give that foundation for where we'll go with things today so you know a good example or to really simplify it back you know document transformation can really be something as simple as you know you've got a file or a piece of content that you need to change its purpose in order to get um you know a resulting file or format that you can then use for an alternative purpose so basically taking one thing changing it into something else for for a new use and that's really the simplest way to look at it you know when i think of my date today an example of that could be around you know i have an editable word document and i want to change that into a read-only pdf file so what do i do i load up word i save that document i export it as a pdf and there we go i've got a read-only copy of something i can send onto people so really simple example with that example also brings up kind of a use case around it too where when looking at document transformation you know i just talked about how i would go into word and save that file out a lot of aspects and process around this document transformation are really manual now if you think about it a lot of what we do and interact with our content we're doing it ourselves but there's got to be a better way and to set the stage for what derek's going to get into in a minute you know let's try and think let's get the gears going what does document transformation mean to you is it as simple as converting emerging documents from one file format to another like i just shared about that word um you know something that's come up with a customer that i've been talking to is around you know securing their content what can they do more with their content to make it more secure so you know they have an employee that sits down and does performs redaction on their documents well what does that mean that means that they sit there they go through searching through contracts personnel files finding birth dates and social insurance numbers or security numbers redacting those out on their desktop and saving that file to take its next step in their workflow so it's a very manual time consuming process you know to take that one step further as far as document transformation you may be in a situation where you need to provide um you know a bulk of content or either a compliance review or an audit or potential legal lead discovery so at that point you know you need to standardize documents down or remove private information from them before passing those off to a third party reviewer well at that point we're talking about not just tens of documents anymore it could be hundreds thousands if not millions of documents and the manual processing behind that can be very cumbersome so you know when we take a look at document transformation again it can be very manual it can be very inefficient and with those manual processes it's error prone it can be time consuming and really it results in and things being expensive so i go back to those conversations i've been having with my customers around you know how can i save money you know removing some of these manual processes is likely a way that you can really you know kick things off and get going to the next level so for us and why we're here today to talk about document transformation made easy one way to do that and the way that we wanted to talk to you today is around automating that process the way that we do that is with our blazon enterprise platform you know i'm not going to spend a lot of time diving into the ins and outs of what blazon is derek's going to do a great job of that in a minute here walking us through some use cases and workflows and showing us in context really what it can do and how powerful it is but the thing i want to leave you with before i pass it off to derek is to really think about how what the goal we're trying to accomplish here is making our workflows and our document transformation easier we want to bring in a platform or a solution that's just as easy to work with so you'll see that when derek takes a walk through things here but you know it can be as simple as you know setting it up as a standalone solution that you know you just get the value out of it that's running behind the scenes or it could be a solution that you could integrate into a more complex environment like a more advanced enterprise application ecosystem where it's just a cog in the wheel in the background performing some of these automations regardless it's it's an easy platform and it can provide a lot of those benefits that we've talked about to kind of mirror those conversations i've been having with my customers today so i'm hoping you find some value out of it but i'm not going to take any more time here talking blaze onto the product because derek's going to do an awesome job here showing you all how it works so from there derek i'll pass it over to you and you can run us through some examples and hopefully we can see some value in that excellent thanks brian that was a great intro good morning good afternoon good evening everyone that's out there um it's great to be a part of this webinar um of course i'll take any human action interaction at this time over the my six kids um this is i i'd actually rather be here um so we're in wild times right now brian touched on that a little bit um and i imagine many of you could be here right now because of of these of these trying times we're we're in a time where there is requirements being put on your organization to handle content quicker and faster and more reliably store this content in a form that can be accessed by your teams which could be anywhere now um not just in an office and that leads us to to this demo um in today's story we're going to walk through the the the day in life of danny he's going to be a contact manager for a large insurance company that that's actually representing a real open text customer his job is to bring new content into his organization's repository and he needs to ensure that this newly acquired content comes into the corporate repository a certain way and is ready for consumption as quickly as possible and he does this success successfully by using blazon we're going to go through three specific use cases today we need to import some warehouse content that's been that