How do I draw 3D sketches?
How can I draw a 3D picture? I am not a professional artist, just speaking from experience.3D drawing is really interesting as you have to imagine what the drawing would look like from a particular perspective and you create an illusion. So here's a simple example:If we draw a circle on a paper it will as obvious look like a circle from the top. But it would look like a compressed egg-shape if we look from some angle. So we draw a stretched egg-shape such that it looks like a circle when viewed from a particular perspective. This is what it would look like from the top. Add proper colors, shades and shadow. Cut out th...

How is it that figures, which are only abstract signs, drawings, if I can extrapolate my words, can make it possible to obtain s
Would you rather have a way (round metal with symbols stamped on them or, even worse, paper with printed numbers and pictures) to pay for your lunch or pay by doing labor at the food-seller’s establishment? How will you pay for a place to live, electrical power, water, and so on?Do you see that figures are not so “abstract” after all?Would you like to carry around a bag with 100 apples to illustrate how many apples you wish to sell? Lead around 10 head of cattle? The numbers are not just abstract signs. They represent the idea of “how many” so that you and the person to whom you speak will both agree on “how many” in the same way that words represent an understanding of sizes (do you want to carry a pocket-full of sand to demonstrate “small” and a couple of elephants for “large?”).

How do you keep a regular drawing habit? What do you draw every day and how do you do it?
How do you keep a regular drawing habit? This is a tough one, even for most pros. Often our drawing time, is in the fact, what we do this for a living. We're "forced" to do it. Which inevitably makes drawing into "work" not pleasure. Most pros end up doing something other than drawing to unwind. That said, how do we get past that?First, either buy or make a sketchbook, then...Schedule it. Schedule 15 Minutes a day to draw. That's all, just 15 minutes. At lunch, at night, before you go to work...etc. Make the time. If you have time to play a video game, watch TV, surf the web, read...you sure as heck have the time to draw for 15 minutes. I know a friend here at work that takes his sketchbook to the bathroom. It's sounds gross but it's good "multi-tasking." Time well spent. It's only 15 minutes.Sometimes you'll find those 15 minutes will turn into more, but sometimes not. At least you've got your time in.You also use Lift to help you to move forward with your habit. How do you get past the "beginner's hump?" Pick easy wins. 15 minutes a day is doable. What do you draw everyday and how do you do it?What is in front you? Your breakfast Your lunch The salt and pepper shakers Trees People A building RocksEverything you see, you can draw. What good will this do? It will help you to "see." It will help you pay attention to what things look like rather than what you THINK things look like. It teaches you to draw everything. Pay attention to the "negative space" around objects, rather than just the objects themselves. It gives you clues about how accurate your drawings are. Draw from the inside out, don't just draw the contour of a thing. Simplify first, don't get caught up in detail. Detail is only there to reinforce perspective, volume and sometimes the character of a person or thing.Don't want to do that?Copy Copy and art book with your favorite artist's work. Copy the anatomy drawings from a Bridgman book. Copy the art off a "how to draw book". Copy a comic book or comic strip. What good will this do? It gives you ready made solutions to drawing problems you might encounter. Everything else I wrote about drawing what you see applies to this too. It will help you to "see," etc.Don't want to do that?Practice the Basics Draw lines Draw shapes Draw formsThe top two links above are links to my site. More on that later. What good will this do? Improves your basic drawing foundations and drawing "vocabulary." All drawings are made from these three things. You can never go wrong with practicing them.Don't want to do that?Turn on the TV Pause a movie and draw the scene on the screen. Draw the people in the scene (do it in stick figures to make it funny). Pause an