Was Donald Trump, Jr. set up?
I think there are two ways to answer this question — what’s likely, and what’s possible.I think what is likely, is that Don Jr. was not set up for anything except failure — meaning that there was no malicious plan to screw him over, he just did it to himself by lacking competence in what he was trying to do.But that’s not the only possibility. There is an argument that can be made that Jared Kushner set him up. Bear with me for a minute while I present it.It basically goes like this — Jared Kushner and Don Jr. were both present at the meeting with the Russians, thus having first-hand knowledge of its content and participants.[1] They also both knew about the intent of the meeting (collusion with the Russian government to support Trump and undermine Clinton) because it’s explicitly stated in the emails they both received. [2]Kushner failed to disclose that meeting — or literally any other foreign contact — on his SF-86 form (this is the form that federal government employees submit for their security clearances). [3] He later amended his SF-86 form two times to disclose that meeting and over 100 foreign contacts.[4]His explanation for why he initially omitted these meetings — from a document that includes a sworn statement under penalty of felony criminal charges that the information within is complete to the best of your knowledge — is that a member of his staff “prematurely” submitted the form in error. [5] As I can personally verify, having gone through the SF-86 process for my own clearance, that’s not really a possibility unless you accidentally clicked the wrong button 28 times in a row, accidentally e-signed it, and accidentally gave your legal medical release as well. (It’s a VERY long form, with a lot of confirmations).[6] So as anyone whose ever gotten a security clearance can tell you, that explanation is bogus. Now, if you forget to disclose a meeting or two on that form, or you got a date or name wrong — not unusual for very experienced applicants, or people in senior positions in certain fields — you can amend the form to include the names you missed. It’s unusual to do that more than once, or as widely as Kushner did. Now, here’s where it gets really interesting. Look at the timeline —June 9, 2016, is the meeting with the Russians.January 18, 2017: Kushner files his initial SF-86 which fails to disclose the foreign contacts. Kushner allegedly notifies the FBI “the next day” that he would fill in the missing information later. [7]April 6, 2017: New York Times reports that Kushner failed to disclose numerous meetings, including with Russian Amb. Sergei Kisylak. [8]May 11, 2017: Kushner files a first revision to his SF-86, and receives what is believed to be standard questioning from the FBI some time in mid-May.[9]“Third week of June, 2017” (exact date unknown) Marc Kasowitz, Trump’s personal attorney; and Alan Garten, chief legal officer for the Trump Organization, are informed of the existence of the emails, by Kushner’s attorneys (who had “discovered” the emails). [10]June 21, 2017: Kushner files his second revision to the SF-86. This discloses the Russian meeting to the FBI. [11]June 23, 2017: The FBI questions Kushner again over the second revision.[12] This is NOT standard.July 9–11: NY Times breaks the story of the Russian meeting, and the emails. After being contacted by the Times, Don Jr. chooses to release the emails via his twitter, before the Times can publish their story. During this time Don Jr.’s characterization of the meeting is first that it was about adoptions; then that it was about opposition research but they didn’t get any so it ended up being about adoptions; and finally admitting (with the release of the emails) that it was about the damaging information provided from the Russians, as explained clearly in the emails. At least one of these statements was drafted with the consultation of the White House legal team, and was “signed off” on by Trump himself. [13]July 12: Trump says “I only heard of it two or three days ago” (referring to the meeting). [14] In order for that to be true, it would require that two of Trump’s children, his campaign manager, his personal lawyer, the lawyers for his children, and the chief legal officer intentionally kept that information from Trump for at least two to three weeks (or in the case of Kushner/Jr./Manafort, for over a year.)So it begs the question — since Kushner knew of the meetings, had already disclosed them to the FBI (quietly, through the second SF-86 amendment, without trying to draw attention to it), and knew how damaging the information would be to their credibility on the Russia collusion question— why was Don Jr. allowed to make statements that Kushner and others knew weeks in advance were false? The answer is of course up to interpretation, but “what is possible” is that Kushner and Trump, knowing that the contents of the Russian meeting email would be going public sooner rather than later (since the media already had learned of the meeting), are attempting to set up Don Jr. to take the fall. By directing the media’s attention to Jr., who can be laughed off as an incompetent idiot who didn’t know what he was doing, Kushner buys more time for himself, taking some of the heat away from himself and his father-in-law, during the critical days ahead of the Trumpcare healthcare vote. Incidentally, Don Jr. makes for a great fall-guy, because even though he unofficially “advises” his father, he’s technically still an uncleared, private civilian who is subject to far fewer rules on disclosure, transparency, and honesty as Kushner is. And we know that the Trump organization places a high premium on protecting Kushner, who (along with Ivanka) is probably the single most influential person on Trump inside or outside the entire administration. [15]It’s also been speculated that the source of the leaks may not actually be Kushner, but could be Steve Bannon — who dislikes Kushner intensely and has been in a political power struggle with him since the transition.