Did you like or dislike the decrease of utilizing hand-seals in later parts of Naruto and Shippuden?
I have mixed feelings on this topic. In (O.G.) Naruto I really enjoyed how each Jutsu had unique hand signs that allowed the proper chakra control, transformation, etc. of the Jutsu. Also, hand-sign weaving speed was a pretty big factor in a shinobis skill.-Kakashi's hands blur as he does hand signs (second bell test I think, correct me if I'm wrong):However, logically the decrease in hand signs makes sense. When one becomes more practiced at a Jutsu, they need fewer hand signs to form it and get the right balance and concentration of chakra. For example, Tobirama was famous for being able to do an advanced Dragon water-style Jutsu with only one sign, whereas it took Zabuza (and Kakashi) at least forty signs. Also, later on, Sasuke drops the hand signs for Chidori like Kakashi relying on only one or even none at all.In conclusion: I was sad to see hand signs play less of a part in battles but it makes sense from the writers perspective. [It’s also probably easier to draw and animate battle scenes]As always, thank you for the question! This one particularly brought back nostalgia.

Who designed the peace symbol? How did this symbol become so widely accepted?
Per Wikipedia:The internationally recognized symbol for peace was originally designed for the British nuclear disarmament movement by Gerald Holtom in 1958. Holtom, an artist and designer, made it for a march from Trafalgar Square, London to the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment at Aldermaston in England, organised by the Direct Action Committee to take place in April and supported by the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND). Eric Austen (1922–1999) adapted Holtom's designs to ceramic lapel badges. The symbol is a combination of the semaphore signals for the letters "N" and "D," standing for Nuclear Disarmament. In semaphore the letter "N" is formed by a person holding two flags in an upside-down "V," and the letter "D" is formed by holding one flag pointed straight up and the other pointed straight down. Superimposing these two signs forms the shape of the centre of the peace symbol. The original drawing by Gerald Holtom of the CND symbol is housed in the Peace Museum in Bradford, England.Holtom later wrote to Hugh Brock, editor of Peace News, explaining the genesis of his idea in greater depth: "I was in despair. Deep despair. I drew myself: the representative of an individual in despair, with hands palm outstretched outwards and downwards in the manner of Goya's peasant before the firing squad. I formalised the drawing into a line and put a circle round it." Ken Kolsbum, a correspondent of Holtom's, says that the designer came to regret the symbolism of despair, as he felt that peace was something to be celebrated and wanted the symbol to be inverted. Eric Austen is said to have "discovered that the 'gesture of despair' motif had long been associated with 'the death of man', and the circle with 'the unborn child'."The symbol became the badge of CND and wearing it became a sign of support for the campaign for unilateral nuclear disarmament by Britain. An account of CND's early history described it as "a visual adhesive to bind the [Aldermaston] March and later the whole Campaign together ... probably the most powerful, memorable and adaptable image ever designed for a secular cause."Not patented or restricted, the symbol spread beyond CND and was adopted by the wider anti-war movement. It became known in the United States in 1958 when Albert Bigelow, a pacifist protester, sailed a small boat fitted with the CND banner into the vicinity of a nuclear test. Buttons with the symbol were imported into the United States in 1960 by Philip Altbach, a freshman at the University of Chicago. Altbach had traveled to England to meet with British peace groups as a delegate from the Student Peace Union (SPU) and on his return he persauded the SPU to adopt the symbol. Between 1960 and 1964 they sold thousands of the buttons on college campuses. By end of the decade it had become a generic peace sign, crossing national and cultural boundaries.Following an article written by David E. Gumaer in 1970,some conservative and Christian groups have claimed that it has an occult meaning. Gumaer, a member of the John Birch Society, published "Peace Symbols: The Truth About Those Strange Designs," in the John Birch Society's magazine American Opinion saying that the peace symbol had communist, anti-Christian and Satanist associations. Gumaer's claim is often repeated, for example by Christian evangelist Bob Larson in his 1989 book Satanism: the Seduction of America's Youth. It has also been claimed that the peace symbol was originally a Nazi military symbol. In Unicode, the peace symbol is U+262E: ☮, and can thus be generated in HTML by typing ☮ or ☮. However, internet browsers may not have a typeface that can display it.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pea...

