What are great examples of viral UX/UI design patterns?
Note! An expanded version of this post is now available as a downloadable pdf which you can get here: http://worklogistics.com/category/design-patterns/virality/ How this Post is Organized The following is part of a larger product virality study I’m working on. There are three parts here: * Virality K-Factor equation * Virality design pattern library * Reference sharing design Product Virality: Basic structure and the K-Factor Equation In the diagram below, I’ve broken product virality into two parts: Sharing and Engagement and I’ve organized and expanded the standard virality equation around these phases to get better insight into the factors that go into it. These factors are color coded and matched to specific design patterns, which follow below. The attempt here is to directly link the virality equation with specific UX design solutions so that the two perspectives can inform each other. UX Design Pattern Library The UX design patterns below are organized by phase. Each pattern is color coded to show which part of the virality K-factor equation they impact (see above for key). There are five basic phases: * The act of Sharing/Inviting * The Invitation * Sign up * First Run Engagement * Deepening Engagement This is a general approach and the order and importance of each phase will vary for different products, for example, some products may not have a sign up at all. The Sharing/Invite Ask The context for this phase is that a user is in the process of making a decision to share content or to invite another user. The main challenges for this step are: a) getting a user to decide to share b) making it all the way through the invite process and c) increasing the number and frequency of invites. Each example below illustrates one or more design patterns that address these challenges. This examples come from the following sites: * Quora [ https://www.quora.com/topic/Quora ] http://www.quora.com/ * LinkedIn (product) [ https://www.quora.com/topic/LinkedIn-product-1 ] http://www.linkedin.com/ * Fast Company [ https://www.quora.com/topic/Fast-Company ] http://www.fastcompany.com/ * StumbleUpon [ https://www.quora.com/topic/StumbleUpon ] http://www.stumbleupon.com/home/ * SlideShare [ https://www.quora.com/topic/SlideShare ] http://www.slideshare.net/ * Geni [ https://www.quora.com/topic/Geni ] http://www.geni.com/home Engagement: The Invitation The context for this phase is that our potential new user has just received an invite and they are in the process of deciding what to do with the invite. The design goal is to get users to a) read, view or otherwise engage with the invite and b) accept the invite and follow link back to site (or take the next step in engagement whatever that may be). Examples come from: * Quora [ https://www.quora.com/topic/Quora ] http://www.quora.com/ * Flickr (product) [ https://www.quora.com/topic/Flickr-product ] http://www.flickr.com/ * UX Show and Tell http://uxshowandtell.com/ * SlideShare [ https://www.quora.com/topic/SlideShare ] http://www.slideshare.net/ Engagement: Sign Up Note Sign up is a major hurdle for users, instead of signing up first, often a better design is to have users use the service prior to signing up. This is called Lazy Registration and it’s used to deepen engagement and user commitment before going through sign up. The context here is the user is in the process of deciding if they want to sign up for the service and explore it further. Users come to this stage in several frames of mind, Joshua Porter posits there are three types: 1. Decided users (design need: fast sign up) 2. Unsure (design need: re-iterate value) and 3. Skeptical (design need: additional description, social proof, etc) The challenges of this phase are: a) Moving undecideds into decided and b) getting users all the way through a sign-in process. The examples below come from: * Geni [ https://www.quora.com/topic/Geni ] http://www.geni.com/home * About.me (company) [ https://www.quora.com/topic/About-me-company ] https://about.me/ * Square (company) [ https://www.quora.com/topic/Square-company ] https://squareup.com/ * Path (social network) [ https://www.quora.com/topic/Path-social-network ] http://www.path.com/ * DailyKos.com http://www.dailykos.com/ * Quora [ https://www.quora.com/topic/Quora ] http://www.quora.com/ * LinkedIn (product) [ https://www.quora.com/topic/LinkedIn-product-1 ] http://www.linkedin.com/ * SlideShare [ https://www.quora.com/topic/SlideShare ] http://www.slideshare.net/ Engagement: First Run Context: user has just completed sign up and we need to help them get started using the site. Note When the Lazy Registration pattern is used, First Run happens before users sign up. The First Run design challenge is to a) orient new users b) provide as much immediate value as possible c) help users discover useful new functionality. Examples come from: * UX Show and Tell http://uxshowandtell.com/ * Flickr (product) [ https://www.quora.com/topic/Flickr-product ] http://www.flickr.com/ More First Run Engagement articles: * What was the step that Twitter added to its new user flow that caused a %3E20% increase in conversion? [ https://www.quora.com/What-was-the-step-that-Twitter-added-to-its-new-user-flow-that-caused-a-20-increase-in-conversion ] Engagement - Deepening Engagement The context here is that the user is using the product. The design challenge is to get a) more frequent and deeper use of service. b) help users discover full feature set c) engage ongoing interest and d) support users in using and learning product. Increased retention and increased sharing are often outcomes of deepening engagement. Examples come from: * The New York Times [ https://www.quora.com/topic/The-New-York-Times ] nytimes.com/ * Geni [ https://www.quora.com/topic/Geni ] http://www.geni.com/home * Foursquare [ https://www.quora.com/topic/Foursquare ] http://foursquare.com/ Reference Sharing Design Below is a generalized Sharing Use Flow diagram, this follows the following steps: 1. The Ask 2. Select share method 3. Choose who to share with 4. The Invitation 5. Invite Landing Page - First Run (not shown) 6. Sign Up (not shown)

What should I know about self-publishing a non-fiction book online?
