setting up your profile page to create your own beer backer page and start accepting gifts from the people that love what you do you'll first need to sign up as a creator if you already have a backer account you can convert that back her account into a creator account by clicking on the become a creator tab over in the left-hand window on the private account page alternatively if you're new to be a backer and you don't yet have a backer account you can sign up as a creator by clicking the link in the navigation bar at the top of the window after completing the registration form you might find yourself on the dashboard tab this is where you can view the analytics of your page such as page views and donation count you'll come back to this tab once you've started receiving tips from your viewers but right now we're going to head over to the Edit tab where we can start building our profile page building your page is simple and it only takes a couple of minutes all of this needed is to work through all of the fields on this page let's run through a quick example using this demo account that we set up under the name of Nick and Andrea Hills who happen to be real parts arm youtubers starting from the top left we have the opportunity to add a hero image and a profile image these images will appear on the profile page just as they appear here so it's important that the images you upload look fantastic in these cropped windows to add a hero image click on the element and upload the picture from your device you can also do the same for your profile image your vanity URL is the short URL that you'll use to promote your beer back a page and it's based on the alias that you gave us when you signed up if you're unhappy with it you can click here to have us change it for you your creator name is the name that will be displayed below the picture on your profile page be sure to use the name that people will recognize and relate to which of course isn't always your birth name below that you'll tell us what kind of content you're creating in this case Nick and Android hills are creating YouTube videos and in this drop-down you can tell us what sounds best is or our this text will also be displayed on your profile page below your name the next window down is where you add a welcome message use this space to briefly introduce your fans to your be a backup page tell them why you'd appreciate their support and if you have any funding goals in mind be sure to mention them too after all if your fans know that you're saving towards something like a new camera or microphone so that you can make higher quality content then there might be even more willing to help above the welcome message on your profile page you'll see a YouTube video this helps to reconfirm everything that you've written in the welcome message and while it's totally optional it's recommended because it adds a familiar face to the gifting experience below that is the opportunity to link to any social profiles or websites that you own and they'll be shown right here on your profile page moving up to the top right here this is where we have an opportunity to set up the template message for any donations that we do receive so when a fan leaves a donation they'll also leave a personal message when that message comes through to you the template text will automatically be entered into the response box but it won't send until you click the send button this is designed to help speed up your response time but it's your choice whether you use it or not below that is where you write your thank you message and this text is displayed in the last step of the gifting process after the payment has been received and finally below that is the option to add a thank-you video message that you've uploaded as an unlisted YouTube video now before we can publish the page we'll need to set up our payment method in order to receive any funds that our sends our way from backers and a very brief video of how to do that can be found on the payments tab
