Esigning startup business plan template
hey my name is Paul barosky and I am the owner of quality business plan and what I've done is I've taken a few minutes and I've compiled an example of what my basic business plan looks like and so what I'm going to do is I'm gonna go ahead and walk you all through the components of my business plan and briefly explain why I've got these components in the at my business plan all right and so the first section is going to be the cover page and with this section right here we just introduce your company the name of the company some kind of a logo and then at the bottom we can or cannot have the my name which is just the author of the business plan and that could be deleted not a problem second page is going to be your table of contents this just shows the reader what they should expect when they're reading throughout going throughout the business plan and then the third page is going to be the confidentiality statement this just tells a reader that if they're gonna read the document they can't tell anybody about your your private ideas about your business they've got to keep it confidential and then the fourth page is this is an optional page if you want this is the only thing I ask my clients to do is if they want to write up a statement as to why they started the business most of my clients there they're more than eager to write up the statement showing you know why they started the business their driving factors behind starting the business this is an optional page and this is just an example of what I've done why I started my tutoring business and then we've got the next page is going to be the executive summary my executive summary is a 16th version of the business plan this business plan is approximately 19 pages I've taken the important sections of each of the components of the business plan and I've broken it down just a few sentences from my executive summary it's absolutely critical when you're writing the executive summary not to introduce information that is not covered in the business plan so what I'd like to do is I'll go to my business plan and then I'll select a section of the business plan and then I'll copy it into the executive summary and then maybe reward it so it makes sense in the executive summary but I never ever ever add new information in the executive summary that is not in the business plan and the executive summary as always as it's written last so the executive summary is going to include the problem statement the company and the product target market competitive advantages financial highlights and funding how much you're looking for and then the next section is going to be company description here's a brief overview what the company is going to do where it's going to be located what kind of a businesses are going to be limited liability corporation social priors sole proprietorship or is it going to be a corporation from there we don't go into a product description you know what kind of services are you gonna offer competitive advantage how are you gonna be better than your competition briefly tuck a touch on your target market who is going to be your main audience and then the location again briefly identify the location and then what we'll do is we'll talk about your business objectives and your timeline the next second is going to be the market analysis and for the basic plan is a brief market analysis I'll just introduce the industry give about a paragraph of what's going on in the current events with the industry organization and management go right into this right here and this just tells us the job responsibilities you know with the positions of the company and pretty much what they do then we're gonna have our our marketing and sales and then at this section right here I just touch on no traditional social media website this right here is just telling the reader how are you going to advertise and for most businesses it's pretty much these three approaches this could be traditional social media and then you're gonna have a website I don't customize this information too much because it's pretty much straight forward for all businesses and funding the request and this is just a nice brief statement is how much you're looking for and where the money is going to be spent straighting the simple and here the next one this is one of my favorite parts my background is in finance so I'm a little crazy with my financials and so with my financials for the basic I do start with the assumptions I lay the groundwork as to where how we're coming up with the numbers so I just don't throw the financials out there and just say here's the numbers it's what we think how we have to lay a groundwork and that's what we do right here is we lay the basis where we're coming up with these assumptions for the financials and then firm the financials for the basic I put in here a one-year profit and lost twelve months and so here's the first three months and then here is the next three months and here's the third quarter and then what we'll have for the fourth quarter and the following that is going to be the income statement the income statements always going to start with the income it's going to start with the revenues cost of goods expenses and it's gonna end with the net income for each year for the next five years and then we have a balance sheet in the balance sheet just uses you know invested in fact a dollar amount what your inventory is going to be and what your payables are going to be and I just break that down into a monthly basis and then I have everything calculated into your balance sheet and that is pretty much it for the basic business plan I do advertise on my website that it's between 8 to 15 pages this one right here is approximately 18 pages and my financials just to give you a real quick idea what's going on with us I do not give these to my clients because this is proprietary but I also don't just make up my numbers so when I'm coming up with your financials what I do is I start with the daily sales what do we expect the daily sales are going to be then we put in the information of the labor how many employees are you gonna have then we include the startup cost the monthly fixed cost and once I change all these numbers it rolls into the profit and loss statement here and if there was if was another plan and have a second profit and loss and into the income statement and the balance sheet so once I customize this template right here for your business all we have to do is just change some numbers here and all the other financial statements roll over and the numbers change automatically alright so hopefully this is helpful I'm showing y'all what's going to be included in my business plan and I'd love to hear from you um please don't hesitate to give me a call or send me a text I look forward to working with everyone thank you