is time to be uh transformed into a form and stored into our acl that warehouse content is going to need to be ocr then convert it to a pdf format as per our the requirements of our organization then we'll step through uh we just acquired a new organization and we have sales receipts that we need to bring in now these sales receipts we're going to see that they of course need to be ocr to convert it to pdf but now we have some content that actually needs to be redacted as well and we'll go through that and then our third step is not only does blazon help us put content into your ecm but it can also help us when we need to take content out of our ecm in this case danny has been asked to build a case file for the legal department which could include an external vendor so we're going to need to take this create a packet and take this content ocr it convert it to pdf and we're going to need to redact any information that should be removed and we're even going to pretty it up with a table of contents because this one pdf file will be made up of multiple files so anything blazon can do all that now danny does this using his uh just a common uh workflow process that maybe many of you are very familiar with there's nothing magical here to see we have a starting workflow where in this in this case there could be multiple types of documents brian touched on where blazon can can take in office docs we can have scans we can have pdfs we now have screenshots we could have people um that are located off site that just want to take a screenshot of a document and and they email it out to us well that's that's just going to be in a jpeg or maybe a png file we need to take all that that external content we might need to ocr or redacted we talked about in our case that or our use case that we need to create a table of contents so we need to make those decisions through this this workflow and then all to get it ready to create a pdf and then once that pdf is created we're going to capture that and put it into your repository blazon right out of the box can do that middle part with with right after install an hour from getting the license key you can be creating pdfs from all your content you could be ocr in all your content uh running redaction scripts to this running um inserting banners and watermarks right from out of the box with some integration which uh blazon comes with a very powerful api with some integration you can even use blaze on to take it to the next step and then and integrate this into your ecm and we'll see some of that today so with that let's actually take a look at what this what danny's uh workstation will look like now in this instance we're going to have i i have this set up for us to get started um and some of this is a little bit for the just the bling of the demo so normally this wouldn't have all these folders open to do is say but it it'll be nice to kind of see things happen and if we remember our first step was to take a bunch of warehouse content and bring this into our ecm system here you can see in this folder i have i have png files so we're going to say their screenshot excuse me screenshots we have some pdfs we also have some a bunch of tips let's let's take a look at some of these files and what are we dealing with here we're clearly not dealing with with anything that's searchable this is just a scan of a document um we can even see the png um these are just really old old content that's been quickly uh scanned or somehow gathered and is now ready to go through our system but again as we talked every all of our contact us in our ecm system it needs to be ocr it needs needs to have that and be in a format that's standardized so we're going to to go ahead and drop that we've set that blazon up right out of we've installed blaze on and we have we've set it up to monitor a folder and so as you can see here it is monitoring this watch folder and it's very quickly started putting content into just again just for us to see the and kind of document the flow that's happening it moved it into another folder as a pdf before it went into our ecm system so now let's log into our ecm system and open up and we can see okay it's 215. we have a bunch of content in here and let's take a look to see what content we have for today so far we have two files have come in and we're just gonna wait a little bit longer yes we can see by the time stamp that these are the content the content that was was sent over through blazon and while we're waiting for what's happening now is as it goes through file 360 it's running through an index process and because it was ocr by blazon and what we can do is let's take a look at the content that we have so far we're going to open up the the content that was just put into our ecm through file 360 actually is incorporated into or uses uh the brava viewer which is a nice um nice cameo for another powerful product of opentext and in here we will see that we have the contents arrived inside of here we can see here that look at the table of contents we're looking at both of the i'm sorry as always of course during a webinar seems to be just going a little slower than anticipated but what we can now see we can see here that we have the content in here and it's available if we're going to check to see if it's searchable whoops if i spell it correctly we can see that we're pulling up information we can also sorry about that the typos you can also see on the files 360 side here let's see if the the other files okay retrieved yeah there we go now now we're starting to see how the content is i think the system had kind of fallen asleep a little bit during during the first part of the demo of preparation but now that it's awake and things are moving we can even see we can do a search within our file 360. if we treat one docume t that we just put in there and we can clearly see that it was able to find the air bill that we had just sent through our blaze on workflow and is now sitting inside our ecm and so that is the basic that the basic setup for for blazon that's the fair minimum that it can do now let's take a look at a little bit more um to to the blazon machine and so now we're going to take and let's actually take a peek and we'll see in here we've already kind of seen that all