What are the prerequisites for a Catholic marriage?
Marriage guidelines vary from diocese to diocese. In the United States, most Roman Catholic diocesan guidelines are generally similar, but you should check to be sure of any differences in your diocese (each of these requirements generally has a form associated with it):Diocesan GuidelinesAt least one party must be baptized and provide proof with what is called a "current original" certificate. This does not mean the actual paper from the day you were baptized, but an official certificate recently obtained from the parish where you were baptized stating that your baptism is recorded there in the parish register and noting any other sacraments you have received on the back of the certificate (any time you receive a sacrament--confirmation, marriage, holy orders--the church of your baptism is notified and they record that). If one of the parties was not baptized in the Catholic Church, a record of baptism must be obtained from that person's denomination or, if that is not available, written testimonials of people who witnessed that baptism (e.g., letter from your parents: "We had John Doe baptized at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit in Peoria in March of 1980.").Both parties must be free to marry (i.e., not currently married to someone else, not under any coercion to marry, and free from any impediments such as consanguinity) and sign a statement to that effect. In addition, they must have others attest to that fact.Have an interview with the priest or deacon at the parish. This is actually structured and goes according to a form the priest or deacon must fill out, but the questions are supposed to be answered in person. As part of this interview, if one party is not Catholic, that party will be informed of the Catholic party's responsibility to do whatever they can to ensure that children are raised Catholic.Participate in a FOCCUS pre-marriage inventory and a follow-up session at the parish. FOCCUS stands for Facilitating Open Couple Communication Understanding and Study. It is a standardized instrument (yes, with a number 2 pencil and little circles) that assesses communications skills between the couple. It is not pass/fail or anything like that. The FOCCUS administrator (usually a parishioner who is a therapist) will provide suggestions for improving communication in areas where the instrument may indicate some area for growth. The results are confidential and shared only with the couple.Participate in a marriage preparation session. The most common option is called Engaged Encounter and can be done over either a weekend or evenings over a period of weeks. This is a group session with other engaged couples to discuss expectations of married life.If one of the parties is not Catholic:A baptized non-Catholic Christian: the Catholic party must obtain a dispensation from the pastor. This is routinely given merely by the pastor checking a box on the interview form. This is called a "Mixed Marriage."A non-baptized person of any other religion: the Catholic party must obtain the permission of the bishop. This is routinely given by submission of a form and prompt reception of a letter granting permission. This is called "Disparity of Cult" (cult being an Anglicized form of the Latin cultus, which means worship). If the wedding is not to be in a Catholic church building:If the other party is baptized, the marriage may take place in a church building of that person's denomination with a Catholic priest or deacon participating with the minister or priest of the non-Catholic's tradition. If the other party is not baptized, the wedding may take place in a synagogue, mosque or temple or any building dedicated to divine worship, or in a hotel ballroom or similar. Permission is needed for hotel ballroom or similar from the bishop and is called a "Dispensation from Form" (usually requested at the same time as the Disparity of Cult).Practically no American diocese will ever give anyone permission to have a wedding ceremony outdoors.State GuidelinesStates regulate who may be married. The Church must abide by state laws, which require a marriage license to be presented to the priest or deacon, who will act as an agent of the state as well as ordained clergy in presiding at the wedding.Parish GuidelinesIn addition to the above, many parishes have their own rules. Typically, parishes require:That one of the parties be a registered member of the parish for at least a certain number of months prior to the wedding (usually six). That the initial interview be scheduled at least a certain number of months before the scheduled wedding date (usually six). The couple must meet with a parish wedding coordinator to arrange for details on music and other such details. At some parishes you might encounter clergy who have their own unwritten "rules." For example, some may demand that the couple, if cohabitating, live separately prior to the wedding. Such are not official guidelines. If you encounter such a priest or deacon, you can go to another parish where they will treat you better.Note that guidelines for Eastern Catholic Churches may differ and there may be additional guidelines for Roman Catholics marrying Eastern Catholics. As an example, a deacon may not preside at a wedding of a Roman and Eastern Catholic (or Orthodox) couple.

How is being homeless expensive?