What are some of the subtle ways Queen Elizabeth shows her disapproval or dislike of a person? She is known to be polite under a
During social occasions, it is customary for all those due to meet Her Majesty to form a line. A Royal aide, who stands just behind Her Majesty, tells her the name of the person she is meeting and what they do. Her Majesty always begins every conversation. The Queen did not attend school, neither did her younger sister, Princess Margaret. Both were taught at home by tutors and/or a governess/nanny. From all accounts, the sisters’ education was not particularly comprehensive. As a result, Her Majesty has had to teach herself about geography, history and politics, to name just a few subjects. Conversations therefore tend to be very brief and very general. She has several ‘codes’ for her staff, while meeting and greeting. Having initiated a conversation, once she has heard enough, she moves her ever-present handbag from one arm to the other. Her Royal aides will then discreetly move her along the line to the next person.During the Government of Tony Blair, Her Majesty is said to have disliked both Blair and his wife, Cherie Booth, a prominent barrister. Both Blairs were republican. While Tony Blair was always respectful to the Queen (as Prime Minister he met her once a week, every week, for their private and confidential audiences, during which both are free to question the other on pressing issues), Cherie pointedly refused to curtsy to the Queen, even when she was a house guest of the Queen. QEII meets her PMs wherever she is. If she is in Sandringham, the PM sees her there, and the same applies to Balmoral. Cherie was standoffish and incredibly rude. Her Majesty ignored her, as did the rest of her family. When Blair was first elected PM in 1997, he met Princess Anne. Having done the introductions, Blair reportedly told the Princess ‘Please, call me Tony’, to which Anne replied ‘I think we’ll stick with Mr. Blair’.On one of Blair’s early weekly audiences, he walked into the Queen’s drawing room and was mortified when his mobile phone began to ring. According to a footman, Her Majesty is reported to have smiled, and said ‘Oh dear. I do hope it wasn’t anyone important’. Touché!Anyone displaying signs of rudeness (speaking before the Queen, attempting to eat before the Queen, attempting to continue to eat once HM is done eating etc) will be ignored and never invited to return. Her Majesty does not enter into heated debates. Her Majesty is said to have clashed several times with another of her Prime Ministers - Margaret Thatcher. One morning, Her Majesty sent a message to Downing Street, saying that she wished to speak to Mrs. Thatcher immediately. A short while later, she was informed that Mrs. Thatcher was too busy to attend, but would see her later. Furious, Her Majesty summoned Thatcher to the Palace for an urgent audience (possibly concerning The Falkland Islands), and made her stand for the duration of the meeting. When the Queen ‘asks’ to see you, it isn’t a request at all.During a photo shoot with American photographer Annie Leibovitz, Her Majesty wore the gorgeous robes of The Knight of The Garter (pictures below). As Her Majesty posed for the camera, Leibovitz asked if the Queen would remove her tiara, as she thought it ‘too showy’. Her Majesty looked at her in disbelief and said ‘Too showy? And this isn’t?’ (pointing to her incredible KOTG robes). The tiara stayed. Her Majesty in Knight of The Garter regalia:Her Majesty, as photographed by Annie Leibovitz:

How do you keep a regular drawing habit? What do you draw every day and how do you do it?