we have for today are just the the air bubbles that we just imported in and then we're going to we're now going to move into the travel receipts folder remember our second use case that we wanted to go through which had a lot more steps to it is we also wanted to run some reduction i can also say because this is coming from uh a newly uh a new location we're gonna put a uh some um banners on there to say where is this content coming from and let's see what else liaison can do for us but the big step being said i should open up let's take a look at what the content is that we're dealing with so we're dealing with a typical um just travel expense report but on here we have so we have personal uh phone numbers and email addresses along with credit card information that that is clearly that's going against our pii regulations for our organization so we're going to need to remove that information before it actually ends up inside our this repository for consumption by the by our outside uh force our knowledge workers so now let's take a look and see if it's been brought in and we can see that okay and now that everything's awake it's it's actually pretty quick it was able to take these five sources in here um let's see here if we were able to search on on the name but what if we were to actually search for some content that's inside of the document we have two pieces of information we'll open up just one and let's see what blazon did to this to this content we can immediately see that blazon's removed the the cell phone information the email address we have found another phone number down here credit cards have been credit card information has been removed we were able to this is kind of nice for the demo to demonstrate how we were able to take token information metadata from the original content and put this into the new file so i i grabbed the title the file name of the original and put it in here as a banner from the top on the side we put some hard fast information about where this came from so that that's always with this content you can see how valuable that could be when you're dealing with thousands of files and you want to be able to keep track of where all the all this content originated from you can make that as a banner we can also as there's plenty of policies out there that might say across a watermark that says internal use only or redacted or some type of privacy stamp all all in all this happened with just in this workflow because of blaze on being installed we can also see in here we saw that the info the cell phone information is gone but it is truly gone if i was to do a search or that cell phone information it can't be found it's not there and it's not just part of this document and also let's take a look at the pa information bring just a search on that but i was to say search for the 602 it also redacted the information from the indexing process that that information that we have deemed as pii has been removed and is is not will it cannot be searched on or found it in any way so from there that that's great those hit the two things pretty easily but now let's let's actually take a look at how how blazon did this let's let's now dive in a little technical behind the scenes what did we do to make blazes on work this way as i said the the uh prior to showing this all we've done is install blaze on and we were able to do that um within an hour we were able to get blaze uninstalled with the license key put in place to to run and then with the the admin guides and the tutorials that come with blaze up we were able to quickly see that we're just using a push call to a push.aspx call to make blazon uh do fall into the the footsteps that we needed to fall into and the best way to to before we jump in to see what we've already shown i thought we should start with the minimum the minimum build of a of a push.aspx call that blaze on wood would execute and so here we can see the push.aspx call for blazon is made up with just a bunch of parameters um here's the bare minimum that it needs it needs a source file a target and an output and and i thought well this would be a great place to start to just see how this see how to see it in action so let's go back here minimize this we're going to clean this up a little bit let's open up this output folder which is empty and we're going to do that basic push call this push call we're grabbing a cad file we're grabbing a kadpa this is a great example to show just the full strength of blades on because this is a huge win for organizations i don't want to put cad stop viewing software on everyone's machine and so we can easily take cad files and convert this over into a pdf and now let's open that up and we'll see that that this cad file can now be actually consumed by any member in your organization even if they don't have the cad software on their machine we can see that not only did did we bring in the the imagery that this is a two-page file that we're looking at here but that we can also hear this we can also see the layers have been brought in and respected it was it is fully um valuable all the the the angles that you would want to take a look at a cad file are available to you here there now that we can see that was done with just this push.aspx call with three calls telling it to grab a source file to put it in a location or put the output into another folder and make it a pdf and we can take that and we can grow that into what what we've already seen in the beginning of our demo in the beginning of danny's job we were able to create a push.aspx call that told it to instead of looking at a file we can tell it to look at a folder and now monitor a folder for any for anything that's been added there and then we have um we tell that we give blazon uh output location so any files that it grabs from the watch folder it puts into the input it then moves it over into our file 360 location we told it to do it as a pdf um and we wanted it to ocr and then of course the register directory equals true that actually turns it on and that's all we had to do to set up a monitored folder location in order to to take all the air build information and convert it to convert it to pdf and then store it inside our file 360 folder then if we take that and again continue to grow