Hey guys today. I'm gonna show you how I upgraded my Universal Laser ULS Versalaser attachment to do cups and bottles without slipping The first thing you'll need is a hex key that matches the set screw in your cone attachment You'll need a keyless chuck, such as this 3/8" 24 replacement chuck from Jacobs. I found this one for about $12 on eBay. I bought powder coating plugs in assorted sizes. They can be found on eBay, amazon, and from powder coating suppliers. This plug is 3 1/4" x 4" and is for the 30 oz cups. This plug is 3" x 3 1/2" and is for the 20 oz cups. This one fits the 32 oz bottles and is 2 1/4" x 2 5/8". This one works for 18 oz bottles and is 1 7/8" x 2 3/16". You need a 3/8" 24 bolt for each keyless chuck you buy. I had to cut this one down to about one and a quarter inches because it was too long. Measure the inside of your plugs, and buy washers that just fit. The outer washers can be even bigger, so you have more stability. Mark the centers of your plugs. And make a hole the bolt will fit through very snugly. Put in the inner washer. Then run your bolt through with the head on the inside cup of the plug. Add another washer (nearly as large as the plug, if possible) to the back for stability. Thread the bolt into the threaded end of the chuck. Tighten it securely with a crescent wrench or socket wrench, preferably. Use your hex key to loosen the set screw on your cone attachment. Twist the chuck to tighten it onto the protruding rod. Make sure to jiggle a bit as you're tightening to ensure the chuck has grabbed the flat spot on your rod. Use blue putty on your concave attachment to keep the base end from slipping. If you guys have any questions, just let me know down in the comments!