How do you keep a regular drawing habit? This is a tough one, even for most pros. Often our drawing time, is in the fact, what we do this for a living. We're "forced" to do it. Which inevitably makes drawing into "work" not pleasure. Most pros end up doing something other than drawing to unwind. That said, how do we get past that?First, either buy or make a sketchbook, then...Schedule it. Schedule 15 Minutes a day to draw. That's all, just 15 minutes. At lunch, at night, before you go to work...etc. Make the time. If you have time to play a video game, watch TV, surf the web, read...you sure as heck have the time to draw for 15 minutes. I know a friend here at work that takes his sketchbook to the bathroom. It's sounds gross but it's good "multi-tasking." Time well spent. It's only 15 minutes.Sometimes you'll find those 15 minutes will turn into more, but sometimes not. At least you've got your time in.You also use Lift to help you to move forward with your habit. How do you get past the "beginner's hump?" Pick easy wins. 15 minutes a day is doable. What do you draw everyday and how do you do it?What is in front you? Your breakfast Your lunch The salt and pepper shakers Trees People A building RocksEverything you see, you can draw. What good will this do? It will help you to "see." It will help you pay attention to what things look like rather than what you THINK things look like. It teaches you to draw everything. Pay attention to the "negative space" around objects, rather than just the objects themselves. It gives you clues about how accurate your drawings are. Draw from the inside out, don't just draw the contour of a thing. Simplify first, don't get caught up in detail. Detail is only there to reinforce perspective, volume and sometimes the character of a person or thing.Don't want to do that?Copy Copy and art book with your favorite artist's work. Copy the anatomy drawings from a Bridgman book. Copy the art off a "how to draw book". Copy a comic book or comic strip. What good will this do? It gives you ready made solutions to drawing problems you might encounter. Everything else I wrote about drawing what you see applies to this too. It will help you to "see," etc.Don't want to do that?Practice the Basics Draw lines Draw shapes Draw formsThe top two links above are links to my site. More on that later. What good will this do? Improves your basic drawing foundations and drawing "vocabulary." All drawings are made from these three things. You can never go wrong with practicing them.Don't want to do that?Turn on the TV Pause a movie and draw the scene on the screen. Draw the people in the scene (do it in stick figures to make it funny). Pause an animated movie and copy the characters. What good will this do? It improves your observation skills. It helps you to draw people or characters that DON'T move. You have instant models. It makes you aware of things like composition and perspective. Shapes and lighting.Don't want to do that?Challenge Yourself Join an artist group that gives you a "word of the day" to draw. Download a random phrase App and draw the phrase that pops up like WordDot. Get some Rory's Story Cubes and draw what comes to mind by the results. Roll up a Superhero using the ICONS table top Role-Playing game with friends, and have everyone draw it to see what you all come up with. You can also do this by yourself for fun. What good will this do? Drawing from your imagination is critical for increasing you confidence. It's also fun. Make yourself laugh. Make sure to draw from the inside out. Make sure to keep the guidelines of good design in mind.Don't want to do that?Art Class Take a figure drawing class. Take painting workshops Download some classesWhat good will this do? If you take figure drawing and can get good at drawing the figure, you can draw anything. It's the number one thing you should if you truly want to get good at drawing. All the benefits from the above exercises you will get in a figure drawing class. Especially, if you have good teacher. Other types of classes give you assignments. They force you to draw whether you want to or not.Don't want to do that? Then FIND something you DO want to draw. Because if you can't, then drawing isn't your thing. How do you get past the "beginner's hump?"Pick easy wins. Drawing shapes lines and simple cartoons is doable. Once you get to point where you can do that, you can move on to more challenging things. As for ComicsYes, I'm a comics fan. I also drew Simpsons comics for 12 years on the side. I've done a few comics for fun (Art, Stories & Comics by me) and I'm working on another one now. If you want to do comics, draw EVERYTHING. Re-read the "Draw what's in front of you" suggestion again. In comics, you have to do it all. No short cuts. I hope that helps. This is the kind of information I tend to write about in my newsletter at: Page on TheDrawingWebsite. I encourage you to sign up if you like what I wrote here.

What is an aspect of married life that nobody seems to talk about?