on what we're seeing here we then can move to what we did in the sales receipts watch folder which we have the same same common uh uh parameters where we tell it what what folder do we want to watch the source folder we tell it where to put it it's the same location as the air bills we want it to be in a pdf format we want it to be ocr of course but this time we added a red action script call this redaction script is worth spending a little bit of time here this is just a simple wrench regex fix call regex expressions put into an xrs file which is we'll take a look at which is similar to an xml file um blazon out of the box comes with a bunch of macros that that um make building these reduction scripts easier that let's take a look at that now but here's an example of that redaction script we tell we have we were able to use fully all the macros calls from from a blazon out of the box they had a u.s phone number they had a macro a credit card macro and an email macro um and we're able to build this now we are also able to use bravo desktop to help us build these these redaction scripts i actually use used uh the bravo desktop to do that here and that made that created this sales pii xrs and then i was able to take that and insert it into the blaze out call and we were able to start redacting all our content using that using whatever um file that we included then the next line we also saw that banner information we had we added watermarks and banners that was done with just adding us a sales uh xml file that i call salesbanner.xml you can take a look at that here that is and again this is all something that right inside the the blazon documentation is all fully provided not to mention an example document can be graphed that can then be filled out and we were able to put we were able to use token information here as you can see in these two examples where we added title and we added the date and then you can see where we also added hard-coded information all along the the sides where we said right right center and left center and that's how and you can see there's all sorts of options here for for this banner information makes it very easy to to customize and to configure to your to your organization's requirement and then of course once we tell it say the registered directory equals true then fallout this this folder as our input was turned on and ready for monitoring as you saw again once everything was ready to go it was it happened very quickly and was was very very efficient and now let's go back we remember there was one more thing left that was that was part of the case not only can blazon put content in but we can also take content out and so let's take a look how that works so we could also and we have a an uh customer an opentext customer that actually does this where they have a need where when they're inside their pcm and if they need to build a pocket they can come along here and then instead of viewing now i'm this is a little bit of behind the scenes magic but they have a doc merge call that they can then call that will then run a dark dark merge doesn't sorry doc merged process of those documents and you can already see it's already started the job and put this inside my output folder i can see it's already done let's open that up whoops oh no let's see hold on sorry it's going through the process what we're doing here let's take a look at oh there it is now it created this new pdf and what we want needed to show here because we're taking a bunch of documents and combining them into one pdf as our requirements state we need to put together a table of contents this used to be a process that someone had to get out get word out and and build this for them and now this is done automatically for them through blazon and we can see each one of these files are added and of course they're they're redacted over here the jpeg also see there and we even have we even added a word document in here to kind of define what what we're looking at what we have here and now it did this through the magic of blazon by again building just a push.aspx call and you can see how where before you saw in the first example that had source equals had a uh draw cad drawing but we can actually do multiple sources if we wanted to as we did here multiple sources so so we have uh several files that we wanted to put into the output folder and then we wanted to be a pdf we needed to ocr we needed it to have a redaction script and we wanted here's the new parameter a create a table of contents and once that url was built voila it was able to it was able to do that and create the file in question so as you can see all those tasks that danny needed to do [Music] was handled by going by running the blazon and setting up a few watch folders and setting up a few calls now let's go back to the powerpoint it was able to run through the operation do the ocr required do the redacting that was required when asked it was able to build a table of contents create the pdf and even through a little bit of excuse me a little bit of effort it was able to put that right into our ecm for us and again right right out of the box um i can you've heard me say that quite a few times because as an sc that's really exciting for us to be able to talk about a product that we can quickly and easily set up for poc set up in production um it's easy to deploy the blade we saw how easy it was to actually set up a blaze on monitor folder um and that we could have multiple folders on this rarely do any of us especially when we're dealing with content have just one one workflow process that we have to manage we have multiple well blazon can can be set up to handle multiple uh watch folders and multiple workflow processes can be enhanced at the same time by by sending up liaison you saw i kind of talked on talked of our third step of doing the doc merge i kind of demonstrated a little bit what that api could do um there's more that with that api to build some of those monitoring the workflows is this product has been integrated into many ecms um and into many systems to to accomplish all the things that that brian and i have talked about and it can be scalable that's needed um as we saw it's we were only doing five at a time but it and it's relatively quickly but