What is the worst advice people still give?
As a contrarian who went from babysitter’s daughter to millionaire by 30, I achieved it by avoiding as MUCH conventional advice as I could in each circumstance.Of course, I couldn’t dodge every bullet, so here are the best worst advice that people commonly give:#1. Pursue a stable job.Assuming you grew up in a stable home with career-oriented or somewhat decently successful parents, for those of us in the middle class and above, your parents are likely to make life all about finding this mystery stable job. As to if stability is even guaranteed in our rapidly changing world is even possible or not, they pay no mind. Society wants you to strive for safety.Instead of encouraging children to leverage their natural strengths and inclinations, the process of brainwashing people to abide by strictly dictated behaviors for “guaranteed” success and stability is foisted upon every generation.#2. In order to obtain said stable job, you must attend college, most likely pursuing a “worthwhile” degree which largely is related to a technical field. The moment I was born, my family pegged me for Harvard. We moved countries, cities, and states to get closer to Harvard. Like many other immigrants, my parents’ biggest dream was for me to become a lawyer or doctor so that my life will finally be “set for life”.Through pain, suffering, and a terrible relationship with my family throughout my childhood and adolescence, I emerged scarred, miserable, and totally unhappy with my life because my parents’ overly aggressive obsession with academic success and overbearing treatment suffocated me.Due to my parents and society breeding the fear of failure into me, I didn’t have the courage to do what I really wanted to do (music school and sing). I take full responsibility for my lack of courage in my adolescence. Instead, I decided to take the safe route of business school. I chose Finance as my major, a subject I had no interest in beyond the fact that it “pays well”.#3. Not only do most people commit to exorbitant undergrad college debt, many people double and triple down to continue accumulating degrees*.*Unless you’re 100% committed to a career that mandates through the authorities and government that you NEED the degree to work in that industry (i.e. MD, JD, RN), you should really think twice about delaying your entry into the workforce.I was lucky my parents had the wherewithal to help pay for college, which thankfully wasn’t much due to the signNow amount of grants and scholarships I had. Before I could even take a breath after graduation, my mom was right on that horse again, pressuring me to attend law school.I flatly refused. I spent my entire college education experimenting with entrepreneurial ventures with little care or interest for academia. Despite how little I studied, I did relatively well, which only proved to me the lack of value college systems provide, especially for people like myself who know how to generate revenue without needing a 9–5.The only things I enjoyed about college was the freedom away from my family and more importantly, the exposure to meeting rich peoples’ children. Since I was at a private business school, I met international rich kids who drove fancy cars and had nice things. I didn’t want to wait, I wanted those riches for myself. In college, I was a budding entrepreneur already. Being surrounded by riches made me hungry for money. I worked hard at my internships, hospitality jobs and straight hustling, becoming a powerseller on eBay, trading stocks, learning all types of sales jobs. I knew that I no longer needed any more school. I was ready for the real world.#4. Upon graduating, you’ll be encouraged by your school, family, and society to work (and stay) in a specific field with no change in plan.I hated my corporate internships! I couldn’t imagine committing to the future my internships showed was possible in boring 9–5 environments on a fixed salary I considered too low. Unlike the realities of many of my working-class classmates, I was lucky that I had 1 year after school to figure out what I wanted to do.My family abandoned our family business (Chinese restaurant) due to poor planning and decision-making. I was stuck with the responsibility to keep our entire business and home afloat. During this year of free labor in a show of filial piety, I read a lot of books trying to find my path in life. The answer came to me: enter a job/career that would allow young people to make money in order to escape the dreaded future of decades of slaving away for “the man” or forever having to please my parents.Against my parents’ wishes, I entered the career of headhunting and agency recruitment which is a sales job. At 23, I moved to NYC on a base salary of $35k in 2011 to start my new life in a shared apartment with random strangers I braved a winter storm to secure. From here on out, I will be the master of my own destiny.#5. As many people enter the workforce, their priority is to strive for work-life balance and are terrified of burning out.Of course working very hard at a job you hate will very quickly lead to burnout, however I LOVED (still love) recruiting. Immediately, I worked my butt off and was recognized, becoming top biller my entire career and obtaining many career opportunities for advancement.Instead of prioritizing dating, socializing, or the -life half of the “work-life balance” myth, I focused my life around my work. I overweighted on the work half instead and it paid off handsomely. In the process, I became a widely recognized leader and expert in my career of headhunting on a global and national level, earning over $215k by the time I was 25. This eventually allowed me to open my own recruiting firm, DG Recruit, in 2018.When you prioritize work and career success as your “one” thing, you actually experience higher long-term happiness rather than short-term instant gratification.