hey guys hopefully everybody's having a good day i just wanted to let you know that i did a community post last night again i don't know who all gets the community posts if you get them let me know hopefully everybody's getting them um but i was listening to a prophetic kind of update on olive tree ministries many of you familiar with jan markell and she had pastor tom hughes out of california on his uh on on her show they were talking about end times events and they were spot on in terms of sounding the alarm and you know all of the prophetic events that are occurring right now but then at the end and i posted it it's at the 50-minute mark you hear tom hughes say that when he gives the gospel that you have to repent of your sins turn from your sins and then surrender your life uh to jesus to be saved and it was like the record just scratching it just it was it was so sad for me to hear that because i think he's part of the calvary chapel system or i'm not i don't think he is a calvary chapel pastor but he's part of that system um at least his online presence and i always thought that he was a he was solid on the gospel clear on the gospel but it just goes to show you guys that you really need to make sure you know what the pastor or teacher whoever you're listening to what they believe about salvation because it was just a blatantly false gospel um he basically told people by when you say to somebody that you need to repent of your sins and turn from your sins and that you need to surrender your life to jesus that is like lord bordering on lordship salvation calvinist teachings um you know i left a comment that you know neither jesus nor any of the apostles or disciples ever told anyone they needed to turn from their sins repent of their sins or stop sinning or surrender their life to jesus to be saved the only requirement is faith alone in the finished redemptive work of jesus christ alone when jesus was asked how to be saved he said verily verily i say on you he who believeth in me hath everlasting life when the philippian jailer asked paul and silas what must i do to be saved i said believe on the lord jesus christ and thou shalt be saved it's just believing and for the life of me i can't understand how even grace self-professing grace preachers and teachers by the way jan markell did nothing to correct him nor did the other uh pastor who was on the and you can listen to it yourself i posted it on my community wall last night um and i just think people need to know what some of these self-professing grace preachers and teachers are are teaching hopefully he'll get clear on it i don't think he should be giving the gospel out until he gets clear on the gospel because the gospel doesn't believe in jesus and repent of all of your sins or turn from your sins and surrender your life to jesus no now you can't you don't even have the power because you don't even have the holy spirit in you to to turn from your sins through the power of the holy spirit because until you're born again you're not regenerated you don't have the holy spirit inside you convicting you into truth and righteousness who you are in christ so again these are pre-con these are preconditions and prerequisites for salvation that do not appear in the bible they are unbiblical and so again um i think that people just need to be aware of this you know and it's funny because in a lot of these churches they'll play these hymns these you know amazing grace and nothing but the blood of jesus and you'll be like wow so many of these songs are 100 biblical um christ alone my cornerstone um you know and many of these especially old older hymns and songs are so uh gospel-centric um unlike some of the newer songs like the one i'm listening to on the message right now half of them are good you know many of them are just kind of you know new age christian music but i still do listen to it it's channel 63 on siriusxm anyway my point is guys that just be careful and if you're in doubt go on the web page ask your pastor what do you believe about salvation i've done videos on this in the past and it's very important because it doesn't matter how much they know about the rapture it doesn't matter how much they know about prophetic events bottom line is if they get the rap if they get the uh the gospel wrong then it doesn't doesn't it everything else is just moved and um you know hopefully like i said before this isn't a slam against tom hughes or i don't even know tom hughes he's a pastor out in california um other people have said amir serfati as well has been you know you know there's there's there's some works involved in his message and it's funny i don't hear the gospel a lot from amir i don't know about you guys but i never hear the gospel you know if i were doing an hour show like jan markell did i would give the gospel out at the beginning in the middle and at the end just to make sure i covered all my bases with people tuning in and out some people don't listen to the entire message and so um but when the gospel was given at the end at the 50-minute mark go and listen to it for yourself again it was turn from your sins repent of your sins surrender surrender to jesus no that is now you're putting additional burdens and requirements on people no one can repent of all of their sins as i've said in many videos and by the way repenting of your sins is following the law we're not saved by following the law sin is transgression of the law repenting of sins is following the law we're not saved by following the law we're saved by trusting in the finished redemptive work of the eternally existing son of god god the son jesus christ yeshua hamashiach who left glory he was born of a virgin wrapped in flesh lived a perfectly sinless life and died for all the sins of the world every single sin ever committed or will be committed in thought action indeed his blood covered it all and the only thing we need to do is receive the free gift of salvation by faith by grace alone through faith alone in christ alone his finished redemptive work he gets all the glory he did all the work so hopefully this will encourage you guys um it's more informational than anything just be aware of who you're listening to and make sure they have it right on the gospel the gospel is the plum line jesus is the gospel he's the narrow gate it's christ that we're putting our faith in and nothing else not our water baptism not our speaking in tongues not our repenting of sins not our surrendering our lives to jesus it's none of that now a lot of these things we should do after we are saved as part of our discipleship and spiritual growth process as we grow and mature as we rest in god's grace as we grow in grace those are things that we should be doing in our lives by the power of the holy spirit but these aren't things that we are required to do to be saved we need to make it as easy as possible for people to get to heaven and the way to do that is by being very clear on the gospel and words matter you believe the gospel you're saved you've trusted that christ died for all of your sins was buried and rose again on the third day you are saved the very nanosecond you believe it you're sealed by the holy spirit which is the guarantee of your inheritance you're sealed until the day of redemption you're baptized by the holy spirit into the body of christ for all of eternity and you promised you will never be perished be plucked from the father's hand never be separated from the love that is in christ jesus you will never he will never leave you nor forsake you guys it's the best news ever we need to keep it simple we need to more importantly we need to keep it biblically accurate so that people hear it receive it and get saved all right guys love you see ya