I’m not married, so i guess I understand if my perspective is taken less seriously than the others. However, 2 of my very closest friends are married and have children… and don’t seem particularly enamoured with their relationships anymore, mostly irritated by them in fact. What I noticed is that both women simply gave up after the ink dried on their marriage certificates and further gave up after their first child was born. This isn’t uncommon I’m sure… notably with women (and men) who were raised to think of marriage and kids as the “end game” or “goal” to a happy life. Two of my closest friends became shadows of their former selves due to this. Motherhood changes you for the better, there is no question about that, I want to be a mother some day. But on the flip side… they are both also excruciatingly bored and irritable, and use their children as shields from their husbands. Most recently, both women admitted to holding out on sex because they just don’t “want to” anymore and don’t feel turned on… while simutaneously complaining about how there isn’t enough money coming through the door. They BOTH tell their husbands they have PCOS or bad period cramps to get out of intimacy and nitpick all the things they don’t do right whether its changing diapers wrong or driving too fast or being behind on a mortgage payment. The relationships always seem like competitions instead of partnerships and I’ve awkwardly sat on the couch on numerous occasions listening to them bicker with each other over “who’s turn it is to take out the trash”.These girls spent their entire childhoods salivating over their older cousins wedding dresses, making lists of their future childrens names, adding things to ‘hope chests’ in lew of their magical wedding day with Mr.right. I was always the spectator, the friend with the ever fluctuating boyfriends who was often deeply cynical of things that seemed to just have surface level value. Both of them had major doubts about how much they loved their future husbands before tying the knot…something that continues to give me mild anxiety when i see them all bicker… but both girls carried forward with it because they needed to be supported and didn’t want to work anymore (not an assumption, facts, both girls brought no savings with them, only massive school debt). They were both also only 21 when they got married, and they were convinced they were “past their due date” (yea, i know).Don’t get me wrong, I’m not bashing them… everyone does things differently, and who am I to judge their marriage? I just felt shocked by the indifference that crept in after so little as 2 years of “marital bliss”. That whole concept is garbage if you aren’t putting in the blood, sweat and tears to make it so. Seeing marriage as the end was sincerely the biggest mistake they both made and they slowly grow more and more distant from their partners. As a result it turned me into an extremely cautious person regarding marriage and long term commitment. I’m still working towards finding the right human for me, but I feel relief at what i’ve learned and the importantance in making certain that this person I spend my life with is not just a pretty face to wake up to or an ATM machine to draw from. When i’m old and growing cold, I want to hold the hand of someone who saw marriage as the beginning of a challenging journey and not the end of a fanciful fairytale. Someone who knows they will spend countless mundane Wednesday evenings with me and have the maturity to know our passion will ebb and flow, and that we can’t control each other… but we can commit to the same purpose and hope for the best. That’s the kind of marriage that will be worth the wait.

Where will you find an INFJ on their downtime?
Well, when an INFJ is on their downtime, and doing it right, you wont find them! All right that was a purposely facetious response, yet it holds an amount of truth to it. On an INFJ’s downtime, true downtime, they seek solitude even from their closest companions. If they are lucky enough to have their own special place within their own homes, then an INFJ can become quite the cave-dweller. And, depending on how much daily life drains them, they can stay in their caves for quite extended periods of time only surfacing occasionally for sustenance before quickly darting back down into their holes. (You men are lucky because you can get a “Man Cave” sign which indicates that your room is never to be entered by other family members without an explicit invitation, but I’ve never seen a “Woman Cave” sign. Maybe I need an “INFJ Cave” sign.)If the home is unsuitable for good bouts of solitude, say because they share a home with too many well intentioned extroverts who hate to see them sitting so quietly all on their lonesome for so