#6. At a certain age, you must settle down*.*This especially penalizes women. As a financially and professionally successful woman, I don’t actually need a man. However, due to heavy parental and societal pressure as evidenced by social media, I felt like I wasn’t living up to my full potential by being single. I lived my whole life living off of the assumption that I would magically end up happily married with kids by 30, as that’s when your biological clock starts malfunctioning (more on this later). As I got older, I kept trying to “beat the buzzer” by dating, often settling with people just for the sake of moving the needle closer to marriage. With whom or for what purpose was not the point; I just wanted to win.I wanted to prove to others that I was wanted and I was valuable. Wouldn’t I need a man to evidence that? Thankfully, due to my financial independence and A-type personality, I just really couldn’t tolerate people unfit for my needs past a certain time frame. Even now, I’m still single at 30, proving to myself that my childhood assumptions need to be questioned and perhaps guided me wrong.Don’t feel like you HAVE to find someone or that you’re undesirable if you don’t have someone willing to live in your home of the opposite sex. I’ve seen my parents have a horrific marriage through my entire life, thus I know the fundamental truth that it’s actually better being single than with someone unfit. This further means, if you’re LGBTQ, don’t suppress it - have the courage to live your life.#7. Get a primary residence; stop wasting money on rent and buy*.*This especially penalizes those who live in high-cost real estate markets where the rental value of a home is much lower than the monthly all-in costs to buy the same property, a phenomenon especially troublesome in A-tier cities and rapidly-scaling B-tier cities.Wow. There is no financial/investing advice as horrible and uneducated as this! For those who by default take their salaries, go to a bank, get approved for a loan and pick the first house close enough to work within their pre-approved amount, they’re committing blindly to a financial investment that could potentially lead to a lot of long-term misery.I could write a book about all the emotional, financial, and career-wise issues primary housing presents (i.e. you can’t relocate for better opportunities and you’re stuck or worse yet you lose your job and you foreclose). As a headhunter, I see how housing constrains career and financial development. People win the battle but lose the war.Long story short, most people treat real estate like the same issue with college: they don’t think, they just go for it. What ends up happening is the inevitable boom and bust that benefits investors like myself who actually know what we’re doing and understand real estate valuation. In certain countries like China for instance, children expect their parents to buy them primary residences or it’s hard for them to find spouses. They’re living mainstream upon mainstream, just following others’ example with no rhyme or real reason, to everyone’s combined misery.#8. Save and you’ll be rich.I became a millionaire by 30, largely through investing and earning - NOT saving. I only save enough so that I can invest the majority of my cash into REAL assets that are inflation-protected like residential real estate (my main poison), stocks, crypto, etc. To save, people write books, do shady things, and think along the lines of someone who will perpetually be actually poor.Investing is the real activity that will take you out of the middle-class. You’ll never get there if you hoard cash under your mattress or in your bank account (same thing). If you rely on your 401k, then you’ll be relying on those systems and the “value of compound interest” when the stock market has been anything but guaranteed to be steady.Yes it does go up over time, but how many 90 year olds do you know who are rich off of 401ks? Pensions are irrelevant for those of us not related to governments or traditional blue-chip companies, thus what do we have left? Using investments to carry us through of course! This is where you have to pick your own poison. I realized early in the game when I started trading stocks at age 19 that I was NOT good at it and I HATED the daily fluctuations. Since my mom made some good money investing in real estate abroad and in the US, I studied real estate valuation on the weekends and bought my own properties since I was 25 up and down the US east coast.