How do I get someone overseas to sign a non-disclosure agreement?
The enforcement of E-signature laws, have made e-signatures as legally binding as wet-ink signatures [ https://blog.getsignNow.com/miscellaneous/esign-act-us/?utm_campaign=AwareAndAcquire_Generic&utm_content=nov3_esign_act_us&utm_medium=Community&utm_source=Quora ]. Therefore, if you are looking to sign an NDA with a user located overseas, the best way to go about it is to leverage e-signatures. The only condition is that it should caters to the attributes mentioned under e-signature regulations that apply to the geographical jurisdiction of your business. For example, two of the e-signature regulations that apply to U.S - ESIGN Act and UETA - state that: (i) A record or signature may not be denied legal effect or enforceability solely because it is in electronic form. (ii) A contract may not be denied legal effect enforceability solely because an electronic record was used in its formation (iii) If a law requires a record to be in writing , an electronic record satisfies the law (iv) If a law requires a signature, an e-signatures satisfies the law. One thing to note here is that, the UETA in particular states that it covers documents used in “transactions between parties” - which includes NDAs.

I'm looking for a solution to collect someone's signature online
Many businesses actively collect e-signature online while working with partners and customers in order to add one or more signatures to an already typed document by using some specialized tool that easily integrates into a document workflow. For many use cases, it is needed to sign an already typed document and avoid signing digital documents by hand - which is tedious otherwise cause you need to print, sign and scan all that stuff - that’s why such electronic signature tools are used - and, in this case, it is better to use a specialized tool, like Draw Your Signature Online and Sign PDF - ...

How can I draw on a PDF file?
Unlike editing text or images within a PDF, drawing on a PDF is a relatively simple task. Desktop PDF Readers I would recommend using signNow (available on both PC and Mac). You can download Reader for free here: signNow Reader DC [ https://get.signNow.com/reader/ ] After opening Reader, click the "Comment" tab in the navigation bar, and then "Drawing Markups". You should be able to cover it with shapes including a rectangle or circle. There is also an eraser tool that may be useful for what you are trying to accomplish. Online PDF editors Personally, I'm a fan of using online PDF tools given that they are also free and have many features allowing you to perform a broader range of tasks. They are particularly useful if you need to regularly merge, split, sign and rotate PDF files. For online PDF services, I would check out PDF Pro [ https://www.pdfpro.co/ ] (full disclosure - I founded PDF Pro). After uploading a PDF file to the online PDF editor, you can draw a range of shapes or use the eraser to modify the contents of your exam. Good luck!

How do I annotate PDF files on a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1?
One app I’d recommend for PDF annotations is Markup [ https://markups.kdanmobile.com/ ] by Kdan Mobile - it’s very easy to use whether you’re working on a Samsung Galaxy Note, or any other device. All you have to do is to open the PDF you want to work on and annotate it, then save it on the cloud of your choice. Besides making annotations, you can do plenty of other work with your PDFs, such as highlighting documents, creating teams and team shared folders for easy collaboration, working on texts directly in the built-in browser, then creating links to your highlights. It’s also possible to add freehand writing, stickers, notes and shapes to whatever document you’re working on, as well as adding images or texts to your PDF stamps. Signing documents and filling in forms is another useful feature of Markup, and this basically lets you to do quite a few different types of work with your PDFs, with no need to use additional apps. Markup makes working with PDFs convenient and easy - whether it’s annotating, personalizing, sharing and editing, this app takes care of multiple types of work at once. Disclaimer: I am part of Kdan’s team and my answers might be a bit biased.