we deal with many customers that have that are dealing with thousands of pages and thousands of documents on a very regular basis and because of the way blazon's been engineered it is very easy to to scale to the performance requirements that you that your organization would make so hopefully you would agree with us that we we believe that blazon strengthens the control and compliance of of any organization that takes advantage of it well you can see how it can automate very time consuming manual processes these the redaction process the ocr processes are are highly valuable uh requirements of content nowadays and it it needs to be done we've seen a huge uptick in redaction demand because of pii and other regulatory rules and blazon has just fit right in to solve those problems blazon has improved the content accessibility because it can more quickly get the the knowledge workers the content they need um right right right out of the gate without having to first going through um the content going through as in in earlier days when it would have to if you made a request for a piece of content it would have to then be checked to make sure it doesn't need to be redacted it would have to be checked to see if it needed to be watermarked or stamped with certain rules none of that needs to happen now it doesn't need to go through those workflows before you can get contact come into the hands of your knowledge workers and then the cost because of how easy this is and how how um simple blazon makes it the the cost drop we could quickly go through um we'll probably breeze through this um what did we see today we saw we saw blazon at very high level published in the pdf they can also publish the tiff or even csf which is an open text um format that is used for when you need high security um and take advantage of other content requirements maybe as like time bombing a piece of content so it doesn't have to be pdf you saw a side banner and watermarks not just static banners or watermarks but we also added metadata watermarks but you can certainly add legal statements as you can see the status or draft um you could have stamped on their a logo we were talking with a organization just just the other day on being able to automatically stamp an engineering logo through all their content when it goes through a workflow so somebody doesn't have to manually put that stamp on there if we're dealing with tiff files which is not uncommon we can we have lots of controls where blazon can rotate split merge and they can do all sorts of stuff we can also burn in the markups um we didn't really touch on that today because of the how much we wanted the show with with a little bit of time but certainly it's if if you are familiar with bravo the bravo viewer and you know the power of their markups you can use that inside of blazon as well you can also i never touched on that the source files are never modified um the the output the the final files that end up in the ecm with the redaction over the watermarks and whatever else is done but the source files are meant to be able to not be touched so they can be stored in some type of archiving system or whatever your requirements are you saw the redaction in its glory through thi along with the ocr and we didn't touch them up with the right license key you could also do transforming uh 3d models if if that was your need it's worth mentioning that i have seen dave and i and bryant have all seen blazon benefit just about any industry out there you have the life sciences the hr the the public sector energy financial services the examples i use today actually came from a long-standing customer of ours that uses plays on a law in the financial services industry but any one of the these industries could be touched on today i tried to touch on a little bit of of the hr by using the sales receipts um but as it's not hard to imagine that each one of these industries requires that that stores content is is in a situation right now where they need to find a way to more quickly get that content ready for consumption and that that concludes my demo i i know that there's probably lots of questions normally when i when i do the demo with a live audience we have lotsa come out so dave how did the questions look uh they look they look pretty good derek and uh and thanks for you know good job showing us the uh the whole process of going from a image scan to uh text searchable uh indexed content and there's a number of questions uh in the queue so i'm going to try to go through them as quickly as i can i'll throw them out to either you or brian or uh to try to answer and i'm going to uh i saw that there was a question early on about uh nkc discovery uh i think you know we will uh probably provide some information of that offline but uh i guess the short answer is there is a lot of overlap um and they it wouldn't necessarily be that blazon would be used in conjunction with it but it would depend on the specific types of functions that you need to do whether it's something that encase can't do it might be something where you know that would be where you might pull blaze on and for just part of the transformation uh here's a question for uh you derek uh it asked does blaze on use oracle outside in to convert documents uh and then there was a follow-up part of it uh whether it uses leucine indexing uh i'll cover the second part first and then the indexing that you're seeing uh for the text search ability is being performed by our file 360 uh content management system uh i don't know if it actually uses uh leucine uh type indexing i you know again we'll get that information to you offline because we weren't specifically drilling into the functionality of the file 360 document management system but if you could answer the question derek about do we use oracle outside in we certainly can use oracle outside in we have multiple i and i didn't hear the whole question i'm sorry can you you ask the first part of the question again um are we using oracle outside in to convert the input document okay yes we we use multiple uh uh drivers to convert the the input document depends depending on what it is so it all depends on on the content if if it's a pdf or if it's office document um and then it depends on your licensing as