[16] If that’s true, then Jr. isn’t so much being “set up” so much as he’s “collateral damage.”Again, I think the most likely explanation is that Don Jr. is simply an incompetent idiot. But we know Jared Kushner, while he may not be “competent” in the traditional Washington sense, is not an idiot. He’s the one to keep an eye on here, not Don Jr.Footnotes[1] Trump Tower Russia meeting: At least eight people in the room[2] Kushner Omitted Meeting With Russians on Security Clearance Forms[3] Details revealed about Jared Kushner's security clearance forms[4] Details revealed about Jared Kushner's security clearance forms[5] Kushner’s lawyers say he mistakenly left meetings with the Russians off his security forms twice[6] https://nbib.opm.gov/record-prov...[7] People aren't buying Kushner's lawyers' explanation for security clearance form omissions[8] Kushner Omitted Meeting With Russians on Security Clearance Forms[9] Sources: Trump lawyers knew of Russia emails three weeks ago[10] Sources: Trump lawyers knew of Russia emails three weeks ago[11] Sources: Trump lawyers knew of Russia emails three weeks ago[12] Sources: Trump lawyers knew of Russia emails three weeks ago[13] Rancor at White House as Russia Story Refuses to Let the Page Turn[14] Trump says he learned ‘couple of days ago’ of son’s meeting with Russian lawyer[15] Did Jared leak the Donald Trump Jr meeting emails?[16] The Inside Story of the Kushner-Bannon Civil War

What is the procedure for buying shares through a Demat account?
Trading account is the one which is opened with your trading member. It is this account that you use to place your buy and sell orders. A demat account is simply like a savings account in your bank. IT simply holds your stocks and other dematerialized securities. THe demat account is opened with one of the depositories viz. NSDL or CDSL. When you want to buy a share of a company, as a retail investor, you will need to place it through your stock broker. An investor is not allowed to place orders directly with the stock exchanges. The broker then transmits this order to the exchanges, typically on a real time basis. Inside the exchange, the order goes into the trading system. Depending on the order category, the order is sent for execution (market orders) or to the order book (limit order). [There are some more order categories, but I will not go into those details for the sake of simplicity].A market order is executed against the first opposite order that comes along i.e your buy order is executed against the first sell order available. All orders in the order book are prioritised by price-time priority. So a limit order goes and sits in the order book accordingly and will be executed only when the price of your order is signNowed. Till then it remains in the order book as open order. If the trading session ends before your order is executed, your order is automatically cancelled by the exchange. Once an order is executed, the process of clearing and settlement begins. Here the money is taken from the buyer i.e. you and given to the seller of the security. Simultaneously, the share is taken from the demat account of the seller and transferred to the demat account of the buyer. All these processes are done transparently to both the buyer and the seller and are done jointly by the exchanges, the trading members, the clearing members, the custodians and the banks. To get the complete detailed process of clearing and settlement, you can refer to the NSE website here http://www.nseindia.com/products...The broad outline of the clearing and settlement process is as followsStep 1: Trade details from exchange to NSCCL (clearing house of NSE)Step 2: NSCCL notifies the trade details to Clearing members/ CustodiansStep 3: Download of obligation/ pay-in advice of funds/ securitiesStep 4: Instructions to clearing banks to arrange funds by pay-in timeStep 5: Instruction to depositories for sameStep 6: Pay-in of securitiesStep 7: Pay-in of fundsStep 8: Pay-out of securitiesStep 9: Pay-out of fundsStep 10: Depository informs custodians/ Clearing members through DPStep 11: Clearing banks inform custodians/ Clearing members. It is at the end of step 8 that you as a buyer get your stocks in your demat account and at the end of step 9, the seller of that stock gets the money in his linked bank account. Please note that the pay-in of funds/securities in steps 6 and 7 refer to the obligations of the trading members. As a retail investor, you will typically have to transfer the money/securities (to your stock broker) along with the order placement. This is an elementary level-1 risk management process followed by the members to ensure that the investors buying or selling actually have the money to buy or securities to sell.