#9. Have your own children because (1) it’s your duty to your parents (2) you “should” (3) everyone else is doing it (4) what else is there to do after marriage? (5) abortion is bad for religious reasons (6) you’re not a true man/woman/adult until you have your own biological progeny. This is arrogant in thinking that (1) everyone is physically capable of reproducing (2) those who can’t are somehow less valuable members of society and/or (3) those who can’t or don’t want to aren’t ever going to be fulfilled - they’re forever destined to be never “really experiencing life”.In reality, pregnancy oftentimes is the ultimate jail sentence for many women (and men), especially those who accidentally conceived, were raped, were taken advantage of, or have aspirations to be more than just parents. Then society guilt-trips you or legally forces you to have a child you weren’t ready for mentally, physically, professionally, and financially. Ultimately, you’re robbed of the future you actually wanted for yourself, which may make you resent your life, society, and your family. While I’m certainly not advocating for everyone to reject mother/fatherhood, I’m simply posing a simple question: do you truly want a child or are you doing it for reasons outside of your will or serious consideration? The process of insemination takes sometimes 1 minute, but the after-effects of such a big decision lasts literally entire lifetimes, those of you, your spouse if you have one, your extended family, and your child(ren). Have you seriously given it the thought you need to to be a responsible and effective parent despite the astronomical increase in costs of maintaining a family’s wellbeing?Especially in the US where the current administration is against female reproductive rights, women are pressured to keep their baby instead of abortion. Yet, time and time again, those same people bemoan the single-moms and the “breakdown” of the family unit. The sadder thing is that, instead of adopting children locally and around the world who are abused, neglected, and desperate for love, people pay tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars for surrogates, in-vitro whichamacallit and fertility treatments just for the sake of nothing else other their genetic ego.Not to mention, there are countless women and children who suffer domestic violence and a lifelong of misery due to unhealthy home environments; they are shackled by their reality of deciding to create a 18-year-long tether to an undesirable situation/spouse.I am still daily pressured by strangers, family, and friends to make sure I keep my mind open about having biological progeny when nothing about the pregnancy process makes me excited. As a businesswoman, I’m focusing my “maternal” instincts on growing my business as my priority right now. Never say never, but I won’t bust out a baby to beat the clock or to force it. I can always always adopt. In ConclusionIf you’re still reading, I’m grateful that you gave my thoughts some thought. I suffered immensely and still suffer daily with these subject matters because most people think very differently than me and constantly want to subjugate me to their will (ahem, mom and dad, I love you).No matter how old we are, whether we’re 15 or 55, we need to constantly question why things are they way they are:Why do governments want civilians to reproduce more? Is it moral or is it because they want to earn votes and reap taxes off of our income and prop up the future need for housing? Also get access to labor forces that increase GDP and can fight wars for them? Why do companies want people to reproduce (consumerism and real estate industries) and fall in love (holidays, movies, retail/fashion, dating, plastic surgery, luxury goods, gym services, and makeup products)? Why do your parents want you to go to college? Because they too are blinded by generations of indoctrination by companies (yay, free educated employees and exclusion of those born to non-college households) and schools who profit off of education. If you can see the hidden objectives behind every traditional piece of advice, then perhaps, you can create a life of your own that makes you intrinsically and organically happier than what could have been.

What are the best electronic signature (e-signature) services?
Sometimes we really don’t understand what we mean under “best”, even this question doesn’t elaborate what the best service means? Which criteria the author believes the service fits the best? price?best design? Reliability?Let’s better talk about “suitable” for this moment and current needs. As the previous answers mentioned, do you need the service to be available on all major platforms or a signature that will stand up in court?Do you need a free simple solution, a feature-rich service that charges on the amount of signatures/documents signed or on monthly basis?Do you need to work with your documents on the go with low or no internet connection (while travelling, in the airport or plane)? And you can ask yourself with tons of such questions to create a matrix of features-service to choose the one you need. Or you can use 3rd party platforms like Alternativeto to initially select the provider you are interested in.When we conducted a closed beta testing for signNow recently, one of the goals was to understand the main criterias SMB owners from US use to choose a solution or switch to another one.We interviewed more than 230 businesses and what’s interesting, while the top factor goes to Security&data privacy, price or for example, digital signature availability is not in Top-3 of choices. Speed of an app/solution and multiplatform availability (works in web browser as well as on Mac, iPhone/iPad, Android and Windows devices) are what values higher. So, if there is a need to sign/send documents on Mac, iphone/ipad, android, windows and web browser and to work with documents offline, signNow is alternative to go with. We are still in beta, implementing some major requests from our beta users, but will be launching this September. And, signNow is free while in beta.

