hi this is Todd with digis or in this video I'm going to show you how easy it is to assign code using our certificate utility here I have some unsigned applications that you can see are missing the digital signatures tab will be signing those using our certificate utility to show you exactly how easy code signing really should be let's go ahead and launch that tool and navigate to code signing tab highlight the cert you want click sign files add going to add to files and then take the defaults here which are to leave the time stamp in place which enables the signature to remain valid even after the assert expires and I'm not going to do kernel-mode code signing but it is an option if your cert allows for it click sign and we're done those files have now been signed and if we view the properties we'll see there is a digital signatures tab which now shows the certificate we just used you can also use the tool itself to verify the signature with the check signature tool select your file and here's a printout of the certificates used to sign the file and also the time stamp the tool is also very useful because it can be used to batch signature jobs so let me show you how that works all we need to do is open up a command prompt and then run the tool with slash question mark this will give us the syntax and switches available to us the syntax is digits or utility XE space sign and then you list your options and your files the cert will be chosen automatically unless you have multiple certs in which case you'll have to specify this sha thumbprint the sha-1 hash you can turn on kernel driver signing you can turn off the time stamp you can suppress any input and you can specify the file or files the files can be you can be listed using asterisks characters between each file name so if I wanted to sign this app 3 dot exe I would go and run digits err to XE I did sir util dot exe sign at 3 XE this is the input you can suppress tells you it succeeded but you can press ENTER to exit so if I wanted to suppress that input I'll just sign up for and to no input and it just immediately goes away we can see that app for was successfully signed and now I can show you how to match that job you do that by simply making a batch file I'm sorry making a batch file like this specifying the file locations and file names separated by the asterisks character so if I were to run this it will sign all these files which it did it would be useful to also put the no inputs which when doing this you can see that these are now all signed I hope you guys enjoyed this video if you have any questions at all about code signing or using the tool to sign code please give us a call send us an email or jump into chat we'd be glad to help out have a great day