animated movie and copy the characters. What good will this do? It improves your observation skills. It helps you to draw people or characters that DON'T move. You have instant models. It makes you aware of things like composition and perspective. Shapes and lighting.Don't want to do that?Challenge Yourself Join an artist group that gives you a "word of the day" to draw. Download a random phrase App and draw the phrase that pops up like WordDot. Get some Rory's Story Cubes and draw what comes to mind by the results. Roll up a Superhero using the ICONS table top Role-Playing game with friends, and have everyone draw it to see what you all come up with. You can also do this by yourself for fun. What good will this do? Drawing from your imagination is critical for increasing you confidence. It's also fun. Make yourself laugh. Make sure to draw from the inside out. Make sure to keep the guidelines of good design in mind.Don't want to do that?Art Class Take a figure drawing class. Take painting workshops Download some classesWhat good will this do? If you take figure drawing and can get good at drawing the figure, you can draw anything. It's the number one thing you should if you truly want to get good at drawing. All the benefits from the above exercises you will get in a figure drawing class. Especially, if you have good teacher. Other types of classes give you assignments. They force you to draw whether you want to or not.Don't want to do that? Then FIND something you DO want to draw. Because if you can't, then drawing isn't your thing. How do you get past the "beginner's hump?"Pick easy wins. Drawing shapes lines and simple cartoons is doable. Once you get to point where you can do that, you can move on to more challenging things. As for ComicsYes, I'm a comics fan. I also drew Simpsons comics for 12 years on the side. I've done a few comics for fun (Art, Stories & Comics by me) and I'm working on another one now. If you want to do comics, draw EVERYTHING. Re-read the "Draw what's in front of you" suggestion again. In comics, you have to do it all. No short cuts. I hope that helps. This is the kind of information I tend to write about in my newsletter at: Page on TheDrawingWebsite. I encourage you to sign up if you like what I wrote here.

Which place has the longest name?
There is a Welsh town whose normal name is Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, from the Welsh for “Church of St. Mary in the Valley of the Township of White Hazel”. (It’s worth keeping in mind that in Welsh, “w” and “y” are vowels, so the language isn’t quite as consonant-heavy as its written words, such as Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, might first make it seem.)In the 1860s, the railway system was the main method of transportation in Britain. The local government decided that the best way to draw attention to the town would be to tack on a few extra letters and turn the already-fairly-long Llanfairpwllgwyngyll into the monstrous, 58-character moniker it now carries:Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, that is. Its new definition, as listed on the sign, is “St. Mary’s Church in the Hollow of the White Hazel Near to the Rapid Whirlpool of Llantysilio of the Red Cave”.Not that anyone actually calls it that, but hey, it’s something. If you have nothing better to do with your time, you might want to learn how to pronounce the entire thing. There are a number of routes you can take; if you can read IPA, then you can do what I did and stare at the narrow transcription ([ˌɬanvairpʊɬˌɡwɨ̞ŋɡɨ̞ɬɡɔˌɡɛrəˌχwərnˌdrɔbʊɬˌɬantəˌsɪljɔˌɡɔɡɔˈɡoːχ]) for half an hour and struggle with Welsh phonology while passerby give you funny looks.Alternatively, you can listen to the pronunciation here. There is also a song dedicated to this purpose.Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch holds the record for the longest name for a specific settlement. In terms of place names of any sort, though, it’s outdone by a hill on New Zealand’s North Island that is called Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu. From Wikipedia. The word is Maori for “The summit where Tamatea, the man with the big knees, the slider, climber of mountains, the land-swallower who travelled about, played his nose flute to his loved one.”

What are some small, random things that annoy you to no end?