What kind of paperwork do airline pilots need to complete during their flight?
There’s quite a bit of paperwork involved in the airline business. You ask “during the flight” but I’ll expand a bit, going through a typical flight from signing on to signing off. Come along. We show up at dispatch where a flight plan package is normally waiting for us. Sign a form that confirms you’re current and have the correct licenses (specific to our Civil Aviation Administration I think, since I don't have to sign it in other places), then after having gone through the flight plan package sign for acceptance of dispatch with that load (legal requirements but in other airlines we had to sign the flight plan itself so the method is company specific). Sign next to your name on a copy of the General Declaration, an official form that lists the crew of a flight (Company specific). For flights to China we have to also sign a form that has our passport numbers on it, to be handed over to staff on arrival there (China flights specific). The flight plan package is the reason pilots show up early for a flight as it can be a lengthy matter in itself, especially for long flights; it contains:The to be signed dispatch release form (Company requirement). The weather briefing of at the very least the departure, arrival and destination alternate airport and enroute alternates if required to support the operation. A lot more relevant enroute alternates are included but not strictly necessary. (legal requirement)The NOTAMS of all relevant airports [NOTAM - Wikipedia, NOTAMS are NOtices To AirMen that list unserviceable equipment, airport works, adjusted procedures, etc…] (legal requirement).Weather charts of enroute weather, with the position of jetstreams, the predicted areas of icing and turbulence if signNow, charts with winds enroute (legal requirements).A chart with the route plotted out for EDTO flights or long flights [EDTO or ETOPS operations need enroute airports to support flying further than an hour away from a diversion option] (legal requirement).A form that lists the MEL items if the plane has them; not strictly necessary but nice of the airline to inform us before going on board so we can plan more efficiently (company specific). [MEL or Minimum Equipment List items are items that are inoperative or considered inoperative on the airplane but don't prevent the airplane from being airworthy. Depending on the item there may be specific procedures to take into account.]The actual flight plan which has on it: the load, the fuel planning details, the filed flight plan with Air Traffic Control or ATC, the flight log details at every waypoint enroute, the winds at every waypoint at different levels, and the fuel log. It is especially the flight log and fuel log here that have to continuously be updated and followed during the flight later on. (Legal requirements). If PNRs (points of no return), fuel critical points or EDTO/ETOPS airports and equitime points are used, those are listed as well.A form that specifies that GPS signals will be available around the time of arrival at the destination, relevant for navigation based on GPS. (Legal requirement unless on board equipment can predict it).A fuel prediction form with graphs and numbers that give us a statistical idea about how much fuel the flight uses, to assist with efficient fuel planning (company specific).Any other relevant information for the flight, for example about delays in China or other flights that use the same route at busy periods… (company specific)Once that’s reviewed, done and signed we go to the airplane. Depending on where we are we may have to sign or fill out immigration forms to go airside. When we get on the plane there will be several people waiting for us: engineers/mechanics that take care of the technical stuff on the airplane, a load controller who oversees the loading and boarding of the plane, and a refueler who wants to know how much Jet A1 kerosine he can sell us today. Give that man a filled out form - not yet signed - with a standby fuel figure; we will finalize the last three to five tons of fuel at the end but he needs to start now to get it all on on time. Then have a look in the technical log or maintenance log that the engineer/mechanic gives you: is the airplane released for flight yet? If not: what are they still working on? Go through that log and note all the specifical technical issues of the airplane. If there are any MEL items then go through that book now. Everything ok? Sign the technical log which states that you accept it for flight (legal document). Then tell the load controller he can start boarding when the cabin is ready. Catering and cleaning is not our concern; the cabin crew sign for that. While we set up the cockpit and program the flight, some people will interrupt us. Betty the flight attendant brings us coffee so she’s never disliked, but load controllers can bare bad news about delays. Ground staff may bring us a NOTOC [NOtification TO Captain, a form that lists dangerous goods or special cargo, its associated