here trust me i've won any years without it didn't have a good year went into years with it had a pretty good year so you need to have this in today's video i'm sharing my sales business plan for 2021 into my sales business plan it's important to note why i called a sales business plan and not just a sales plan that key word in there is business when you're a salesperson you have to view your work in your job as you're running a business you were a business owner when you have that mindset that you're going to run this like a business that's going to influence all your actions for the better in 2021 and shout out to mike weinberg the author of new sales simplified but this was the first sales book i ever read one of the all-time great sales books i'll put it in the description below i got the sales business plan template from his book you could also type in mike weinberg sales plan on google and it should pop up in google as well on the first page but you got to check this book out killer book and the sales plan that's what i'm using i'm going to share with you guys right now all right guys so now we're in my sales business plan as you can see it is built in microsoft word i present this sales business plan to my manager and the president of my company at the start of the year and then whenever i have a one-on-one or a quarterly review i will present this as well and this sales business plan it gets changed it's updated it's a very fluid document so i'm always updating this with my current activity on a monthly basis so let's get into it now if you see anything that's blacked out it's just i didn't want you guys to see it or has company information that is privileged so that is why that's there start we have a table of contents quickly run through that so at the start i made a mission and value statement so this is very important my mission is very simple work as hard as i possibly can while coming into work every day with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and i had a little bit more down here specific to the company that i left out because it's privileged but if i could come in every single day with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and i'm gonna work my ass off every single day that's what i do every day i know i'm gonna be successful if i do those little things right i'll be fine right and we'll have a lot of success in 2021 and then just my values consistency consistency with my cold calls consistency with posting content on linkedin that is relevant and entertaining for my buyer i'm going to hustle every single day creativity what am i doing to stand out from the crowd there's a lot of different sales people prospecting to the same people that i'm prospecting to what can i do to stand out that's going to be a big key thing for me in 2021 accountability right i got to be accountable every single day that's why i keep very detailed stats of my activity that's how i keep myself accountable and everything i do is on my outlook calendar right and then discipline if i do all of those things consistently throughout the year i'm going to be very successful so this is basically the foundation of my sales business plan for 2021 and if i do these things we'll have a good year we'll have a really good youtube video at the end of the year reviewing my success goals meeting targets end user meetings i want to average 10 conversion rate on my cold call so if i make 50 calls a day 250 calls a week that would be 25 contacts i should be able to get two meetings a week out of those calls now when i'm really ramped up and revving in 2021 i want this to be closer to 15 and it will be 15 right so it'll be two end user meetings booked a week with prospects who fit my ideal client profile these are prospects that are the decision makers at these companies they're not the office manager they're not the receptionist these are the decision makers who would sign on the dotted line so we have had a decent amount of success in 2020 in the past four months with highly personalized cold emails so with 30 to 40 emails sent a week we should be able to get at least one meeting out of those then obviously the creativity with the videos i'm going to show you guys a video on the cartoons that i use later in 2021 but really by april 1st 2021 we should be ramped up and we should be hitting at least at least 300 end user meetings a week and really ideally i think we're going to get up to five if we could do one end user meeting a day with my ideal client profile that'd be pretty killer networking meetings two per week with commercial real estate brokers and other vendors that can share information now you're gonna see this later on in my sales business plan but my main focus is end user marketing is getting in front of our end user a big mistake i made in a recent job past job was i focused more energy on building networking relationships because i thought if i built up a network those people could feed me leads and i neglected prospecting that's not happening here my main focus is prospecting if i'm not consistently hitting my activity goals and my numbers i won't be able to do this stuff revenue targets i want to sell 1.5 million in billings for 2021. it's a big number for 2021 especially what's going on with kova 19 in the industry that i work in but if i go back up here and consistently hit all my mission and values i there's no reason why i shouldn't hit that number sales activity so my activity goals for the company they gave me 1200 activities a month which would be about 54 total activities a day we're going to smash that out of the water in the past three to four months i was consistently doing over 100 activities a day that's not going to change in 2021 it might actually go to get up a little higher 50 cold calls a day 30 to 40 emails a day now it's important to note guys to hit 100 activities a day you need to have 80 activities planned in salesforce for that day you can't be finding people to call finding people to email finding people to send creativity create creative pieces too or linkedin messages to that stuff needs to be loaded in salesforce so when you open up your salesforce every single morning you have these things to hit and you just have to go through the motions and knock them off 50 calls 34 emails add five new accounts to salesforce a day so that would be 25 a week which is good always getting new fresh blood in there to call 20 pieces of linkedin content whether it's messages for video voicemail connect requests follows and that's going to be important for 2021 guys you're going to see my