Okay, here we go.Gulp sounds - I cannot stand when somebody makes that sound while eating or drinking with me. While I understand it’s natural and I may or may not do that as well at times but some how I don’t like it. Period.Hand shake freaks - I am with a group of people, whether it’s office or neighborhood. And somebody comes/joins in and says Salam/Hello to the group…. and then starts shaking hands with everyone present. Taking the trouble of signNowing in front of every body to offer a hand shake. You do not have to shake hands when you have said hello to the group (unless you’re Barack Obama… always looked awesome doing that).Remember me? - A person meets me and says “remember me?”… “oh you don’t remember me”? We were together in school, or met here or there, did this or that blah blah. With a sick grin on their face like, we are playing some stupid guess game. And they have an upper hand on me since they recognize me by name and I don’t. Of course I’d remember some random familiar faces but not our history. If you were signNow enough for me, I’d already have remembered you. So… yea!Same goes for any phone calls when a caller expects me to recognize their voice and tell who they are, like I am dying to be thrilled in such lame way. Curse me for I find this insanely irritating.I will give them a good twenty seconds to introduce or I am hanging.Facebook pundits - They will share something related to society or religion with a heads up “The devil will stop you from sharing this”. I see. So If I don’t share it, means I am acting on devil’s command. That’s some hardcore revelation right there.Sneak peekers - I am in my office, calm and relaxed after firing up my laptop and browsing. Minding my own business. Some colleague will come inside my room, Sits and then peeks into my laptop screen to check what I am up to. While they wouldn’t understand Sh*t….. They will look at my face to see if I really have lost my mind since I am not watching some movie, listening to a song or checking out Facebook. And then to practically roast me on the grill, rarely somebody will say “The hell is this, man? Play some movie/song”.That’s it. I will politely ask them to get the eff out of my office.I could think of many more but this should do it, I guess. :)

What is the weirdest thing you have seen a child draw?
One afternoon, I was having coffee with my very dear and loved friend Mary. Her beloved grand-daughter had just passed at the age of 8 years from leukemia. Although she was so young, this lovely little girl had many friends throughout the community. At her funeral there were approximately 900 — or possibly more people — who came to mourn and pay their respects to her. She was truly special. I shall never forget her.On the little kitchen table where we were having our coffee a few days after her service, lay a pile of several of her drawings that Mary saved after her grand-daughter left for the hospital for the last time. I picked up the drawings and began looking at them. All were very well done, dated and the subject matter was, up to a point, what a little girl would usually draw: her pets, flowers, and hearts. Except for four which caused me to actually jump out of my chair! I grabbed Mary's arm and told her to look at THESE four last drawings her little grand-daughter did.We saw where her little grand-daughter depicted herself meeting, playing with, talking to and going away by holding another little girl's hand — a very pink child with yellow curls and wearing a short gown with ribbons and what appeared to be a halo. This other little girl was also depicted as always aloft in all four drawings.Mary's little grand-daughter drew herself as a fully human child where the other little girl had no limbs or feet. Both were smiling yet expressively different in each drawing. We looked over the four drawings and saw we could arrange them as a story:her grand-daughter met the other little girl while gardening where the latter flew to her from the blue line atop the drawing — with a yellow ball — the sky and the sun — in the upper right corner of the paperthey talked and her little grand-daughter threw the other little girl a very pretty colored blue ball up from the garden — drawn as complete with flowers of many colors — her grand-daughter was somewhat aloft now while the other little girl hovered above the garden and Mary's grand-daughterafter they played ball we could see they were now talking together — on the same level being both equally aloft — about something and we saw their same facial expressions were now very happy*the final drawing showed them both now flying happily together up to the blue line and the yellow ball — the sky and sun in the upper right side of the paper. We both were silent for some time. I looked at the date of these four drawings — they were drawn less than a week before the little girl passed over. We both concluded that her grand-daughter drew what she had somehow experienced yet kept a special secret.*The third drawing clearly showed, due the joyous expressions on both little girl's faces, that something was going to take place. Their expressions were clear — this was a special secret. Also in the third drawing the other little girl's right hand index finger was across her lips. Both children were smiling.Mary had her grand-daughter's drawings specially framed and they are in her bedroom to this day. From time to time I go back to that afternoon in Mary's little kitchen and envision what this dear little girl experienced and recorded for her beloved grandmother to eventually find and for her to keep after this lovely little girl went away. Finding those drawings and bringing them out that afternoon was so sweet and comforting where we both know — to this day — she did not make her final journey alone. She had a spirit with her.I won't say they were weird but I can say they were enlightening.

What can we learn from the Mahabharata?