How does an atheist explain Paul the Apostle's sighting of Christ, his immediate conversion and his records of risen Christ's ey
Paul never made an unambiguous claim to have ever seen a physical, bodily resurrected Jesus, not even in 1 Cor 15.And Acts three times denied that Paul on his way to Damascus ever saw a physical, bodily resurrected Jesus.Nor in 1 Cor 15 did Paul make the claim for Peter or James or the rest of the Apostles. Indeed, Paul equates his own experience—whatever it was—with the experiences of those apostles, and makes no distinction of shape or type or form. And if the “more than 500” in Corinthians is authentic to Paul, he also never made an unambiguous claim that a literally and bodily resurrected Jesus appeared physically to them, either.Furthermore, we don’t have even one, reliable 1st-hand, 1st-person eyewitness report of such an event by any of those supposed 500, nor by an apostle or by any follower of Jesus. The ὤφθη/ōphthē of Paul’s “appeared” (or “was seen”) in 1 Cor 15—for both his own experience and that of the apostles and the 500 — is totally consistent with a spiritual or visionary or revelatory theophany, hallucination, dream or imagination.Paul does not distinguish in any way his own experience—whatever it was—from that of Peter or James, and he nowhere mentions an “empty tomb.”Plus, 1 Cor 15:35–38 is totally consistent with Paul imagining and teaching some sort of spiritual resurrection, not a physical bodily resurrection. Even if Paul was imagining the resurrection to be physical and bodily, he never made an unambiguous claim to have actually seen such a bodily resurrected Jesus. And in 2 Cor 12:2–4 – *if* this represents Paul’s reference to his own conversion experience – it still isn’t a physical, bodily appearance of Jesus. Indeed, it sounds more like, say, an alien abduction. Or a strange little man who was just prone to intense, dream-like, psycho-emotional religious visionary hallucinations.Whatever, specifically, was in Paul’s character or nature that caused him to convert to something he’d previously opposed is lost to history.Perhaps Paul found relief in Jesus more than he ever did from “the Law” from his chronic and recurring sense of wretched carnal sin & guilt. Perhaps Paul was a chronic guilt-ridden masturbator. Or perhaps Paul was a hyper-religious and self-loathing homosexual and just realized in Jesus more relief from the wretched and relapsing religious carnal guilt that plagued him over his warring carnal member. In a sudden flash of insight, while fighting this little heretical Jewish movement, the conflicted, hyper-religious, sin-obsessed Paul somehow imagined a way to rid himself of the religious and sexual guilt that plagued him, and which he could never get rid through “the Law.”Whatever were the reasons, this strange, obnoxious, argumentative, zealous and fanatical, hyper-religious and self-righteous little Jew, obsessed both with being 100% “right” (always!), and obsessed with sin, and with fighting against Jesus Jews — after some overwhelming visionary religious hallucination or feeling — suddenly switched from Torah to Jesus. Bang! …it was done. One can imagine that Paul's strange and strained exegesis came later as an exercise in explanation and self-justification. There’s no reason to doubt that Paul, himself, believed it. But that doesn’t make it gospel.

Salary is 79,000 and No current Loan.Still, I got only 3500rs Limit on the first time. Which I didn’t use because it was a JOKE! I believe that paying a combination of interest, processing fee and all are too much for such a small amount.I was referred by a Friend. That same friend who’s credit score is 714 and 55,000rs Salary got only 2500rs Limit of Loan on the first try!...So basically, you can use them as an INSTANT LOAN option for future urgent need but for that, you will also have to keep using it and HELP THEM. What are some brilliant and hidden meanings found in Kamal Haasan's movie?