TEN REASONS WHY I SELF-PUBLISHMy days as a writer had ended.I had a bad experience with publishing a book in 2010. In 2009 I published a book that had sold almost nothing. My publisher hated me. My agent didn't want to work with me. I lost interest in writing the kind of books they wanted me to write.I felt like the only thing I ever wanted to do was now done. Finished. Forever.I had been writing almost every day since 1990. I cried. Then I discovered self-publishing.At first I thought, "Is this like vanity publishing?" Where the only way I can publish is to pay?Not at all. It was free to write a book, upload it to Amazon, and have it available for both print and digital. Then I thought, "Is there a stigma?" Will people make fun of me?But I realized: for 100% of the books on my bookshelf, I had no idea who the publisher of that book was.If I did a professional job, got a good cover, edited carefully, and wrote a good book, nobody would suddenly ask, "Well . . . who was the publisher?".And then for the many reasons I list below, I realized my books would be MUCH MORE successful if I self-publish.Self-publishing saved my life, both creatively and professionally. One of my self-published books, "Choose Yourself" is in about 20 countries and has sold over a million copies. Altogether, my self-published books have sold about 2,000,000 copies. Two of my self-published books, "Reinvent Yourself" and "The Choose Yourself Guide to Wealth", hit #1 in the entire Amazon store. Beating every fiction book (even "50 Shades of Grey") and every non-fiction book.I couldn't believe it. A self-published book written by me was #1 in the entire world. I never expected that to happen.I've gotten so many opportunities because of all of these books. And most of all, I got to write whatever I wanted. Nobody could say "No" to me. I honestly hate when people say "No" to me.I want to create my opportunities. Not be dependent on the whims of people I don't know or don't trust.I'm so grateful that now I can share the reasons of why I self-publish and to help others do the same.We don't live in a world of scarcity. We live in a world of abundance. I want everyone to feel creative satisfaction. There's no excuse not to.So write a book, take advantage of all the opportunities, and then pay it forward by helping others.Society was built on the back of the stories we tell. So tell yours.-----TEN REASONS WHY I SELF-PUBLISH.IT'S EASIER."Easier" doesn't mean "lower quality".Here's the problem with traditional publishing. Most of your time is not focused on the writing but the business of publishing. You have to pitch an idea to an agent, who pitches to an assistant editor, who pitches to an editor, who pitches to a marketing department, who pitches to a publisher. Then you have to deal with their marketing demands. And you have to wait a year before your book is published because it has to fit on the schedule they send to bookstores. Most bookstores won't even stock your book anyway. They get 2,000,000 possibilities a year and pick 2,000 new books to carry. And even if you are in the bookstore, if your publisher is not 200% behind your book, nobody will see it.Do you know when you see a book facing forward on the shelf, the publisher PAID for that position?Do you know when you see the "Staff Recommendations" shelf, the publisher PAID for that position.Do you when you see the books on the "New Releases" table, the publisher PAID for that position.A simple example: if you go to an airport before your flight and see a book, the publisher paid, minimum (depending on location), $20,000 per month for that book to be there. With self-publishing you can focus on the writing. Write a good book. The best book you can. And publish it.I feel so much joy and creativity now that I am much more in control of the entire process.----MORE MONEYTrue, you won't get an advance. But the average advance is going down anyway. 99% of writers get less than a $10,000 advance for their books. And that advance is spread out over years. You get it in several chunks: 1) When you start the book. 2) When you submit it. 3) When the publisher finishes editing it. 4) Publication date. And then the typical deal with a publisher is they give you 15% of the "wholesale price" - a purely fictional number that is much less than the price you see in the bookstores.I know people who have sold millions of copies of their books. They are still unable to make a living writing books. With self-publishing, you get 100% of your revenues. And you are also in control of the international rights, which you can do on your own or work out a deal with an international rights agent. You also have TOTAL control over other types of deals you can do with your books. I am limited on the deals I can do with my traditionally published books. But I have made much more money carving out special deals for my self-published books.More on this in a bit.Fact: I have made 10x the money on my 13 self-published books as I made on my six traditionally published books. Then there are the people who self-publish more than one book A MONTH. These people make an enormous amount of money by writing. How can someone write more than one book a month? When you are making the money they are, you'll do it. This is a more complicated topic but it's doable. With traditional publishing, they can't even publish more than one book a year for you One person I know publishes up to five books a month and is making millions a year.Anything is possible.