long, then many INFJ’s will venture out into the wide wide world with the intention of walking it alone. Nature is especially a good draw, because just as an INFJ can absorb the emotions of others, they also can absorb the emotions of nature. Not so much the feelings of animals, but the peacefulness and pleasantness of trees, stones, and water.Although, in the absence of a quiet park or nature trail, a quiet neighborhood stroll might also do the trick. For those INFJ’s who live in the hustle and bustle of the city world (I’m so sorry if you have no choice but to be there), then the ability to zone out and walk through the swathes of passers-by like walls in a labyrinth, neither seeing nor touching but instinctually dodging, can be just as peaceful. (But at all costs avoid eye contact!) And nighttime walks can be a huge draw as well.(I spent a great amount of my college years strolling around campus at night, I was lucky enough to go to a private school with a closed campus, and the dark solitude with the campus sidewalk lights filtering through the many bare tree branches was truly magical and other-worldly. Though I never listened to Greenday, years later, when I heard their Boulevard of Broken Dreams I realized that was sort of my theme song for my life. But only if that song is taken as an upbeat, positive sort of song. Although there have certainly been times of sadness and loneliness, I have often experienced this as more of a bittersweet sort of happy-sadness than a gloomy death knell sort of sadness (at least in retrospect, anyway). And the best way to explain that is to listen to Boulevard of Broken Dreams as an upbeat song because while the lyrics are all about loneliness the tune, itself, is rather cheerful.)On a rainy day, for those INFJ’s who shy away from getting wet (though all wont, and some will actually seek out rainy days as the prime time for a good outdoorsy stroll, I know I have) then a quiet indoor locale will be a good draw. Especially if that locale encompasses some form of a socially agreed upon standoffishness. Think libraries, museums, observatories, graveyards (maybe), bookstores, or the slightly clichéd coffee shops (and possibly the DMV, because nobody wants to be talking to anybody else there). And should anyone else be included in any of these INFJ downtime activities, then that person should know that they are the most important person in the INFJ’s life at that moment.

Why did Napoleon wage war on Europe?
He didn’t. There are evidences (like his private correspondence) that suggest that he did everything he could to avoid war and maintain peace in 1803.In 1802 the French Republic and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland signed the peace treaty of Amiens putting an end to a decade of war between the two nations.Peace however, was short-lived.The treaty stated that the British Army would evacuate the Island of Malta it previously took from the French, in September 1802. The problem was that five month later, in February 1803, the British troops did not had even began to prepare their departure. Furthermore the relations between France and the UK brutally deteriorated when the count of Artois (future Charles X of France) reviewed a British regiment wearing…the colors of the old French monarchy. So Bonaparte summoned the British, Austrian and Russian ambassadors and shouted at the British ambassador during an hour, saying that he did not want war but that if Britain “draw the sword first” France would be “the last to put the sword to its sheath”.The ambassador said later that he had the impression to talk with a dragoon’s captain rather that the chief of state of France. But let’s go back to the Malta problem. The British claimed they wanted to keep the Island for seven years in order to be sure that the island would stay neutral. On may 4th 1803 Bonaparte wrote to the British ambassador, proposing that a neutral party take control of the Island, in the form of a garrison composed of Austrian, Russian or Prussian troops. The British refused, saying that it was impossible because the Emperor of Russia would refuse. To which Bonaparte answer that the king of Prussia and the Emperor of Austria did not pronounce themselves on the matter. Finally Bonaparte, understanding that Britain were determined to keep Malta, sent a letter in which he proposed that the British keep the Island for 10 years and that France keep Taranto and Ortranto, simply resulting in the extension of the conditions of the treaty of Amiens for 10 more years. The British refused and so war began. The rest of the Napoleonic wars, with the exception of the Peninsular War, were started by the other Nations of Europe in order to bring back the monarchy to France.

Was Donald Trump, Jr. set up?