Uttama Villain would be a very good example of a movie which does simple things differently. As a longtime fan of movies, especially Tamil movies, i felt i should write about the movie, to let a wider audience understand the actual core of the movie. This piece of writing is a platter of my review of the movie, opinion, a dissection of the movie, the relation between 8th century and the present, and all the brilliant portions i noticed in the movie. I strongly feel, understanding how the 8th century portions span out and how it is related to Manoranjan, is the key thing to understand and enjoy the movie. For certain movies, it just needs to sink in, for you to completely like the movie. Uttama Villain is one such movie. What exactly is Uttama Villain?Story of a current day Superstar with Grey shades. He is at the peak of his career with his recent movie Veera Vilayattu opening to thunderous response. Uttama Villain opens with audience enjoying the movie, and we are into the Single Kisskey song with some more than decent dancing by Kamal Hassan and Pooja. Kamal doesn't look awkward and i felt glad to see Kamal dancing after a long time, after Panchathanthiram to be precise. There are slight signs of aging, but the good news is, some years ago he was looking like early 30-s and now it's like late 30-s. So there is a long way to go to catch up with the actual age.Akilanda Manoranjan, then receives two shocking news that turns his life upside down. Counting his days, he wants to leave behind a legacy as a super star and also as a person. What he does and how he does forms the rest of the story. I don’t want to dwell into the story; you might have already known or seen it in lot of other reviewsAnd now, straight to the point. I’m sure you would have already watched the movie and know the story. There is a common perception about the movie.Everyone liked Manoranjan’s portions and felt 8th century scenes were completely random stuff just to fill in the movie-in-movie portions. Read further if you think soè Recap what Manoranjan sets out to do. He is about to die and goes back to Margadarisi for one last film to complete his legacy. Remember that Manoranjan was desperate and didn’t have any story to convince Margadarisi. He just starts off with a one liner of his own life “என்னமாதிரி திமிறான ஒரு ஆள் Sir”è Then they agree that they will make a comedy movie for the audience to have a good laugh by hiding their personal disaster. So it is clear that Manoranjan doesn’t have a ready-made story to make, but wants to make a movie soon, and that too a comedy movieè Now, here comes the brilliance, like a diamond concealed in a Metal box. You just need to open the metal box to unearth the diamond. We are not shown any scenes where Manoranjan and Margadarisi discuss about what story they want to make, and it unfolds in-front of us in a concealed and subtle mannerè Name of the movie they make is Uttama Villain – An Oxymoron. Manoranjan stitches all the incidents in his real life, in the shortest time possible and comes out with the comedy movie. He portrays the Uttaman and also the Villain in Manoranjan as a movie. Interesting? Read throughManoranjan now has two gigantic tasks in-front of him – to make a movie and also the reveal the Uttaman in him in his personal life. His daughter should accept him as her fatherNow the movie inside the movie, Uttama VillainCharacters in the 8th Century Movie and the Characters in the Real story 8th Century Uttaman, a folklore artist who supposedly escapes death each and every time and has the boon of ImmortalityManoranjan the Uttaman, a talented superstar who tries to leave behind a good legacy and remain immortal as a person and also a star Mutharasan – King facing death very soon. Fond of women. Betrayed Sadhaya Varman to become the king with help of Sudalai MuthuManoranjan the Villain – Superstar facing death very soon. Extra-marital affairs. Ditched Margadarisi after 4 consecutive hits, to become the superstar with help of PC Rao Yamini, the first love of Manoranjan. According to Zakariah’s and Manonmani’s words, a brave lady who took on the adversities of life. Leading a lonely lifeKarpagavalli, the princess. Brave lady (Maveerar Thamizhachi, line in the song). She is brave enough to control a tiger. Leads a lonely life Jacob Zakariah – Married Yamini after Manoranjan supposedly ditched herKaakaapu Sundar – One of the two ministers of Mutharasan who is by the side of Karpagavalli Ottraan – King’s Ottraan. The person who brings news about Karpagavalli to the King and also the news about King to Karpagavalli. Well, I’m sure every one of you knows who the king is. It’s not Mutharasan. The neighboring country’s king Chokku Chettiar – Manoranjan’s manager. He is the person who reveals the letter from Yamini to Manoranjan and Manoranjan to YaminiWell, does it get interesting? Then, read further to relate the 8thcentury movie scenes to Manoranjan’s real life storyNow, we are shown directly that Margadarisi and Manoranjan start off with the 8th century portions with a superb Villupattu.