Food for one thing. You can buy tinned food, vegetables, ready meals, frozen food, etc. all at relatively cheap prices. When I was homeless, I had no means of cooking or storing food, other than keeping it in my pockets. For me, food had to be eaten straight from the packet.Food that's ready to eat is more expensive as it's gone through more processes at the factory.Travel is expensive. Sure, not as expensive as your £50,000 Maserati, but once you've paid for it, bought insurance and had it serviced, you're probably only paying for petrol for the majority of the time you drive it. A full tank of petrol will take you a very long way. I had to walk everywhere as I could not afford to get the bus. One gets on next to the driver so there is no way of sneaking on and getting a free ride somewhere. Even if you could, you're probably walking back anyway so you don't want to go too far.Being ill is expensive. Here in the UK we have the wonderful NHS. I can go to hospital, have major surgery, after-care, medication, etc. and not pay a single penny. There is no better system anywhere on Earth, and I will ignore you if you tell me I'm wrong. However, if I get ill and am prescribed medication by my GP, I have to pay for the medication at the pharmacy. You only get free prescriptions if you are exempt from paying or are in receipt of welfare benefits. You need an address to claim benefits so most homeless people cannot do so, despite being in more need of them than most others. If I needed medication on the streets, I had to pay around £8. That’s a massive amount of money when I don't have any.Can you, living in a house, scrape together £500 if you need to, even without savings in the bank? Probably. If all else fails, you could sell some possessions. That £500 would pay a month’s deposit and first month's rent on the cheapest room I can find in the town where I was homeless, but it was so far out of my price range when I was homeless, they may as well have been asking for £500b.I tried begging - once. I spent all day asking strangers to spare anything, even a single penny. In return, I spent all day getting spat on, had milkshake thrown at me, was assaulted twice and at the end of the day I had “earned” less than 50p. I would rather kill myself than go through that again.Being homeless is traumatic, and very expensive if you want to stay healthy.

How can I prepare my English for a banking exam?
Note-This is a long answer but believe me, it is worth reading. This answer targets every competitive exam in which the English section plays a major role.I am taking an example of English section of bank exams because it is the hardest nut to crack.I am not promoting any apps, websites. I am preparing for this exam also. I have watched a lot of videos of the English strategy. They just beat around the bush and say only two things-Do reading and Improve your vocab. But they don't tell the exact sources that we should follow. That’s why i am writing this answer.English is the toughest section in the bank exams. Most of the people think that I am from English medium background, therefore, cracking this section is a piece a cake for me. This is the reason why the most of the people are not able to clear even sectional cutoff of this section. Just see the cutoff-IBPS PO PRE 2015 CUTOFF-(Out of 30)IBPS PO MAINS 2015 CUTOFF-IBPS PO PRE 2016 CUTOFF-IBPS PO MAINS 2016 CUTOFF-IBPS PO PRE 2017 CUTOFF-IBPS PO MAINS 2017 CUTOFF-(Out of 40)Did you notice something? The cutoff for this section is in single digit out of 30/40 marks. So you can guess the level of this section. That's why I showed screenshot to know the importance of this section. Now how to prepare for this section? There are 3 major parts in this section-1.Reading Comprehension.2.Vocab.3.Grammar.Now let's discuss one by one1.Reading Comprehension-To master this section do at least one- hour editorial reading(Business/Economy related articles) of The Hindu, Indian Express, Economic Times etc. There is no need to buy any newspaper. Just install this app.Daily editorial-The advantage of this app is that when you click on the word the meaning of the word will pop up. So there is no need to use the dictionary again and again. And please don't waste your precious time in jotting down current affairs and vocab. You have two choices either waste your time in jotting down things or follow my advice(i did this thing and believe me making notes is an utter waste of time). For speed reading, I suggest these two apps-1.2.For RC practice-Ideal Test Simulator For The RC Section Found On All Standard Tests.Book to follow for speed reading-How to read better and faster by Norman Lewis.2. Vocab- I have already discussed the importance of these two apps. I will provide the link to the answers at the end of this answer.1.VOLT-2.VOCAB MEME-Follow these lectures for vocabulary-How to build your English Vocabulary - YouTube3. Grammar- This is the section where most the banking aspirants waste their precious time. There are thousands of rules and cramming these rules is a difficult task. Do reading and your half of the work is done for this section. But if you are preparing for SSC then just follow these two books-Plinth to paramount by Neetu Singh.Mirror of common errors by Dr Ashok Kumar Singh. For grammar follow these videos by MERITSHINE-1.GRAMMAR BY SAMIR SIR-Learn the nuances of English Grammar - YouTube2. GRAMMAR BY RATNABHA SHAH SIR-English Grammar for Competitive Exams - YouTubeSome other useful pieces of stuff-Which dictionary should we follow? It depends on person to person but I follow Merriam Webster. What are some important lectures?1.THE EDITORIAL TIMES - YouTube2. Meritshine videos on English.Where to practice?1.Sanctum English2. Daily quizzes of adaa, gradeup, ibpsguide, aspirant zone, olive board.Links of other answers that may be useful for you-1.Nitish Arya's answer to What are good YouTube channels to learn English language?2.Nitish Arya's answer to Which is the best app for learning English vocabulary?3.Nitish Arya's answer to What is the best youtube channel to prepare for bank exam?4.Nitish Arya's answer to How does one read the Hindu newspaper for bank exams?5.Nitish Arya's answer to Which is the best book for reasoning and aptitude?Request-If you know better resources/strategy please tell me in the comment section. Please don't be narrow-minded people who think that if we share our strategy then it will increase the competition. Just remember this quote-Aap jeevan me tab tak safal nhi ho skate jab tak aap dusro ke safal hone m unki madad nhi krte.To get more guidance about bank exams, you can search my channel name on youtube.Channel name-BeNextBankerI will not provide the link. If you are serious banking aspirant then you will definitely search. If i will provide the link then non banking aspirant will click on the link just to see my channel only. They will watch the video only for 1 minute. So why to waste their precious time./-

What incident on an airline got you a good compensation?
I was on a KLM flight from Houston to Amsterdam sitting in economy class when I noticed an older lady who needed some help from a stewardess but she didn’t speak nor understand English. Neither the stewardess nor anyone else could understand the lady and shortly there was an announcement on the PA system asking for anyone who knows Polish to come up front. No one went up front. However, I know a bit of Ukrainian language which is somewhat similar to Polish. By then anyone could see and hear that the lady was getting very nervous and tense because nobody could understand her. I volunteered to translate and after trying a different combination of words was able to figure out that the lady was afraid that she will not be able to find her connecting gate in Amsterdam and will miss her flight to Poland. The stewardess assured her they were aware of the situation and someone will meet her after the plane lands and she will be escorted to her connecting gate. Feeling pretty good about helping a fellow passenger I returned to my seat. A few minutes later a stewardess comes over to my seat, asks me to get my carry-on luggage and to follow her. It was a Boeing 747 with an upstairs business class area where I was deposited for the remainder of the flight. Keep in mind that transatlantic business class seats from Houston are really expensive, around $5000 USD or more. It ended up to be a win-win situation for all involved. Thanks for reading.EDIT - thanks everyone for reading and your kind comments. I am amazed by response. However, I’d like to add another story below. One should always try to help given the opportunity. A long time ago when I traveled to Honduras to visit my college friends I didn’t know that there is a $10 airport exit tax payable at the the customs/passport control area of the airport. By the time I was leaving I already spent all my money. Thus, I found myself in a dire predicament because without paying this tax I was told that I’d removed from the flight. I was starting to panic. There were two flights leaving at the same time, one to Houston and another one to New Orleans. A stranger from the New Orleans flight saw my desperation, approached Honduran official and paid the tax on my behalf. What a relief!!! I tried to get his contact information in order to pay back the money after getting back home but he told me not to worry about it because what goes around comes around and he also said to me that we all should spread good deeds given a chance. With that he boarded his plane and left me standing there. To this day I don’t know who he was because he never introduced himself but he was a good man who taught me a valuable lesson that given a chance and being able to do so one should always try help.Cheers you all.