well okay and and just to add what you said um if there is an option to use oracle outside in uh another option to use native microsoft office programs and the third option to use open text uh created rendering libraries for office so you do there there are some choices as far as what drivers are used and uh they do affect the licensing cost uh derek looks like another question for you can you input pst files to convert to the msg files to convert a whole pst to pdfs i know we can convert msg files to pdf but i wasn't sure about the whole pst container um that question was actually asked a little while ago in a doc um i would like to take that offline we have an actual matrix that will tell us what can and can't be uh converted using blazon using the jaw processor and in the plays on application um and so that would be best answered uh offline okay and like i said i know we can do the direct conversion of msg files and they can be oh yes i'm just not sure if we can read the pst file so we'll find out and answer that offline uh here's a bro a question for you brian about licensing uh well just a question in general two questions that are related one is uh how's blaze unlicensed and then there's a related question uh is uh do is does license include an unlimited amount of ocr yeah sure thanks dave um yeah as far as licensing goes you have to keep it simple um blazon's license at a server level so things like users or throughput as far as the amount of content running through blazon that's not something to be too concerned with but we work with you on sizing out the specific amount of licensing you need at a server level um and there are a few feature um things that you know you've kind of heard throughout the presentation today that that are included in that but you know at its most basic form it is server-based licensing and we can work with you to determine exactly how that works okay thanks uh looks like a question for you derek uh talking about black and white uh and versus color uh can it create uh kind of create color image and i'm not not sure i totally understand the question but it was talking about creating uh color images uh from black and white i think is the way i'm reading this but i'm not sure that that i think i'm misunderstanding the question because i don't think you can colorize a black and white image but i know you can go the other direction right correct that's how i would have answered that you can go color to black and white because you set the color bit depth on the output or tip output that's that's correct um i it is interesting it's awfully close to a question that i just had the other day where they wanted to know if ocr ocring would work in a if the the text was a different color and or even if the background was a different color and the answer there is yes so just in case that's the side question of the original question yes the ocr does work even in a multi-colored document or a multi-colored image okay and here's another question for you derek uh about ocr is it doing uh icr intelligent half character recognition or omr which is optical mark recognition and i i i think the answer to that is uh it's a semi-intelligent character recognition engine uh where it is adaptable to uh different fonts but i i'm not sure about the omr capability like can we read a bar code for example right that's a great question um and it's something that i would want to confirm the pm's on the quality a lot of our pocs we actually deal with the direct content from the customer because a lot of these questions are all are based on the same same bottom line can it ocr or can it render my contact and brian and us and the team we work real closely with the customer to answer those questions um before we be before we get too deep into the deal okay uh another question for you derek uh can it redact different paper sizes besides eight and a half by 11. yes yeah and kind of do landscape documents yes yes it can okay uh let's see uh if you another question derek on output uh if the input's a cad file and you add stamps to it uh will it shrink the uh stamp to fit the size of the output file i think is the question if you put a stamp on a cad file will it shrink the stamp to fit the output yeah it would it would do it proportionately right um because this this stamp we would have we can follow up yeah yeah we can follow up with the person that posted the question to get some more details on on what the use case might be your requirement right for that scenario uh let's see uh can and question for you derek uh can blazon uh traverse a large uh nested folder structure and output to a mirrored folder structure yes yes they're one of the options when you're setting up a monitored folder is do you want to monitor subfolders and so that's absolutely okay and the second part of that question is can the output go to a mirrored folder structure yes if the content was if you're monitoring a folder abc and there's a subfolder uh def then in the output location i believe it would create a def i would have to to confirm that i don't know if you know the answer to that date i don't know the answer to that either okay uh i'm just there there's a lot more questions that are coming in i'm just gonna try to get through as many as we can because we have about eight minutes left uh say we covered the licensing question uh see uh question for you if uh if a job in a in one of those monitored folder fails how do you how can you detect that or is there a log or notification yes blazon is filled with a bunch of logging tools and features um the jaw processor which is the one that runs does the heavy lifting that can be monitored that could have logs turned on not to mention at each job you could create what we call a heartbeat file for that job to find out what's happening or maybe if something's taking a little bit longer than expected you could see where that the bottleneck is happening so yes there there is quite a bit of logging features that can be turned on and reviewed by a technical team okay uh the question i guess well for you or for brian uh can blazon be integrated with opentext documentum type based or located objects and i i believe the answer to that is it's integrated oh sorry brian i'm not sure if you're able to