procedures and where exactly it's loaded]. Sign that NOTOC and leave a copy (legal requirement). At some point load control tells us the final weight and passenger number; that’s when we calculate how much fuel more or how much less than foreseen we can take. Let the fueler know so he can go home. Before he does that though, he brings the fuel receipt which the number crunchers of the airline need to keep their computers busy. Now sign all those fuel receipts and forms (company requirements). When the loading is complete and the passengers are on board, the load controller tells us that good news and confirms with us that we have the correct loadsheet, which details all things related to weight and balance. Do I need to say it? Sign the final version of that loadsheet.Doors can be closed now that we have signed so many forms that any lawyer will have a field day with us if something goes wrong. Now we’ll put our special pen away and concentrate on flying for awhile. As a general rule there will be no paperwork until we signNow the cruise level.Once in cruise the pilot in us has to make way for the bureaucrat in us again. If you chose to be the pilot flying the sector, you’re in luck as it's normally the other pilot who will playing your secretary then. Normally we switch roles on the return sector so there’s no escape. The time to do the flight plan/fuel log has dawned upon us. Add all the times so you'll know when exactly - to the minute - we’ll be overflying all the waypoints along our route and then write every half hour (Airbus procedure) or every hour (legal procedure) how much you're up or down on fuel burn. In other airlines I worked we could just snapshot time updates overhead points along the route but here our Civil Aviation Department is stricter and requires it to be done over every single point. So go ahead and make up some that you missed already: fill out the exact time overhead every waypoint we pass. (All legal requirements.). Time updates allow us to analyse if we're making up delays or if we can have a few extra minutes in the bar on arrival. Fuel updates are a way to detect leaks and plan for arrival contingencies. If we're flying to India then somewhere along the route the purser will come in with a little book of questions for us. Time to accept that you are going to the most bureaucratic place on the third rock from the sun. Indian customs will want to know on arrival what electronic devices you have with you, phones, laptops, cameras, tablets, vibrators, what jewels, their brand and value… and the one that always gets me to count: how much money you have on you. Don't mention that you have leftover rupees from last time you were here since it's illegal to import/export the currency. Now be careful! Don't sign yet! It’s of the utmost importance to confirm whether you will have to sign beforehand and get the angry “Why haven't you signed here”-look from customs or whether you get the “How do I know you are really you unless you sign while I see you do it”-look from other customs officers. If you don't want to spend another hour in the airport after arrival because an officer has to call his manager who has to call his manager in return, who has to probably go up the chain all the way to the Prime Minister, then please make sure you’ve got this right. Obviously there have to be something like 3 or 4 signatures of yours in various places for Indian customs at some point. If nothing interesting happened during the flight, then all paperwork that remains to be completed on arrival are the technical log of the airplane and an administrative report to the airline. The administrative report determines how much we get paid at the end of the month because apart from things like who did the landing or whether an autoland was satisfactory, and apart from the reason we made up for the delay - usually if vague we blame ATC, that should be obvious by now -, it contains our duty times. Sign the administrative report of the flight (company specific). Finally write what's wrong with the airplane in the technical log. Note the arrival fuel in there as well, especially if you fly to seedy places in Africa where overnight they may defuel you, only to sell you back your own fuel the next day. Then… yeah you’ve got it by now… sign the tech log. (Legal requirement)But… if something happened during the flight we’ll be spending some more time behind the pen. ASRs or Air Safety Reports are written - and of course signed - if there was any safety related incident or if we deem that others should be alarmed about something. There are a number of other forms for various other things that could have happened, like Engine Vibration Reports, Airframe Vibration Reports, Severe Reset Reports, Commander’s Discretion Reports, ASR-Fatigue reports, yada yada yada… but I won't expand on these here anymore. Some of these reports are electronic, especially on the newer A350 airplanes, and require an electronic signature.

Has anybody applied for learning or driving license online, how is the process for the same?