Lovely question thanks for asking :))and thanks for sharing AnshulThis answer is Co written by Anshul and also edited by him so want to thank him immensely Dhanyavad AnshulFirst comes my favourite character Karna1 : KarnaDeath was never end for him it was beginning, born before marriage sacrificed then fostered by poor suta family His talent was unleashed. He was rejected by drona for learning archery then he went to parshuram where he learnt archery but paid a huge price , he got curse that he will forget all his knowledge at the most crucial moment when he will need it the most.He tells us that "Unnecessary of what your origins are you still can achieve success you can fight fate and be glorious even after death"Life isn't fair, but you got to face it even through the hard times. He also taught no matter how many rejections and curses come your way don't stop living fight them challenge fate and be victorious.Never switch your sides. Always be loyal. Karn was always loyal to Radheya and Suyodhan (Duryodhan)Never judge anyone by their caste,he always believed that everyone must have right to do everything and should not be discriminated by their caste.Never ever give up in your life In present world if anyone of us have faced so many rejections and curses, insults, unfair life.We would have killed ourselves rather than living with curses and every damn one addressing you suta putra low caste.A friend in need is a friend indeedBe proud of who are you (Though karna was addressed by Suta putra each time by pandavas and others. Karna never felt embarrassed of his caste he was proud of his parents )Be rooted to our origins.Always respect your parents.(Though Karn was born to kunti but he earned his name Daanveer radheya due to his foster mother radha due to her teachings but after knowing that his real mother is kunti, his respect towards his foster mother radhe increased.Art of giving (In today's world we badly need this thing. )Karna always said :Suto va sutputro vayo vakova(be i son of suta or son of anyone)Bhavyaham daiv yettem kule janm (the birth is in hand of deties and destiny)Madhyettem tu pourusham pourusham(but in my hands lies my victory)Even Krishna gave him offer to be the eldest pandava and rule the whole kingdomKrishna : Do you know that you are the eldest Kunti Putra. You deserve to be the king of Hastinapura. Come, join us. All the Pandavas will welcome you. Draupadi will become your queen, why are you fighting with Duryodhana?Karna: “They are not my brothers. And I have no wish to become the king. Thank you for telling me that I am the eldest Kunti Putra, I have been searching this answer all my life.Krishna : Now that you know who you are, why don’t you join the camp of Dharma?Karna:With all due respect to you, who are you to define what is my dharma?. I am aware of my dharma and I am doing it every single day.Krishna :And what is your dharma, may I know?Karna:My Dharma is to protect my friend when he needs me the most.Krishna :Even at the cost of siding with a force which is doing Adharma towards hundreds of thousands of men? Do you know that your presence in the Kaurava camp ensures that Dharma has to fight harder for victory?Karna:The force has its own reasons, I have my own reasons. Where were you when Drona denied me to teach lessons because I do not belong to a royal family? Where was Dharma when I was not allowed to compete in the Swayamvar of Draupadi and I was insulted of being a person from lowerly caste? Where was dharma when I had to answer every single person how a suta putra became the king? Dharma or righteousness for that matter has never been my friend. I have only one friend and only one dharma. Its called Duryodhana.Dhoop Surya ka saath chor sakti hai, upaj dharti ka saath chor sakti hai, disha vaan ka saath chor sakti hai, kintu yeh soot putra karna Duryodhana ka sath nahi chor saktaKunti pleaded to karnaKunti approached Karna and appealed to him to not kill any Pandavas. Karna agreed and said that he will not kill any pandava expect arjun and will not use the same weapon/astra on arjun and we all now karna kept his promises.Keep your promises vows no matter what conditions are (Karn till death even after getting enormously greedy offers from pandavasf side never left Duryodhan alone he lived and died for Duryodhan what a friend alas !)Donating Kavach KundalaNow imagine your enemy's father comes as a sage before you and asks to donate your biggest strength the armour and you give it even when you are forewarned by your father sunthat's incredible those earrings and armour were from birth and imagine when we get a paper cut or small blade cut we be like