è Look out for the story they are narrating: It seems the story of Lord Arjuna getting the Pasupatha Astra from Lord SivaWith the story they are narrating, and references to “Ulaga Maha Kalaignan”, it’s clear thatManoranjan puts himself in the shoes of Lord Arjuna through Uttaman. Lend your ears to the dialogue “Arjunar Villain, Sivan Villadhi Villain”. It’s clear that he equates the struggle of Manoranjan winning the trust of Manonmani to the struggle of Arjuna getting the Pasupatha Astra from Lord Siva. Manonmani, with the swagger of calling Zakariah as the Hero, and Manoranjan as the Villain,is the Villadhi Villainè Now the story of Mutharasan: It’s crystal clear that Manoranjan scripts Mutharasan based on the Villain inside Manoranjan.Mutharasan is a king who kills Sadhaya Varman with the help of Sudalai Muthu. He is fond of women .He learns that death is imminent for him and seeks immortality. This is exactly the story of Manoranjan. He ditches Margadarisi with the help of PC Rao and becomes a super star. Facing imminent death because of Brain Tumor Type 4. He seeks immortality and wants to do one last movie to remain immortal in the minds of the peopleè Karpagavalli writes a letter to the neighboring country’s king seeking his help to free her from Mutharasan. Letter never signNowes the king. It is through the Ottran and Kaakapu Sundar that the king gets the news and helps her Yamini writes a letter to Manoranjan and the letter never signNowes him. It is through Chokku Chettiar and Jacob Zakariah that Manoranjan gets the news about Yaminiè Initially Uttaman is afraid ofKarpagavalli’s tiger. Only after her words, tiger doesn’t harm Uttaman and he gets to ride on the tiger. It is after this incident that Mutharasan totally agrees Uttaman is Immortal Initially Manonmani (Yamini’s daughter), doesn’t like Manoranjan. It is only after reading the letter and the love between Manoranjan and Yamini, Manonmani completely changes her mind, and accepts Manoranjan. It is only after this, Manoranjan is finally satisfied within himself that he is immortal, and he affords a laugh. Remember he doesn’t even live to see the movie that he made and see the audience claps. His interaction with Manonmani was his final shot at immortality as a person, and he leaves the room with a smile , after Manonmani accepts himSaagavaram song is an excellent song which seems to be the self-conflict that Manoranjan underwentbefore he finally decides he needs to make one final movie to be immortal. It is clear from the scene where Uttaman advises Mutharasan that best way to become immortal is to stage a drama that people will remember. It seems Manoranjan convinced himself that it’s the best way. Remember, he takes this decision, without consulting anyone "விதைத்திடு உன்னை போல் ஒரு உயிரை, உயிர்த்து விளங்கும் என் கவிதை விளங்கும்" Equate this to the emotional conversation between Manoranjan and Manohar. Manohar wants to learn Screenplay, like his father, to show Kodambakkam the genius that his father was Also notice this beautiful scene. Manoranjan , meeting Manonmani the first time, starts off telling she is looking like ......., Manonmani interrupts him saying luckily she doesn't have any resemblance to Manoranjan and she looks like Yamini. But if you had noticed, Manonmani will have the exact mannerisms as Manoranjan. Folded hands, tapping her elbow. Manonmani quickly changes this mannerism after seeing that Manoranjan has noticed it.Manoranjan is convinced now that he has seeded his two children with the same qualities as him and is happy that his name will live on and his children, especially Manohar as a Screenplay writer, will carry on his legacyNow again, a Koothu-inside a movie-inside a movie. Iraniyan Naadagam- The Climax To me, Kamal peaked as a writer here. Now they decide to make a KoothuIf you know mythology, Iraniyan Naadagam is about the conflict between Iraniyan-Prahalad about why Prahalad considers Shri Narayana as his god despite being his son. So this is thereal story of Manoranjan’s conflict with Manonmani as to why she considers Jacob as her Hero, and Manoranjan as the Villainè When Uttaman Suggests that they will stage "Iraniyan Naadagam", Sudalai Muthu tells that it's unheard of. We all know only Prahaladha Charithram. Uttaman replies back saying “இது அவன் அப்பனின்சரித்திரம்”è Excellent use of mythology. Very few mythological stories have been portrayed from the point of view of a villain. Even the Tamil movie that released based on this story was called “Bhakta Prahaladha”. Now looking at the exact happenings of the Naadagam they are trying to stage, you can clearly see that Uttaman wants to kill Mutharasan by using the Poisonous Nails. But Mutharasan, who initially thinks being an Artist is such an easy job, wants the role of Narasimhan which has no dialogues. Subtle expose that being an artist is not an easy job after allè This comes at the last part of the movie just after Manonmani reads Manoranjan’s letter to Yamini. Manohar asks if Jacob is her dad, she replies noIntelligently, the Iraniyan Naadagam will finish with Narasimhan dying. Is that Narasimhan? No. It is the end of Mutharasan, the Villain within Manoranjan. So Prahalad accepted Iraniyan the villain implying Manonmani accepted Manoranjan as her father whom she considered as Villain.