---MORE SALESBookstores are disappearing.65% of new book sales (both print books and ebooks) are bought on Amazon. And this number is increasing each year while bookstores are going out of business.Listen to me, I like real print books. I like holding a book. I like turning the pages. I like the smell of a page. This is not ebooks vs physical books. This is Amazon versus bookstores.Just like it was once Barnes & Noble versus independents. If anything, this is a good sign for independents. Barnes & Noble needs mass book sales but people go to indie bookstores because they love the curation.A traditional publisher prides themselves on two things: they can give you an advance (which is going down every year) and they can get you in bookstores (which are disappearing). And for that they take 85% of your sales. But you don't need them and never will again. So why does this lead to more sales? For one thing, I can make a decision every day how I want to price my book. Some days I want to publish a book for $3.99 (a price I would never do be able to do with a traditional publisher because they would lose money on that and my royalty would be too small)Some days I will be able to offer a discount to bump up sales by going from $3.99 to 99 cents. And because I can control the marketing more easily (see below), I can boost sales more easily than a traditional publisher, which will NEVER do the types of sophisticated marketing an individual can do. Nor can they make decisions quickly.---CONTROL OF MARKETINGHere's the type of deal I might do on my self-published books:Contact a person with a huge email list. Write a special "new chapter" for the book that is only offered to members of that list. Up the price of the book with that new chapter added just for that person's audience. Then split 50-50 the revenues generated.A publisher will NEVER do this.I do this all of the time. This is part of the reason I've been able to sell over a million copies of "Choose Yourself'.I can also do this:When my next book comes out, I can offer, for free, a PDF of an older self-published book if they buy the next book. This bumps sales of the next book, this also helps me build an email list of people interested in my books (no publisher thinks of this), and helps me generate more interest in my older books. There's about ten to twenty deals like this I've done in the past five years.----EASIER TO WRITEThis is very interesting to me. Self-published books are actually easier to write. How come? I don't have to spend time thinking about the other seven layers of the publishing industryBut more importantly, the format of books has been defined for the past 100 years by the needs of bookstores. Bookstores will require publishers to only send book written with that format. The traditional format: 70,000 words. Fit a very specific genre so they know where to put it on the shelf. When of my friends six years ago self-published a book that was only 8,000 words long.It now has 3,000 reviews and is still every month generating enough income to pay his rent.A traditional publisher contacted him AFTER it was a success and said, "hey, can we publish this now?"They said to him, "We need you to expand it, though. Can you make it at least 60,000 words."He politely declined.I find that most published books are like short magazine articles that are then padded with another 60,000 words to fit the traditional format. This makes them poorly written and boring. With self-publishing, you control your format, write your book, and then start on the next one.---MORE REASONS TO WRITETraditional publishers have only one reason they will publish your book: To make a lot of money. Not a bad reason, although they are strikingly bad at it in today's environment.70 years ago I feel there were other reasons traditional publishers might want to publish your book. Maybe they wanted to help nurture your career over time so that eventually they build a nice backlist of your books that sell consistently. But this is no longer the case. Publisher loyalty to their authors is usually zero. If your book doesn't sell well in the first two weeks it is out there is a decent chance your editor will never return your calls again. But there are many reasons to write a book.a. A legacy for your descendants. I would love if I could read a book written by