aaaaahhhHe donated his organ like Kavach kundalaSaying no to any offers, I will achieve it by my own strength and merit !On day 11 of war the day Karna joins war he was offered chariot of Surya Now suryas chariot was so full of heat and light that one can get blind by seeing it war would be over in one day but Karn declined he said father I want to kill that arjun not by any body's aid but by my own handsWhile arjun have astras of Indra, durga Kavach and Shree Krishna as his charioteer and Arjun doesn't know that Karn is his kin so of course he will fight with him intensely and will want to kill him no matter howKarn here already has three curses on him without kavacha kundal and his charioteer was that irritating and rude uncle of Nakula sahadev that is shalya and on top of that Karn knows Arjun is his uterine brother no matter how intense rivalry between them is but can one with full mind kill their own blood .On day 17the day that is day of karna's death he is offered a proposition by Ashwasen a snake that arjun has killed my mother in fire of Khandavprastha he killed all the snakes . I hold the same enmity towards arjun kindly shoot me at arjuns head I will kill him with my venom but Karna declines saying that he will not take anyone's help but kill arjun with aid of his other snaky weaponsKarna Parva: Section 90Such a valiant warrior he was ,Though there are thousand of qualities Karn possess but I named few that one can followI feel you don't need to know 10 things from 10 different characters when you have those 10 qualities embedded in one characterकर्म =राधेकरण2: Shree KrishnaHe is everything and everything is him,the one who understands him attain true serenity and never faces defeatHe is one well orator ,master strategist ,how to win a lost war he can do it allAll of his feats are beautifully presented in Bhagvat gita the real essence of life is in gita .I am not sure if I can describe Shree Krishna and his mystics but he was the most scientific and lovable character still isSome of my favourite quotes from Gita:"karmany evadhikaras tema phalesu kadachanama karma-phala-hetur bhurma te sango ’stv akarmani""Sri Krishna said: You have a right to perform your prescribed duty, but you are not entitled to the fruits of action. Never consider yourself the cause of the results of your activities, and never be attached to not doing your duty."So it is doing our job / duty in a proper manner that gives true happiness in life. So let’s do our job / duty properly without much caring for, how much money it shall generate.2: There are three gates to the self destructive hell: Lust, anger and greed .This quote gives us aftermath of charactersGreed of Kingdom destroyed DuryodhanLust killed Kichak and Dushasan (Kichak is brother in law of Virat king Virat is father of uttara uttara is wife of abhimanyu)Anger caused end of Ghatotkacha and insult of draupadi was also due to her own anger destruction of Kauravas was due to Uncontrolled Anger. Anger also caused Ashwathama to be cursed3: The offering of Wisdom is better than any material offering:)4 : Mind acts like a enemy for those who cannot control it5: Calmness Gentleness Silence and self Restraint and purity are disciplines of MindNote: I wanted to post all the Karma yog but as krishna said self restraint is necessary therefore I stop here :) hey you can always read gita one shlok every day :)3: Devavrata (Bhishma)Indecisiveness in action can hide your truthfulness and pious natureHe was a great aura he had all qualities Calmness Self restraint Gentleness purity and silenceHe took the vow of celibacy and followed it to death and he was the first one to recite Vishnu SahastranamaBut as krishna said He is a fool who follows truth without knowing difference between falsehood and truthI am not saying that Bhishma is not intelligent indeed he was . He strongly opposed Duryodhan for draupadi's insult but he remained indecisive that indecisiveness cause wrong actionsNo matter how pious the person is, but had he took the right action at right time things would have been differentBhishma was born in uttara ashadha nakshatra people generally born in this nakshatra are truthful but obstinate with their vowsObstinacy and indecision caused his failureHe adored and supported the Pandavas, however served Duryodhana as a duty dictated by the principles of Dharma. He failed to achieve anything positive. This ineffectiveness of his life is well captured by a Hindi poet Dinkar when he writes,“Pyar pandavo par manse,Kauravo ki seva tanse,Sadh payega kaun?kam iss bikhari hui lagan se”4 : AshwathamaUncontrolled anger can give you a cursed lifeAshwathama was one of