answer that because i think it's uh i know that there is a blaze on integration into content transformation services for documentum so right i think the short answer is that there is a blaze on integration with opentext documentum sorry dave i was on mute you're correct okay thank you for confirming that okay uh question for uh derek uh are foreign languages supported uh well that's that's the whole question so i'm not sure if that includes fdr on top of that as well i'm guessing yes yes um and we have a document that lists which foreign languages are are supported okay and i believe there is a separate ocr option available for asian character sets is that correct that's correct yes uh the question about the conversion in your example you were showing the resulting conversion was both jpeg images and chip images uh i think that's sort of a question maybe you want to clarify that derek as far as what was the input and what was the actual output file format you were using yes great question uh and part of the the disadvantage of of just going and not not uh knowing if i'm touching on the questions that are coming up as we're looking at these demos um the input sources i was using i was just grabbing uh just a bunch i i had microsoft word i had tiff files which were scanned documents i had non-searchable pdfs and i had jpegs and png the jpegs and pngs were screenshots taken so just to represent maybe a mobile device taking a screenshot those were all the input sources the output source for each one of my my use cases was pdf okay and then i guess it's worth mentioning that one little example where i just kind of showed blazon and the bare minimum i grabbed a dwg file a cad file okay uh question for you brian does uh if someone has a license for uh opentext bravo does that include liaison yeah thanks dave uh bravo and blazon are separate products so you would need to license blazon in addition to bravo okay uh let's see i'm there there's a lot of questions so i'm kind of going through one that i think we can answer pretty quickly uh okay yeah more questions about licensing that i think we answered that it is uh server-based uh another question kind of related to that is uh is blazon for this i think for you brian is blazon an on-prem product or is it cloud-based yeah thanks um primarily it is an on-prem product but if you have a cloud environment that you're working within we'd love to talk to you about that and see how things might fit okay uh let's see a question for you derek can the output be specified to be pdf flash a dash 1b yes there there is a bunch of of pdf options that we didn't have time to cover that we could go into um and and pdf 1a is one of the output sources or output results we could have made okay and another related question kind of back to the psp file but also i think uh just to email msg files in particular is uh can emails be processed that have attachments and how is that done yeah that's a great question actually um that's it's kind of funny this was probably my first demo blazon demo that i did where i didn't use i have an email file that has two attachments in it and so the email itself has a lot of detail and then the two attachments there are a tiff file and a cad file and so i'm able to use blazon to demonstrate how it takes that and it does take those two attachments and create pages that it puts at the end of the email so the answer is yes and it's really a good representation because the cad file will show up as landscape but of course the email and the in the scan shows up as portrait so it even uses intelligence to know how to how to create the pages the individual pages okay uh a question uh for i think when you're using when you're monitoring a folder uh although i think it's about arranging the sequence of the files and the output coming from an input folder is there you have any control over the sequence on the output well the way blazon's set up is it has a q server and it's just is monitoring that folder so as soon as it sees a file put in there it grabs it and and then takes it and does its magic and then it has it does this through multiple processes and threads so then it says oh there's another file let me throw that one out to a jp to get working so you control the order of output by the order of the input for the most part okay thanks derek and i see that we're running out of time we didn't quite get to all of the questions so we will take those uh offline and you'll get copies of all of the questions and we'll provide uh responses back to the questions that were submitted in the chat and i will turn it back over to uh kerry to go ahead and close out our webinar great so thanks again to everyone for joining us today and thanks for our presenters for delivering the presentation have a great day and talk soon

How do you make a document that has an electronic signature?

How do you make this information that was not in a digital format a computer-readable document for the user? " "So the question is not only how can you get to an individual from an individual, but how can you get to an individual with a group of individuals. How do you get from one location and say let's go to this location and say let's go to that location. How do you get from, you know, some of the more traditional forms of information that you are used to seeing in a document or other forms. The ability to do that in a digital medium has been a huge challenge. I think we've done it, but there's some work that we have to do on the security side of that. And of course, there's the question of how do you protect it from being read by people that you're not intending to be able to actually read it? " When asked to describe what he means by a "user-centric" approach to security, Bensley responds that "you're still in a situation where you are still talking about a lot of the security that is done by individuals, but we've done a very good job of making it a user-centric process. You're not going to be able to create a document or something on your own that you can give to an individual. You can't just open and copy over and then give it to somebody else. You still have to do the work of the document being created in the first place and the work of the document being delivered in a secure manner."