What is the best way of pasting an image of your signature into a PDF document on Windows?
Do you (i) just want to paste the image, or do you want to (ii) tie this to a digital signature? You can do it either way with signNow Pro. (i) If you are just pasting the image then use the Comment markup tool called 'stamps'. In Acrobat 9 Pro this is accessed via Comments %3E Comment & Markup Tools %3E Stamps %3E Create Custom Stamp. Here you can select the page from any existing PDF file and use that as your image. There's also a shortcut if you just want to past an image file, as Joel Geraci points out: "copy your signature to the clipboard, open the file in Acrobat, paste. The image will become a 'stamp' that you can then size and position as needed." (ii) Acrobat digital signatures allow you to configure an image to be used when signing with a public private key pair. The advantage is that the document is protected from tampering by a cryptographic hash. The tools for creating a signature appearance are found under Preferences %3E Security. Look for Digital Signatures %3E Appearance, click New, select Imported Graphic and click File. You then select the page of a PDF file, just as you did with the stamp tool. Note that you'll need a certificate (public private key pair) to use with this feature, but it is fairly easy to create your own self-signed certificate. How do you turn the scan of your signature into a page of a PDF? For a bitmap result just drag the image onto Acrobat, or open the image file using the Acrobat File %3E Open menu command, making sure to select 'show all files' in the Open dialog. If you want a nice line art signature you will need to trace your signature and save it as a PDF. signNow Illustrator has a great trace feature that can be used for this purpose.

Is this correct, “Please find the signed copy and send us back the copy after you sign there”?
Not entirely. By saying "please find the signed copy" you are asking the person to look for and identify the signed copy. I think what you mean is "Please find attached/enclosed", depending on whether you are sending an email with an attachment or a letter with an enclosure. I think you also want to make it clear that what you are sending is your signature, rather than the fully signed document. So you should make that clear as well. "Sign there" doesn't really make sense in English. You could say:"Please find attached/enclosed our signature to the document. Please countersign this and return it to us."However, you probably notice that starting two sentences in a row with "please + verb is a bit awkward, so stylistically this would be better:"I attach/enclose our signature to the document. Please countersign this and return it to us."PS you need to use your full name on Quora.

Will electronic signatures on contracts hold up in a court of law?
That depends on what exactly you mean by an "electronic signature", and the type of contract that you're trying to enforce. Generally, the fact that a signature is electronic instead of a physical mark is not sufficient for it to be outright ignored by the law. In fact, the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) explicitly allows for the validity of electronic signatures (something I covered in length on Are digital signatures via iPhone/iPad recognized as legally binding?):§ 1-201. General Definitions(39) "Signed" includes any symbol executed or adopted by a party with present intention to authenticate a writing. This is why an "X" on a contract is sufficient to count as a signature - it is a "symbol" that is "executed" by a party with "intent" to "authenticate" the contract.§ 2-211. Legal Recognition of Electronic Contracts, Records, and Signatures(1) A record or signature may not be denied legal effect or enforceability solely because it is in electronic form.(2) A contract may not be denied legal effect or enforceability solely because an electronic record was used in its formation.(3) This article does not require a record or signature to be created, generated, sent, communicated, received, stored, or otherwise processed by electronic means or in electronic form.(4) A contract formed by the interaction of an individual and an electronic agent under Section 2-204(4)(b) does not include terms provided by the individual if the individual had reason to know that the agent could not react to the terms as provided. This basically means that, just because the "signature" is in electronic format, it's entirely valid.§ 2-212. ATTRIBUTIONAn electronic record or electronic signature is attributable to a person if it was the act of the person or the person's electronic agent or the person is otherwise legally bound by the act. This allows you to have PayPal or some other third party or application to which you've assigned the power bind you to a contract.

How can you save a word doc as HTML to insert it as a signature on the iPhone and iPad?
I'll break down all the process to several steps:To save a Word doc as HTML you should follow the next steps:1. Open your file2. Go to “File” Menu 3. Click “Save As"4. In "File Format" select "Save as a Web Page"Important: When you create an HTML file using Word it has specific formatting that often is not read properly by other solutions. So your signature can look different or be corrupted.2. Open this file in your browser. You'll see your signature. Better to use Chrome.3. Select all (Ctrl+A), then Copy (Ctrl+C).4. Open your email client:Click "New Message"Paste copied signatureSend yourself email5. Open this email on your iPhone/iPad6. Copy your signature (Choose "Select all")7. Go to Settings:Scroll and select "Mail"Scroll down to signature settingsSelect your accountPaste your signatureShake your phone and click Undo (I know that it's weird, but this saves the formatting)But in my opinion, it's better to use an email signature generator. As you'll save time, you can choose one of the templates and customize them as you want. And services have already spent time on testing and making sure that your signature looks ok in all email clients. You can try using the free generator as email signature editor - NEWOLDSTAMP