è Interestingly not only Iraniyan’s conflict with Prahalad resembles Manoranjan-Manonmani, but Iraniyan’s character is similar to that of Manoranjan’s Villain inside him. And what’s the final twist? Uttaman is not a folklore artist. He is the king for whom Karpagavalli wrote the letter seeking help. He reconciles with Karpagavalli dressed up as a small child (Prahalad), portraying the re-conciliation of Manoranjan and Manonmani. This is revealed through the Ottraan, who is Chokku Chettiar in the 21stcentury storyè Now looking closely at the end of the drama, Mutharasan and Sudalai Muthu die (all bad things came to an end), and Uttaman as the king, appears from the Pillar that was meant for Mutharasan. So, the religious and mythological angle of good triumphing over evil is still retained, and also establishing the end of villain in Manoranjan. I cannot think of any such Mythological references to convey a real story with a beautiful ending. So, does that sound cool? Are you still of the opinion that 8th century scenes did not mean anything?è The movie ends on a sad note, with Manoranjan dying, but he achieved immortal status by doing a comedy movie which audience enjoyed thoroughly. His children loved him, his wife, his driver, his father in law, his guru, everyone loved him, and the movie ends with Arpana revealing the news of death to his children, while others are having a hearty laugh watching climax of Uttama Villain. Ends without a fuss of everyone crying for himè So what you think Uttama Villain means? Uttaman who is a Villupattu artist, Hence Uttama Villain. Tax purpose alright. The actual meaning is Manoranjan’s confrontation with the Uttaman and also the Villain inside him.

What are some instances of possible foreshadowing in the Dunk and Egg novellas?
Season ChangeIn terms of timing, there are nice little details that may provide clues about the season change in Westeros. We can compare the night sky as seen by Dunk in Standfast with that seen by Jon and Ygritte as they prepare to climb the Wall. The Tourney at Ashford takes place in 209 AC, then Dunk and Egg leave for Dorne, therefore avoiding the Spring Sickness in king’s Landing, that takes the lives of a number of the royal family.Summer lasts two years from 210 AC to 211 AC, and we can date the Whitewalls Tourney to 211 AC. There is a prolonged drought. By the time Dunk and Aegon signNow Standfast, the impact of the drought is clear, but the season doesn’t shift from summer to autumn whilst they are in Dorne. The evening before they arrive at Standfast, Dunk notices the Moonmaid in the evening sky. Jon describes having learnt the twelve houses and their rulers from Maester Luwin, and the Moonmaid seems equivalent to Virgo. Why Moonmaid? The constellation of Virgo contains the point of the Autumn Equinox. Here is the shift from summer to autumn: the Moon in Virgo means an alignment of the Sun, the Earth and the Moon, that produces lunar eclipses. Jon sees the Moonmaid around a time where the seasons change. Dunk sees it at a time where we know that they will not. It’s a nice bit of further evidence that the season change is definitely magical, not astronomical. That the commoners believe in the False Spring, but the Maesters do not, suggests that the commoners are seeing the changes in the night sky that they would expect over a year, or twelve turns of the Moon.I happen to think that the regular four season year is the usual, but that the handful of extended seasons change at the same point in the yearly cycle, as the regular season change would. Given that the summer after Robert’s Rebellion has lasted 10 years, two turns and something days, that looks to me like one regular quarter year summer plus ten years. The False Spring would be a freak blip within a year plus winter at the time of year that Spring would be expected - the stars in their rightful places, the correct number of moon turns - but with giveaway to the Maesters, my guess would be in the measurement of shadows/inequality of length of night and day at the expected equinox.Dunk’s DreamsDunk’s dream on the roof, under the stars, at Standfast finds him digging in White sand with Red mountains in the distance. He sees Aegon being washed over by the sands, being pulled down into his grave, and Dunk cannot save him …Aegon will die in the Tragedy at Summerhall in Dorne, in the residence built by his Grandfather to celebrate the alliance with the Martells. Dunk will also die there as the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, whilst