my great-great-great grandfather describing what his life was like. What's the audience for that book? Just his descendants. But that's a decent reason. b. About something you are passionate about. c. Often people write a book to get speaking or consulting opportunities that are very lucrative. If a company is trying to decide between consultant A and consultant B then they will pick the person who has written a book. I know this to be true. d. Practice. Many people write several books before they manage to produce their big bestseller that changes their lives completely. Book writing is a craft and, like any craft, takes time to build the skillset. e. You aren't limited by genre. You can write a book that YOU want to write as opposed to fitting a specific marketplace. f. To complement your business. A friend of mine makes a special kind of makeup and moisturizer catered to women going through menopause. So she wrote a small book about menopause that explains in detail the chemical and hormonal reactions in the body and how certain chemicals can help. This complements her product sales.---GUESS WHO ELSE SELF-PUBLISHES?Andy Weir (see my podcast with him) wrote "The Martian". But first he self-published it. No publisher would take it.Then Random House picked it up after movie rights were sold and it became a bestselling book and then a movie starring Matt Damon.Hugh Howey self-published eight or nine books before selling "Wool, Part One". He didn't expect that book to do well. Why didn't he expect it to do well? Because nobody knows in advance what will do well. But he got so much reaction, he decided to write "Wool, Part II", then Part III, then part IV".Finally he self-published the combination: "Wool".Guess what? Wool, and Parts 1 - IV, because the top five sellers in the Amazon science fiction section. He was making a ton of money and selling millions of books. Then people started buying his first eight or nine books that were self-published. I bought them all, for instance, after I read Wool. They were great. Then a major publisher picked it up and started selling it in bookstores but by then he was writing his next series, Dust.EL James self-published, "50 Shades of Grey". Most people don't realize this. She has built a following on Twilight fan fiction websites. So she wrote a book of fan fiction, changed the character's names (and switched vampires to billionaires) and self-published.After it sold 250,000 copies, Simon & Schuster signNowed out and bought the rights to her book.At one point, her self-published book was selling one out of every three book sold in the world. Ultimately the series has sold over 150,000,000 books.---NO GATEKEEPERS. NO EXCUSES.When I write a book, I want people to read it. If it's bad, fine. Nobody will read it. If it's good, then great. A lot of people will read it.But as I mentioned before, it's impossible to tell in advance. 29 publishers rejected "Harry Potter" before a small publisher picked it up.Every publisher rejected John Grisham's first book, until his second book, "The Firm" became a bestseller and he was able to publish his second book, "A Time to Kill".Nobody knows. Which means the role of the gatekeeper is nonsense. And yet if you pour your life into writing a book, you have to handle the word "No" from agents, editors, marketing people, publishers, bookstores, etc.So frustrating! I hate it. Honestly, I feel it in my gut when I need validation from someone I know is not qualified to give me validation. And I say "not qualified" not in a negative way. NOBODY is qualified to judge your book. Only the audience. But, in traditional publishing, you have to get past these artificial gatekeepers to signNow your audience. In self-publishing, you just publish. AND THEN you can create a built in audience by building up an email list, etc.---MORE OPPORTUNITIES.As I mentioned above: with a self-published book, even with a limited audience, you can get speaking opportunities, consulting opportunities, coaching opportunities, etc"Choose Yourself Media" which is now publishing a course on How to Self-Publish started because many people read "Choose Yourself" and wanted to know more about the different ways they can build lives of freedom and well-being.---YOU BECOME A BETTER WRITERThe more you write, the better a writer you become.90% of being a traditionally published writer is dealing the ins and outs of the publishing business.I'd rather focus on writing. Living my dream life-----P.S. PARTY INVITE:The 5th Anniversary of Publishing "Choose Yourself" PARTY.August 16. Come to Standup NY (the comedy club I am part owner of), on 78th and Broadway in NYC.I think this is what the schedule will be that evening:530 to 630 live podcast630 to 700 q and a700 to 730 dinner/networking break730 to 930 comedy show! How are the first 24 hours after seeing your name in the final Civil services exam merit list? How does life change?