the most underrated intriguing characters of mahabharata He was a lovely Son,great archer and a dedicated friendBut He had his rudra aspect to him,When anger of Ashwathama was invoked it destroyed everything .He killed Sons of pandavas but wasn't it invoked when pandavas killed Dronacharya by taking his name that ashwathama was deadBut Ashwathama was a loyal friend but he couldn't control his anger and aimed brahmastra at uttaras womb which later caused a curse given by Krishna that he will be surrounded with never healing wounds and blood oozing out of his body Krishna also took his gem which gave him protection from weapons and ailmentsAnger should be constructive not Destructive5: Suyodhan(Duryodhan)Sometimes Anger can engulf youDuryodhan was the perfect Son yes he loved his parents muchThe perfect Husband he loved his wife Bhanumati a lovely husband indeedA beautiful friend he never expected swore allegiance of Karn before giving him Angadesh. She rejected Karn then laughed upon Duryodhan She was a brave lady but thus egoistic7: Barbareek (Grandson of bhima)Barbarik was the son of Ghatotkach. He was blessed with the 3 arrows which had the power of destroying whole enemies in a single moment. His guru took a promise from him that he always will fight from weaker side.Whichever side he supports will only make the other side weaker due to his power. Nobody will be able to defeat him. Hence, he will be forced to support the other side that has become weaker .Thus he will keep oscillating between two sides, thereby destroying the entire army of both sides and eventually only he would remain. Subsequently, none of the sides would victorious as he would be the lone survivor. Hence, Krishna avoids his participation in the war by seeking his head in Charity.Maurvi(Barbareek mother) was terror personified. She raved and ranted Krishna"If this was how you wanted it to end then why did you begin it?" she screamed.Barbareek consoled Maurvi, "Mother, there is a purpose in all this. We have been chosen to convey a very important message to mankind. If absolute power is concentrated in one hand it can only lead to the destruction of the world. Either I have to go or the world has to go and there is really no choice. I just hope my sacrifice will not go in vain." Source:WikiBarbareek sacrifice is greater than anything he sacrificed his head for pandavas victory. In Jaipur , he is worshipped as Khatu shyam ji and is believed to have been sacrificed before the Mahabharata war to ensure the victory of his grandfathers.8: HidimbaHidimbi was the first wife of Bhima though abandoned. She aided pandavas and sacrificed her son Ghatotkacha and grandson Barbareek in war.Though a rakshasi but better than Devis whatever your habit is if on righteousness you shall attain your position now.She is goddess of manali due to her deeds and sacrifice.9: ViduraVidura was the half-brother of the dhrisrashtra and panduHe was skilled, intelligent and had no greed of Kingdom and said to be harsh spoken but always said truthVidura on the importance of controlling one’s speechTo control speech, O king, is said to be most difficult. It is not easy to hold a long conversation uttering words full of meaning and delightful to hearers. Well-spoken speech is productive of many beneficial results; and ill-spoken speech, O king, is the cause of evils. A forest pierced by arrows, or cut down by hatchets may again grow, but one’s heart wounded and censured by ill-spoken words never recovereth. Weapons, such as arrows, bullets, and bearded darts, can be easily extracted from the body, but a wordy dagger plunged deep into the heart is incapable of being taken out. Wordy arrows are shot from the mouth; smitten by them one grieveth day or night. A learned man should not discharge such arrows, for they do not touch the very vitals of others.(Mahabharata Udyoga Parva, Section 34)Vidura on KindnessAblution in all the holy places and kindness to all creatures – these two are equal. Perhaps, kindness to all creatures surpasseth the former.(Mahabharata Udyoga Parva, Section 35)Philosopher Jagadguru Rambhadracharya had composed poems on vidura and his wife sulabha named Kaka vidura10: Shikandhini (Amba)Revenge is best served cold. She waited for 2 lifetimes for taking revenge on Bhishma finally she did in a new avatar no matter what form you take but don't forget your revenge.11:ArjunaHe was a good listener ,he asked right questions, had great concentrationNo matter how just win forget everything else Never abandon your other wives and children don't destroy your personal life for professionalismSingle-minded focus can help us to achieve our goals.