social media playing for 2021 i need to connect with as many prospects as possible because i'm going to be consistently posting relevant content that they might see and maybe down the road they're going to be like oh i remember that video in that shot on this we're having trouble with this let me call important stuff target market so i obviously live in philadelphia sit in the philadelphia office so my focus is greater philly we also have a greater los angeles office so in the afternoons i'll be spending a lot of my time calling on west coast companies nationwide work in 2021 we're going after companies throughout the entire country canada but mostly throughout the entire country nationwide portfolio type work fortune 500 companies well-known logos and then obviously life science pharmaceutical companies for my industry are doing very very very well especially during coving they're the only really companies in industry that's killing it right now so that needs to be my main focus because these are growing companies corporate projects at least to start at 2021 maybe get into education and healthcare as we move forward tools and software salesforce is the crm i use navigator i use this tool to gain intelligence on my prospect zoom info to get cell phone numbers guys cell phone numbers are so key in 2021 most people are working from home right it's hard to get people on the phone if you have direct dials or just office lines you need cell phone numbers in 2021 so you got to find a way to get them you got to find a way to get them i was paying for lead iq for the first three months i'm fortunate that my dad has zoom info so i go home on the weekends and use his account to find cell phone numbers but you need cell phone numbers in 2021 to have success with the cold calls if you don't have the cell phone numbers you won't have success it's gonna be very hard drift i'm using drift right now to record this video use this to send a personalized video message to my prospects canva i use canvas to create all the thumbnails for our youtube channel and also use it to create thumbnails for the video messages that i send to help them get opened serious insights this helps me track every email i send to see what's working what's not and then of course my company marketing use that one relevant prospecting strategy it's or multi-tactic approach multi-channel approach as you should say here cold calls bread and butter emails direct mail direct mail i haven't been sending direct mail just because most people are working from home but when that changes and people start to get back to the office this will be key video messaging text messaging now i haven't done a ton of text messaging but i think i'm going to try in 2021 i've sat in on some webinars sales webinars on how to use this and i think that i'm going to start experimenting with it in 2021 social media messaging creative outreach we're going to come out with a ton of videos about some creative crazy things i'm doing to get links in 2021 and then of course referrals networking if i get my prospecting activity done and i'm hitting my numbers then i can focus on the networking because guys listen i do not want to be cold calling as i don't want cold calling to be my primary source of leads and meetings in two to three years at all i want referrals and networking to be my bread and butter in three years right now where i'm at i need to pick up the photo cold call 50 times a day but you guys know this cold calling can be a brutal time consuming activity you need to do it i need to do it right now but come two three years from now this networking referrals that better be my bread and butter for bringing in business social media strategy so every tuesday and thursday on linkedin i will be posting a video these videos are going to be very short you know two to three minutes and they're gonna be about my industry questions or my prospects ask me on the phone questions my network ask me about what my company does they're going to be very very relevant to my ideal prospect i'm going to consistently post these videos every tuesday and thursday very simple videos but if i do that consistently back to my values consistency in six to eight months we should be getting some meetings off these videos along as i have to be connecting with these people on linkedin for them to see the videos but i i already have been doing that this will bring in business in six to eight months i have it already planned out just gotta start shooting the videos and start executing all my social media strategy networking as you can see this is not the party right now it will be down the road end user target and marketing will be so when i do have a networking strategy and i i am rolling the sales are coming in i will develop this out and present it to my manager and the president of my company weekly snapshot so i'm not gonna go through this in great detail guys but this is all built out in outlook so my outlook is completely mapped out so i know exactly what i should be doing every single day every single hour every single minute throughout the day but i just have this built in here so my manager can see and then obstacles to my success these are just some things that i need to work on in the next three months to really just rev up ramp up and get rolling with this company now that is my sales business plan like i said this business plan will change it's fluid i update it monthly i'll update it with my activity monthly as well so there will be an activity section as well so you can see every you know all my calls all my emails all of my numbers around activity will be built into the sales plan for 2021 when we start the year well this is my plan and i will reference this just about every single day to make sure i'm on task and on target so let's just quickly go through the table of contents again so you guys can build this out so you start with your mission and values go to your goals so i have a revenue goal then i have activity goals and why do i have activity goals because the activity goes push and generate me hitting my revenue goals activity is key and gold target market who i'm going after the type of industries size of companies stuff like that tools and software prospecting strategy social media marketing strategy networking weekly snapshot and obstacles to success now these things you're you might be thinking matt these are kind of like they're not really built built out all that much they're kind of generic these do get built out and have a lot more detail as the year goes on so we'll do an updated video of my