31st May 2017 - Date of UPSC CSE 2016 Final result. My first UPSC CSE attempt I was in my room at my home (as i prepared from home since 2 years) . My family members and cousins (around 10) were in the room too….i knew that results would be out today so I was glued to the phone screen, refreshing FORUMIAS and UPSC website every minute. Finally, the results came at around 7 pm and I didnt find my name in the list.Time stopped by.I cant forget that utter silence in the room for 1 minute…….I felt speechless and bit blank.Everyone pacified me that you are only 22 and it was just your first attempt…..dont get sad… But I just gathered my everything next morning as 2017 prelims was just 17 days away. That “fire in belly” grew even more after failure……I said to myself “ I will prove myself now in my style, come what may “. Well,I cleared prelims easily and eventually mains too.Gave interview on 22 March 2018.Final results were to be out on 27 April 2018. 27 April 2018 - Date of CSE 2017 Final Result Well, this time I said to my elder brother that lets go to UPSC building this time and lets see the result in “old school “ style - on UPSC notice board. We signNowed there at 2.30 pm.Well,my telegram, forumias fellow aspirants were anxious about happenings at UPSC and when would the result be declared eventually . So,I updated them continuously about live happenings there on the notice board… Pic - The notice board, where result was eventually put up Then at around 7 pm,result sheets were pasted on the notice board and everyone (around 40) struggled and jostled to find their name in those result sheets. It was chaos. I just stepped aside and asked my brother to see the result.I just closed my eyes and calmed myself. He checked all 20 result sheets in around 5 mins and sadly said “ Naam na h bhai” i.e “ your name is not there” I felt dejected, shocked as I was so confident of making it.But I trusted him,so I didnt recheck the result sheets. We were about to leave for our home after I congratulated one of my friends who cleared and was present there with me. Then I saw my phone. There was a message from a girl on telegram “ Hey federer (my telegram name) ,are you the rank 42 ?” I just jumped to UPSC notice board and checked the result sheet…… It read 42. 0245089 Sudhir Kumar I went to my brother nd gave him an euphoric punch in the chest….and exclaimed “ I am rank 42”….he became overwhelmed and hugged me and almost cried.Everyone there congratulated me…..I called home and told them about it . They were “out of world” happy and excited. My phone started ringing and atleast 500 people congratulated me on phone via call and texts in next 24 hours We came home at around 9 in evening . It was full of relatives…..Everyone was ecstatic and proud . My mom had been with me in these 3 years each second and I owe it to her.She was emotional,I hugged her tight. She gave me a winning smile. But I needed to express my emotions so I said to everyone that please leave me alone for 1 hour in my room…..I went inside…..I screamed ,cried, laughed, sat in bliss, and thought of my hard work days, struggle of my parents and everything seemed worth it after the success…… That feeling of getting fruit for your hard work is best, surreal and undefinable. Next morning,my house was full of neighbours, relatives, friends, classmates, newspaper and newschannel reporters…..everyone wanted “time” with me….. Spent 24 hours attending phone calls, messages, relatives, mediapersons, and all.Bureaucrats (SDM,DM,SP) of the area, politicians too congratulated me. With DC and SP of my district on very next day. My parents were happiest .That feeling is best in world. I felt ultimate relief , satisfaction , happiness and looked forward to my esteemed and eventful career in civil services.I thanked everyone mentally who had been with me. Life changes in many ways on the outside. You get attention everywhere, everyone wants your time,be associated with you, make connections with you, offers of good marriage matches for you(including ministers’ daughters) , family members finally accepts you as “ totally mature “ person…hehe….And if you are from tier 2,3 town or village, then all people identify you too in public places. But inside, one must be the same.Enjoying small gifts of life.Being as one was before success.

What step-by-step process should I follow to file a Canadian PR application without any external help from a consultant?