Based on my own experience of getting the Driving license for Geared two wheeler on myself with no bribe/brokers, I can say the process of getting driving license in Bangalore, Karnataka can be divided into two stages.Stage 1 : Apply for Learner’s License (LLR)Visit the Sarathi website and select the New Learners license under Apply online drop down menu. Fill in all the required details, upload signature and photograph, upload required proofs, book slot, make payment (FYI the payment can also be done at the respective RTO) and visit the applied RTO on the slot date with the printed application form, xerox copies of the proofs(FYI I have submitted my rental agreement + Electricity bill for residence proof, Aadhaar card for Id proof, Birth Certificate for DOB proof) along with the originals for verification. The computer operator will verify the documents and start your test. The test contains the questions on basic traffic signs. Once passed, After 3 days, the RTO authorities would upload the Learner’s license to the sarathi website for you application number. You may take the print out of you Learner’s License. The approximate cost would be around 250 INR.Stage 2: Apply for Driving License (DL)Step 1:Once you complete 30 days after Learner license approval, you can again visit the Sarathi website and select the New Driving license under Apply online drop down menu. Fill in all the required details, book slot, make payment (FYI the payment can also be done at the respective RTO).Step 2:Visit the applied RTO on the slot date with the application print outs along with the documents of the vehicle you take for the driving test. You need to staple the Chalaan payment bill with Application form, Learner’s license printout, Slot booking appointment printout, vehicle documents, Stamped Postal cover with the delivery address written on it (This is used to send your DL through post. Usually you can get it in the shops near RTO offices). Once verified you will be directed to take the bio-metrics followed by the DL test(I was asked to go straight, take a U turn and come back which I did giving the vehicle and hand signals. In case of the RTOs having separate track installed, the test might vary). Once passed, you will be asked to sign in the DL register and be informed the DL will be dispatched through post within 20 days. If in case you have not received the driving license in 20 days, you may enquire the RTO with the application number. The estimated cost would be around 750 INR for geared two wheeler license.Note: This is as per my experience at the Electronic City RTO, Bangalore, Karnataka.Hope this helps. Thank you :)

How do I get a 2 wheeler driving license in Bangalore?
Recently I have finished my LL and DL test and got my Driving Licence from Electronic City RTO ,KA51 , I will sharing some of the problems which I faced do’s and don’ts not the process and documents needed which is answered by various people .LL TEST INFORMATION:1 ) Don’t use the online payment option its better you go there 30 mints earlier and make pay it offline. In my case it worked for the LL slot but not for DL , money got deducted but not reflected in the website and the customer care for Sarathi is useless ,they never respond you so better not to use the payment option online .2 ) While going for LL test , please carry the originals document along with the photo copy , digital copies are not accepted.3 ) For address proof I need to embed my Aadhar Card and Electricity bill copy at the end of the Rental Agreement Page where your Current Address is written.4) Medical Certificate is not required if you are below 40 or 50 (not sure the exact figure) don’t waste time on it.5 ) Always attach the appointment slot printout along with the documents.6) Always signNow 30 minutes earlier than the slot time , if you have any doubt ask the RTO people they will help to address your queries don’t ask the brokers over there .7 ) Prepare well for the test there are lots of youtube and blogs available for it , don’t take it lightly .DL TEST INFORMATION:Once you pass the LL exam, you need to wait 30days for DL test .For Electronic city RTO(KA51) DL test is carried out in HUKUR RTO office .1> Make sure you have an postal cover like below ,where your name and address it written . You need postal stamp(5 or 10 rupees ) . make sure you have it before going to the RTO ,I had spent 1 hr to find the postoffice and stamp .2> First you need to pay the fees in Room-1 (Cash Counter) make sure you carry some change with you ,there is not Card Payment only cash is accepted. They will charge around 650 rupees for 2 wheeler .3 > Once you paid the go the Biometrics room where your photo and signature will be recorded . You need to pay 60 rupees here .4> Once matrices is done they will send you to the cash counter again where they will tele-verify your Id number, chill you don’t have to pay anything here .5> Next step is to go for the Vehicle Registration section where you need to submit your Application and Vehicle Documents , they will ask your Original RC book for cross verification .Once the verify they will ask you to give a test , this test will be on a KIOSK and it consists of four questions , once you complete it, they will give an RFID card for Driving Test on the circuit .6> Final test will be your driving in an the circuit as below , make sure you wear helmet and don’t panic . They will mount Sensors to bike’s foot rest , it finds out how many times you have grounded your sept make sure you should not ground it more that 3 to 4 times , I have touched the ground twice .7> Once you complete the test, the result will be out soon you need to submit the RFID card then they will show you your report sheet , if you pass on both the tests i.e, the the one with the KIOSK and track test then you are through !! . You can take a snap of the result sheet and submit it back to them . Thats all you need to wait 15day to get the DL to your address .I hope it will help. Cheers !!!!