I think there are two ways to answer this question — what’s likely, and what’s possible.I think what is likely, is that Don Jr. was not set up for anything except failure — meaning that there was no malicious plan to screw him over, he just did it to himself by lacking competence in what he was trying to do.But that’s not the only possibility. There is an argument that can be made that Jared Kushner set him up. Bear with me for a minute while I present it.It basically goes like this — Jared Kushner and Don Jr. were both present at the meeting with the Russians, thus having first-hand knowledge of its content and participants.[1] They also both knew about the intent of the meeting (collusion with the Russian government to support Trump and undermine Clinton) because it’s explicitly stated in the emails they both received. [2]Kushner failed to disclose that meeting — or literally any other foreign contact — on his SF-86 form (this is the form that federal government employees submit for their security clearances). [3] He later amended his SF-86 form two times to disclose that meeting and over 100 foreign contacts.[4]His explanation for why he initially omitted these meetings — from a document that includes a sworn statement under penalty of felony criminal charges that the information within is complete to the best of your knowledge — is that a member of his staff “prematurely” submitted the form in error. [5] As I can personally verify, having gone through the SF-86 process for my own clearance, that’s not really a possibility unless you accidentally clicked the wrong button 28 times in a row, accidentally e-signed it, and accidentally gave your legal medical release as well. (It’s a VERY long form, with a lot of confirmations).[6] So as anyone whose ever gotten a security clearance can tell you, that explanation is bogus. Now, if you forget to disclose a meeting or two on that form, or you got a date or name wrong — not unusual for very experienced applicants, or people in senior positions in certain fields — you can amend the form to include the names you missed. It’s unusual to do that more than once, or as widely as Kushner did. Now, here’s where it gets really interesting. Look at the timeline —June 9, 2016, is the meeting with the Russians.January 18, 2017: Kushner files his initial SF-86 which fails to disclose the foreign contacts. Kushner allegedly notifies the FBI “the next day” that he would fill in the missing information later. [7]April 6, 2017: New York Times reports that Kushner failed to disclose numerous meetings, including with Russian Amb. Sergei Kisylak. [8]May 11, 2017: Kushner files a first revision to his SF-86, and receives what is believed to be standard questioning from the FBI some time in mid-May.[9]“Third week of June, 2017” (exact date unknown) Marc Kasowitz, Trump’s personal attorney; and Alan Garten, chief legal officer for the Trump Organization, are informed of the existence of the emails, by Kushner’s attorneys (who had “discovered” the emails). [10]June 21, 2017: Kushner files his second revision to the SF-86. This discloses the Russian meeting to the FBI. [11]June 23, 2017: The FBI questions Kushner again over the second revision.[12] This is NOT standard.July 9–11: NY Times breaks the story of the Russian meeting, and the emails. After being contacted by the Times, Don Jr. chooses to release the emails via his twitter, before the Times can publish their story. During this time Don Jr.’s characterization of the meeting is first that it was about adoptions; then that it was about opposition research but they didn’t get any so it ended up being about adoptions; and finally admitting (with the release of the emails) that it was about the damaging information provided from the Russians, as explained clearly in the emails. At least one of these statements was drafted with the consultation of the White House legal team, and was “signed off” on by Trump himself. [13]July 12: Trump says “I only heard of it two or three days ago” (referring to the meeting). [14] In order for that to be true, it would require that two of Trump’s children, his campaign manager, his personal lawyer, the lawyers for his children, and the chief legal officer intentionally kept that information from Trump for at least two to three weeks (or in the case of Kushner/Jr./Manafort, for over a year.)So it begs the question — since Kushner knew of the meetings, had already disclosed them to the FBI (quietly, through the second SF-86 amendment, without trying to draw attention to it), and knew how damaging the information would be to their credibility on the Russia collusion question— why was Don Jr. allowed to make statements that Kushner and others knew weeks in advance were false? The answer is of course up to interpretation, but “what is possible” is that Kushner and Trump, knowing that the contents of the Russian meeting email would be going public sooner rather than later (since the media already had learned of the meeting), are attempting to set up Don Jr. to take the fall. By directing the media’s attention to Jr., who can be laughed off as an incompetent