performing some feat of valour. There is a red and white theme, which may be relevant to the mystery. Bloodraven features heavily in the Dunk and Egg story arcs.Daeron and Daemon Blackfyre II have prophetic dreams referred to in the Dunk and Egg books and it seems like Dunk has them too. They are dragon dreams or weirwood dreams - like Jaime’s - and I tend towards them being the same phenomenon.Dunk and EggThe most similar journey is that of fakeAegon with Jon Connington.Dunk takes Egg as his squire so that he can learn about the ordinary people of his realm. Varys tells Kevan Lannister that the same reasoning applies to their raising of fakeAegon. There are parallels between the two situations.Ser Rolly Duckfield may not be a proper Ser, as with Dunk. The only duck pond mentioned in Westeros is the one at Pennytree, the home of Ser Arlan, the hedge knight Dunk squired for. Brienne is currently in the vicinity of Pennytree.Aegon and Dunk relate to hedge knights, whilst fakeAegon is allied with sellswords. fakeAegon travels with a half-a-maester, Haldon, whilst Qyburn has had his chain taken away by the Citadel and was travelling with sellswords - the Bloody Mummers - this lights the fuse for a chain of events where he meets Jaime ( - probably saving his life after the loss of his hand)He is appointed to the Small Council by Cersei where he creates Ser Robert Strong out of ‘exhausted’ puppeteers. This affects the plotline going forward as Bran’s vision of the Hound and Jaime requires Ser Robert Strong, rather than Gregor Clegane. Ser Robert Strong is the product of a chainless maester, meaning that Qyburn had to be present at the deathbed of Gregor, after the showdown with Oberyn Martell. Who knows what Haldon-the-half Maester is capable of, but Qyburn seems all kinds of handy.Dunk’s companionsThe Trial of Seven sees Baelor Breakspear unexpectedly joining Dunk against his royal brothers. The death of Baelor - at Maekar’s hand - is the most signNow shift in the line of Targaryen ascent to the throne, which will result in Egg - Aegon the Unlikely - as Aegon V, setting up the route to the PTWP prophecy.Bran has a vision of the Hound and Jaime Lannister with, most probably, Ser Robert Strong, looming over them with his helmet of black blood. There’s a good chance we will have another Trial of the Seven, and there’s a plausible route to it. Either through Cersei, most likely, or Margaery Tyrell. The Hound is easily explained: he’s with the Elder Brother on the Quiet Isle and the Faith is in the ascendant in King’s Landing. He would plausibly fight for the faith. The Hound is not a proper Ser and neither is Dunk. Brienne arguably falls into that category too.Jaime, though. Ser Robert Strong is Cersei’s creature, so why might Jaime be on the other side to his sister, especially if it means her death? The answer there is Tommen. Would Jaime save Tommen from his sister? Would he save Margaery because it is right, and for Tommen’s sake? I think he would, and if that were to happen, we might see Brienne there too. There are a number of distinct groups of men associated with Dunk: the six men who fought with him in his trial, his companions at Whitewalls. There may be equivalent groups in the current books, like the three men with Brienne at Maidenpool.Winterfell ObsessionRohanne Webber goes AWOL from Casterly Rock in 230 AC, and Dunk escorts Maester Aemon to Eastwatch-by-the-Sea in 233 AC, at Aegon V’s insistence. They had visited Winterfell together after the Tourney at Whitewalls.Dunk seems to go with the flow as a hedge knight, not particularly fixed upon any destination. He frequently expresses a desire to visit the Wall and Winterfell - despite no obvious connection - and does. It feels like it is not an optional excursion for him.Bran’s vision shows someone like Dunk kissing someone like a young Old Nan. Dunk thinks an awful lot about girls and kissing, and we know he has a descendant. My guess would be that his child was in the North and that Aegon V sent him with Maester Aemon so that he could see him, or her.‘Asked if he'll ever tell which character is Dunk's descendent. Got a rather acerbic, "I gave a pretty strong hint in the new book," to which I sheepishly replied "Yea, but I read it real fast, in three days."" I told him I suspected Brienne but thought that she was too obvious and that he'd be more subtle than that and he said, "You think?" Coy bastard’ - The Citadel: So Spake Martin - US Signing Tour (Dayton, OH)‘But I did get up the courage to blurt out one small SoIaF query, which was if we've met a descendent of Dunk's in the SoIaF. He said yes’ - The Citadel: So Spake Martin - Mysterious Galaxy Signing (San Diego, CA)I cannot see any definite conformation that Brienne is Dunk’s mystery descendant. Personally I think that they share a common ancestor instead.I like the idea that it is actually Hodor. ‘Hold the Door’ seems like something Ser Dunk might have said to himself during the Tragedy at Summerhall, where he saved the lives of Rhaella and Rhegar.Dunk has an extremely repetitive internal monologue and ‘no-one can doubt that Hodor knows his name’.Dunk and BrienneThe green shooting star in his shield in the real world would equate to the Perseid Meteor showers in August. The symbolism of the elm tree is not particularly ‘lucky’ - and ‘sunset’ is another connection between Dunk and Brienne, daughter of the Evenstar.