Suitable work is work that is reasonable considering your training, experience, and how long you've been unemployed. You must report your work search action in the week in which the action was completed. This means that you cannot complete 8 work search actions in one week, none for the next week, and report 4 in each of the weeks. To distinguish whether a work search action is reasonable, we consider each work search action to be either valid or invalid. If your work search action is invalid, it will not count toward your four work search actions for the week. Let's look at some examples of valid and invalid work search actions. Submitting a resume or application to an employer that has openings or is taking applications is a valid work search action. It is also the most direct way to obtain work. What would make submitting an application or resume an invalid work search action? If you apply for work you are clearly not qualified for.
