Is the stylus in the Galaxy Note 5 really useful?
I would love to answer this question. The reason, i used note 3 for nearly an year then bounced to an iphone then to a oneplus one and then finally returned to note 5. With all the phones i have used except for the note 3, the one thing i missed was a stylus. While many suggest a stylus is just an accessory and not a need, i bet once you start using the note you get super addicted to its functionality and the features it offers. STATUTORY WARNING: having a stylus doesn't mandate that one should use it for simple tasks such as answering a call, because rather than productive, under most cases it makes you look dumb. But when needed, use it and flaunt it.Let me Start with the Standard features of the Samsung Stylus. This one is a standard image that pops up when the spen/stylus is removed. This is called an AirCommand. You can access a variety of utilities from air command. While the four functions have remained pretty similar since the note 3, the note 5 also allows to have some applications shortcut. Let me make a quick run through all the functionsAction memo- thats like a quick note thing. Something an idea, pops in your mind and you want to make a note of that, that's it. There you go pop that pen and open action memo and jolt down the notes. This can be minimised and rotated around screen. Additionally, it can split screen with other apps as well. The stylus writes effortlessly around the note making it a fun. Earlier it needed to be held between 70 to 90 degrees to write smoothly. However, to be fair the new Spen notes down at any angle, accurately, smoothly and effortlessly. Trust me when i say this this stylus is brilliantly accurate. You might have a touch device and you can try those blobby rubber pens people call stylus but this one is amazing. This is a true stylus spot on accurate 2. Smart select - is an option from which using your atylus you can clip any part of the screen in any shape and then share it and move it along. You can also save it to your gallery or scrapbook. The pen is smooth to hover around and select unlike the big rubber tip stylus and the big screen of the note 5 makes it an absolute delight.3. Screenwrite- this one is the finest feature you can use your spen on. Imagine you are reading an article on internet and you decide to capture the screen and send someone. But lets say you want to point out some stuff, or be humorous about it or make some scrambling on the page for quick notes, the stulus is then the perfect element.4. SNotes- this is where the things get corporate and business like. So Samsung has a feature called SNote where in you can make quick notes. The pen makes the perfect companion for that. The reason its beautiful at writing and then you can also stabilise your hand on the big screen of note 5 without scrambles on the edge of your snote and keep writing as much as you want. Let me share a real experience with you. First day, a month back, when i started on the job with my note 5, i went down to the team meeting without a pad and a pen. I was fairly new and this was a meeting involving big guns including the Managers and the CIO. Good God,To make me realize, i had the note 5. I took it out and made effortless notes of the meeting with the pen for 2 hours. The good even gots better when i started to geel how simple and great this is.Feels like writing on a book and has a quick rubber for quick edit and edit again and again and again. Its fantastic. There after i always carry note to all my meeting and share the notes instantly and immediately. That feels like a digital book. You can edit it, and keep it organised.5. Complex editing- ever wondered of how to edit complex powerpoints or sign pdf documents right there. While most computers have pdf readers but signing the paper may require you to get a digital sign that ylu might have saved earlier or print paper sign and then scan. I rather transfer the doc on my note. Sign the doc using my spen and mail back to my device. Its accurate as the real pen, seamless, quick and no wastage of paper. Last week in the train, call me a bluff if you may, i did my entire powerpoint presentation using the stylus and my note 5. To sum up, The device is a beast and the Spen is like a fine weapon. Brilliantly made and pleasure to perform with.Other functions of Spen in the note includes quick previews of emails, calls, gallery, scrolling the page during web browsing, and importantly now you can also make notes with the screen off. Besides if you artistic, samsung also offers a high end art/drawing applicatio where people share there creativity done using the pen. Finally, on the fun side, the pen has a click button at the back to bring it out of the device. This button is also a good way of playing around and kiddish pastime when you getting bored. Hey i do it.I am not a samsung fanatic, neither i am promoting any device. But the fact remains the spen is a fantastic utility with a note and it definitely contributes to the productivity. Takeit from a note 5 user /tech enthusiastic.

Why is the Apple application Preview such a total failure?
Actually, for a free application that just comes on your computer it’s pretty darned excellent. Not only is it a fast and convenient image and PDF viewer, it even lets me digitally sign PDF documents. I can even sign for my boss (with her approval). How do you get your signature into Preview? You can either sign with your finger on the trackpad of your laptop, or you can just sign a piece of paper and hold it up to the camera for it to see. Once in, you can just apply the signature through a menu item any time you want. Not only this, but its image editing is pretty darned good. The color correcting tools are first rate and even the “auto” fix for exposure is pretty solid. ‘ I have Photoshop and Lightroom and I still use Preview many times a day. I’m sure millions of others do, too.

What is the best way of pasting an image of your signature into a PDF document on Windows?
Do you (i) just want to paste the image, or do you want to (ii) tie this to a digital signature? You can do it either way with signNow Pro. (i) If you are just pasting the image then use the Comment markup tool called 'stamps'. In Acrobat 9 Pro this is accessed via Comments %3E Comment & Markup Tools %3E Stamps %3E Create Custom Stamp. Here you can select the page from any existing PDF file and use that as your image. There's also a shortcut if you just want to past an image file, as Joel Geraci points out: "copy your signature to the clipboard, open the file in Acrobat, paste. The image will become a 'stamp' that you can then size and position as needed." (ii) Acrobat digital signatures allow you to configure an image to be used when signing with a public private key pair. The advantage is that the document is protected from tampering by a cryptographic hash. The tools for creating a signature appearance are found under Preferences %3E Security. Look for Digital Signatures %3E Appearance, click New, select Imported Graphic and click File. You then select the page of a PDF file, just as you did with the stamp tool. Note that you'll need a certificate (public private key pair) to use with this feature, but it is fairly easy to create your own self-signed certificate. How do you turn the scan of your signature into a page of a PDF? For a bitmap result just drag the image onto Acrobat, or open the image file using the Acrobat File %3E Open menu command, making sure to select 'show all files' in the Open dialog. If you want a nice line art signature you will need to trace your signature and save it as a PDF. signNow Illustrator has a great trace feature that can be used for this purpose.