‘In Greek mythology, the hero Orpheus, having rescued his beloved wife Eurydice from the Underworld by enchanting everyone there with his harp music, paused to play her a love song, at which spot the first elm grove was said to have sprung up. In Celtic mythology, too, elm trees were associated with the Underworld. They had a special affinity with elves who were said to guard the burial mounds, their dead and the associated passage into the Underworld. As well as their widespread use in hedges, their stature made them imposing landmarks and boundary markers, and travelling psignNowers and judges would often pronounce from beneath them. The elm's wood bends well, or distorts easily, depending on which way you look at the situation, and indeed the 'wych' in wych elm refers to its wood being pliant, and not to witches, who were said to shun elm trees’ - Mythology and Folklore of ElmDuncan chooses the sunset and the shooting star (but not its colour). Aegon suggests a tree, and then specifies the elm. There are two separate, independent choices involved in the specification, and a third during the painting process. The colour brown is another feature: there is Bennis of the Brown Shield, and the bowls of brown in his childhood. His horse is Chestnut.Brienne has her shield repainted to Dunk’s arms at the Dun Fort - brown - in Duskendale - dusk, sunset, evening. This is the seat of the extinct Darklyns - a ‘darkling sky’ is the sky at dusk, sunset, evening - whose House has provided seven members of the Kingsguard.‘ Brienne searches for Sansa along the Rosby road in the crownlands, meeting Illifer, Creighton Longbough, and Shadrich. She visits the Dun Fort in Duskendale and has her shield repainted to the arms of Ser Duncan the Tall’ - Brienne TarthThis suggests that Brienne and Dunk share a common ancestor. Possibly Brienne is the heir of House Darklyn, following Ser Dontos’ death. The Darklyns were petty Kings back in the day.Likewise Dunk acquires three companions Ser Kyle the Cat, Ser Maynard Plumm and Ser Glendon Ballon his way to Whitewalls. Brienne’s three and Dunk’s three might be connected ( - a cat and a mouse is quite a pretty juxtaposition). The name ‘Fireball’ is another name for a meteorite.RandomDunk likes red haired girls. He meets them at signNow turning points. as Jon does with Ygritte, who is also kissed by fire. Both Ygritte abd Rohanne Webber are pretty good with a bow and arrows. Mythologically, the nearest parallel are the hunters of Artemis ( - maid doesn’t necessarily mean ‘virgin’, it can simply mean ‘currently unwed’).He dreams of Rohanne whilst sleeping in the cellar: she is shooting arrows at him. Rohanne has grey-green eyes, as does Petyr Baelish: it’s the background colour of the House Baelish sigil, but also that of the House Reed’s.Ser Bennis is an inveterate sour-leaf chewer which gives him a weirwood tree type mouth, or perhaps one like Patchface’s in Melisandre’s visions.Wells, dry or otherwise, feature heavily in Dunk’s life.He is referred to as an aurochs, as is Grenn.Dunk isn’t necessarily short for Duncan: the only name he knows is Dunk.We learn that the Citadel contains someone executed for treason and Maesters dabbling in sorcery. Sam is currently at the Citadel, Marwyn is making his way to Dany, Pycelle was a known poisoner - getting the KL job at the end of Aegon V’s reign after a quick succession of deaths amongst his three short-lived predecessors - and Oberyn Martell forged a handful of links on his chain. The most signNow aspect though is that Dunk and Egg are still alive at the end of the books when, frankly, they shouldn’t be. They narrowly escape death numerous times, usually due to a major intervention. It is necessary that they make it to Summerhall for the line of Aerys and Rhaella to be possible. Not only are there interventions that save them, but there are also interventions that are intended to kill them, perhaps to forestall a PTWP/AA - type prophecy. It also seems necessary that they both die at Summerhall, and the manner of their deaths is key to understanding plotlines within the books. Which makes any life-saving intervention potentially suspect, like when Snape accuses Dumbledore of raising Harry like a lamb to the slaughter. We may, in retrospect, see this play out again, as a number of characters should have died, but didn’t. They may have an appointment to die waiting for them in the last two books. As Ned did when he survived the Tower of Joy only to be beheaded upon the steps of the Great Sept of Baelor.
