in this video I'm going to show you how to add a campaign banner to email signatures for a limited period of time now there are actually two ways to do this you can either have it replace your current version with a campaign version or you can add that campaign banner underneath your current signature so first I'll start by showing you how to replace it with the campaign version what we'll do is we'll clone the policy that we usually use for most of our signatures then we'll use a different template that has the campaign content on there the banner or the link or whatever we want then of course we'll add a date range so we'll define when it will start and when the campaign will end then I'll set the priority so that it does indeed replace our current version for that period of time lastly we're going to test it to make sure all that works then I'm going to show you how to add the content underneath your current signature that only works in signature manager outlook edition will create a campaign policy will choose the template that contains the campaign banner will add a date range and then we'll test it let's get started so this first one you can do in either product both in signature manager exchange edition and in signature manager out look at it so we're going to do here is I want to add this July promo template during the fixed period of time I wanted to replace that one during a date range i'll specify so we're going to do here is i'll just right click and click clone signature policy i'm going to enter a relevant name for it I'll just enter a little description to help explain for anyone else now what I want to do is go to template library and choose that signature I showed you the July promo template that's pretty much the same but the banner and the link are slightly different now I'm going to go and just make sure the conditions are all the same yep it's applying the same ad group I had before now let's set the date range so at the moment it's continuous but now I want to say it only applies during July so i'll go to july in the calendar tool here it'll start on the first July and end on the thirty-first of July great if I really wanted to I could even have an advance schedule where I'll specify for example the times of day that it's actually used and even the days of the week when it'll be applied so let's click out of there and go back to date range fine now I want to click this next policy tab so here what I want to do is just ensure that if this policy is applied then don't process anymore outlook signature policies so the software starts with the top policy works its way down so with this feature if this policy is applied it's not going to apply any policies under it now that's the template i want that's all set up the rules already the next thing i want to do before i save is just test it in the policy tester ok so in here i can enter all the potential details for a test message so it's from Robert here I'll send it to my test account just type in a subject do a message body to now in options i'll just set the date that will be sending this just to make sure it's testing for july so find 17th of july close that and i'll click run tests so here i can see the actual logic that my signature is put together with i can see that it's July promo policy in here it's date pattern does apply as you can see there it is during July so if i scroll down all the other conditions were met so when I click message perfect it's using that July promo policy excellent okay let's close this up and now let's try it again but now we'll do August so I'll go back to the policy tester just go to options and instead of July will do August click close i'll just change the subject for my own benefit and click run tests so we can see first of all the date pattern does not apply no it's not during that period so when i click ok and we scroll down we can see that it's now back to using that original version of the signature perfect so all click OK and Gunn save ok so that's how to replace your standard signature now let's go over to outlook edition we're uniquely you can actually have this ad content underneath using what's named a campaign policy it's a dedicated tool for managing campaigns and I'll just click new to create a new policy ok again I'll just names this something that's going to clarify what it's for I'll click Next just scroll down to where I have that template for this now remember I'm only going to add the banner the banner on its own that's because it's going to add the content underneath the signature you'll see in a second so I just want to add some rules here if you remember it was only applying to that particular ad group sales USA i'll click ok and next now here we set the date range so again it's just going to be from the first of July to the 31st of July click next and finish so I'll go up and I'll click Save so now open up outlook and I'll make sure that that's being applied so go up and I'll just open a new email so its up in there automatically perfect thanks for watching