idiot who didn’t know what he was doing, Kushner buys more time for himself, taking some of the heat away from himself and his father-in-law, during the critical days ahead of the Trumpcare healthcare vote. Incidentally, Don Jr. makes for a great fall-guy, because even though he unofficially “advises” his father, he’s technically still an uncleared, private civilian who is subject to far fewer rules on disclosure, transparency, and honesty as Kushner is. And we know that the Trump organization places a high premium on protecting Kushner, who (along with Ivanka) is probably the single most influential person on Trump inside or outside the entire administration. [15]It’s also been speculated that the source of the leaks may not actually be Kushner, but could be Steve Bannon — who dislikes Kushner intensely and has been in a political power struggle with him since the transition.[16] If that’s true, then Jr. isn’t so much being “set up” so much as he’s “collateral damage.”Again, I think the most likely explanation is that Don Jr. is simply an incompetent idiot. But we know Jared Kushner, while he may not be “competent” in the traditional Washington sense, is not an idiot. He’s the one to keep an eye on here, not Don Jr.Footnotes[1] Trump Tower Russia meeting: At least eight people in the room[2] Kushner Omitted Meeting With Russians on Security Clearance Forms[3] Details revealed about Jared Kushner's security clearance forms[4] Details revealed about Jared Kushner's security clearance forms[5] Kushner’s lawyers say he mistakenly left meetings with the Russians off his security forms twice[6] https://nbib.opm.gov/record-prov...[7] People aren't buying Kushner's lawyers' explanation for security clearance form omissions[8] Kushner Omitted Meeting With Russians on Security Clearance Forms[9] Sources: Trump lawyers knew of Russia emails three weeks ago[10] Sources: Trump lawyers knew of Russia emails three weeks ago[11] Sources: Trump lawyers knew of Russia emails three weeks ago[12] Sources: Trump lawyers knew of Russia emails three weeks ago[13] Rancor at White House as Russia Story Refuses to Let the Page Turn[14] Trump says he learned ‘couple of days ago’ of son’s meeting with Russian lawyer[15] Did Jared leak the Donald Trump Jr meeting emails?[16] The Inside Story of the Kushner-Bannon Civil War

How did you feel about Meghan Markle's very simple wedding dress and hairstyle?
My mother studied hair and fashion in the sixties at the London College of Fashion so our family can’t even watch a television drama without a discussion about construction, historical accuracy and 360 degree aesthetics. We LOVE a wedding! The dressThe dress was stunning in its simplicity, regal and elegant…. but we know why she changed out of it later. My sister in law wore a dress which was almost the same - no twenty foot train - and as a six foot slim blonde, she looked amazing too.But it means I know the secret of this dress - you cannot raise your arms! Now before you think this was in her case down to poor construction, and the Givenchy dress would be different, know that my s-I-l was lucky enough to have a family member who was a couturier cut her wedding dress for her.See how the sleeve is sewn into place? Draw an imaginary dot under her arm and imagine her raising her arm, the dot would normally go up too. If you have a t-shirt or shirt on now, raise your arm and see what happens to the fabric at the side of your body - it goes up. But because her bodice is cut so perfectly around her torso, her dress will have no ride in it and her arms are effectively pinned to her side so she cannot raise them much more than she does in this photo without lifting the whole dress and the boat neckline coming away from her shoulders. This is not a criticism, it’s just the secret of this kind of dress and we must all suffer for our beauty ;) My mother has sewn me into dresses before, I have worn shoes which are so high the pain is ‘exquisite’, and I have worn dresses that you can’t sit in. Looked amazing though! If you want to be comfortable and have free range of movement, wear yoga pants. The hairHer hair was ‘okay’ but modern hairdressers cannot back-comb properly. Anyone trained in the sixties would have back-combed her crown: this would have given some volume so that the veil didn’t fall flat on her head but raised up behind the tiara - think Princess Anne’s wedding hairThink of a hair style not as a 2D piece of art but as a sculpture - the sign of a great sculpture is that the form is appealing all the way around (if you rotate it on a plinth, it looks good from every angle). Meghan’s hair looked good from the front and probably looked amazing from the back too, but we couldn’t see the back under the veil. The hairdresser should have concentrated more on this view from an angle. With height at the crown, it would have looked better. The messy bun was the right style but the execution wasn’t adjusted for a wedding. With skill, the hair can be made to have staying power and volume without looking like ‘wedding hair’ (yuk), it’s just all the messiness needs to be contrived not real.