Let me start this answer by saying ‘External Consultant is not at all required to apply for Canada PR under Express Entry (Federal Skilled Workers Programme or Provincial Nominee Programme)’.Following are the steps to apply for Canada PR via Express Entry Programme. Steps for PNP are not included below.Step 1:Identify whether you are eligible for Canada PR or not. This can be checked via a free Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Tool available on the official website of the Canada Immigration website. Here is the link - Eligibility to apply as a Federal Skilled Worker (Express Entry)Step 2:Once you find yourself eligible for Express Entry Programme, check your comprehensive score (CRS) at the following linkComprehensive Ranking System (CRS) tool: skilled immigrants (Express Entry)Minimum CLB 7 is required to be eligible for Canada PR. i.e for IELTS, 6 in each module and for CELPIP, 7 in each module is required. However, make sure to put 8777 (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking) score while checking your CRS. If you are selecting CELPIP, put 9 each. I will explain the reason to this in the answer later. If your score is 440 or above, assuming that you have entered authentic information in the CRS free tool, you have high chances to immigrate to Canada under Express Entry Programme.Step 3:You need to get your credential documents assessed by an authorised and listed organisation. Following is the list of those organisations. Identify which one suits you the best. WES is highly recommended.Comparative Education Service HomepageICASEvaluations for Immigration (ECA) - World Education ServicesIQAS assessment for immigration purposesInternational Credential Evaluation Service (ICES)Before you decide to take up IELTS/CELPIP/TEF, kindly initiate the process for Education Credential Assessment (ECA) as collecting documents for this process is time-consuming. You will need transcripts for all degree certificates from your universities. If your spouse possesses an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, it is advisable to get his/her credentials assessed. This will give you additional points in CRS and will increase your chances of getting an invite (ITA) for permanent residency.Step 4:Appear for any linguistic skills such as IELTS, CELPIP or TEF.Step 5:Once you have your linguistic test results and ECA result, create an Express Entry Profile. Keep your degree certificates and transcripts handy while creating your EE Profile as exact start and end date of the course will be required.Below is the link where you can initiate creating your EE Profile.Create an account or sign inGo to the bottom of the page where you will see ‘Continue to GCKey’. Select this option and ‘Sign Up’ with the required information. There is no cost involved to create an EE Profile.Note that without Linguistic Test Results and Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) results, Express Entry Profile cannot be created.Step 6:Once you have created and submitted your Express Entry Profile with a score of 440 or above, kindly initiate arranging required documents for the invite. Arranging certain documents will be cumbersome and time-consuming, hence it is advisable (highly recommended) to arrange the majority of them prior to receiving ITA.Following is the list of documents required;Passport/Travel DocumentLanguage Test ResultsECA ResultProvincial Nomination (If you have one)Reference Letters for current and past employmentPolice Clearance Certificate/s (for all those countries where you have stayed more than 6 months)Proof of Funds/Proof of Means of Financial SupportMarriage CertificateBirth Certificate of ChildEducational Documents (Diplomas/Degrees)Photographs (Digital)Legal Name Change/Difference Affidavit (If the name differs in documents)Medical Exam Proof (It is advisable to go for medicals after you receive the invite)Translation of Documents (if the document is in a language other than English)Translator’s Affidavit (Only if #14 mentioned above is applicable)For all the above-listed documents, the requirements are clearly mentioned on the following link;Applications for permanent residence programs subject to the Express Entry completeness checkStep 7:Scan all the above documents at a proper resolution (legible) to a laptop or desktop. Make sure the format of all documents is PDF with size less than 4MB.Digital photographs (35mm x 45mm) should be of JPEG/JPG format with an ideal size of 240 KB, but not less than 60 KB.Step 8:Once you receive the ITA, login to your Express Entry Profile and Accept the invitation. Upon acceptance, you will be able to see different tabs, where you have to provide detailed information of all applicants (including spouse and minor).Fill out all the forms with accuracy and authentic information. Make sure, you do not change any detail in the application which was provided earlier in Express Entry Profile. If required, take expert advice.Step 9:Get your medical examination done from a Panel Physician only. Check the below link about the list of Panel Physicians.Panel PhysiciansCall the hospital and take the appoint for medical examination. Medical of spouse and child/children is also required. Ask the hospital about documents required for medicals. You will have received a PDF in your EE Profile mailbox upon receiving the invite, which is a confirmation of your ITA. Take that print along with 3 passport copies (each applicant) to the hospital. You should also have a credit card/debit card handy in case if you wish to pay by card. The hospital will provide you with a ‘Medical Information Sheet’ for each applicant, which is required to be uploaded in the PR application. Do not forget to ask the hospital about this, as it is a mandatory document. The hospital may provide you with test results copy - upload that too. The hospital might not provide you documents to you on the same day of examination. They will mail you in 2–3 days.Step 10:Start filling out the forms of the PR application. Once you fill out all the forms, click ‘Next’. this will take you to a page where you will find tabs to upload documents for each applicant in your profile. If you have multiple documents (e.g.: Reference Letters from different companies), merge them in a single PDF and upload. If required, create a ‘Table of Contents’ at the first page and include ‘Page Separators’. This is highly recommended, as you would not want to confuse the Case Officer.Upload all your documents in corresponding tabs. Check multiple times whether you have uploaded the right document or not. Furnishing incorrect document may result in delay or sometimes rejection. You will get an additional tab for uploading the ‘Letter of Explanation’. This is a letter where you can clarify about any document if required. For instance, if there is a gap in your employment, explain it in this letter with justification. Keep this letter very short and use concise language.Step 11:Once you have uploaded all the documents, press the ‘Continue’ button, where you will be guided to the Fees Payment Page. Agree to the terms and conditions and click ‘Transmit and Pay’. Enter your credit or debit card details and that’s it - Your application is submitted.Following are the fees to be paid to transmit your application;Permanent Resident Application Fees - 550 CAD (for each adult in the application)Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) - 490 CAD (for each adult in the application)Permanent Resident Application Fees for Child - 150 CAD (per child)Step 12:Sit back and relax. Do not think much about ‘When I will receive the PR?’ It may take 1 month or may take 6 months for receiving PR depending upon the case. However, login to your EE profile frequently to know at what stage are you in.There are certain stages involved after submitting the application and paying the fees, such as ;eAOR - electronic Acknowledgement of ReceiptMEP - Medicals PassedBG IP(1) - Background Check in Progress for the first timeBG NA - Background Check Not ApplicableBG IP(2) - Background Check in Progress for the second timePPR - Passport Request email - Ready for VisaOnce the PPR e-mail is received, you will be requested to send the passport to the nearest VFS. The passport will be stamped and a COPR letter will be provided confirming that you are a Permanent Resident of Canada.Voila! You are ready to fly to your dream country.Elaborated Step 2 :CLB 7 is required to be eligible for Express Entry; however, CLB 7 does not give you enough points to qualify for the invitation. For CRS 440 and above, one needs to have at least CLB 9, i.e. 8777 (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking) in IELTS General Training or 9 each in CELPIP-G. This will boost the CRS by 50 to 60 points.Important Note:I personally followed all the above steps to apply for Canada PR via Express Entry Programme (FSW) and did not contact any consultant. Majority of the consultants will charge hefty fees for this process and on top of it, they may commit a mistake while filing your application on your behalf. I strongly encourage you to apply by yourself. If your case is complicated and you need expert advice, contact only ICCRC or CRCIC approved consultants. You can find them over here https://iccrc-crcic.ca/If you want to increase your chances of getting ITA early, get CLB 9 or above in IELTS or above 9 each in CELPIP-G. This is the key to your high CRS. Higher the CRS, better the chances to be invited early. The second best option is PNP, which will give you 600 additional points.I wish you all the best for Canada PR Application.-Gaurang

What are the main agreements co founders need to sign to establish a professional framework for a start-up?
It is essential to set all obligations from the start. If your partner is to become a shareholder, you should definitely consider having a Shareholders’ Agreement drafted. Before getting lawyers involved however, it will be beneficial just to discuss your expectations between the two of you. Ask your partner what is really important to him? * Is the title of co-founder important? * Is being a share owner important? * Is simply working in a startup important to him/her? * Is having a particular role most important? * Is the most important to create a great business? You should also answer these questions. These sort of questions will help you both get the best deal, but also understand one another and what you are most looking to get out of the venture. Once you’ve discussed this, you can bring a bullet-point arrangement to your lawyer that will be a great base for drafting the actual contract. A good shareholders’ agreement generally covers the following: * Shareholder names * Shareholder respective equity holdings * Class of shares * Share vesting (if any) * Rights and obligations of the shareholders * Voting rights * Drag along and tag along * Dividends I hope this helps. If you’d have more questions or would like assistance in getting this drafted, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me [ mailto:alexandra@linkilaw.com ] or Linkilaw directly [ http://www.linkilaw.com/get-quotes-now ].
