hi guys Leslie here people in the group have been asking how can they get an affiliate disclosure above their blog posts so I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to try to show you two ways if I can get away with it without my kids coming in one of the ways to do it and I want you to think ahead here if you want it on every single blog post then you want to use a widget if you want it on certain blog posts like not every single blog post perhaps is going to have an affiliate link inside of it then I would use a shortcode err okay so both might require a plug-in depending on your theme shortcode or definitely requires a plug-in so the name of the plug-in is shortcode err okay short decoder it's really hard to say you're just going to go to Avenue okay and then just type in shortcode er right in here and then you want to go into your settings settings disclosure but you're going to need to create one okay so you here you're gonna give it a name and then right here is going to be where exactly you want it to to shortcode exactly like what do you want it to place into the blog post so in this case it's an affiliate to disclosure you can pretty much use short court shortcode or for anything that you want the I use it for affiliate disclosure and it's only a one and I'll go and show you it's called affiliate disclosure this is what it says here yeah I just wrote it on in there and it actually added the paragraph for me all I did was write that and then once you save it once you say that it's going to give you the short code name okay and that's going to pop up here you only need to copy this part right here and copy it and then that is gonna go where you want your affiliate disclosure to go so if you want your ability just closure to be at the top of every blog post say like this then your you don't wanna stick it at the top right there okay no I will tell you that if you put this here what's gonna happen is you're going to need to go into yo so foo you have that and change this meta tag description which hopefully you're doing that anyway but if you don't know what's gonna happen is when it posts on Facebook it's gonna say that it's gonna say whatever your shortcode says because Facebook picks up you know the first part of the text so you make sure you're feeling if you are using the shortcode er make sure you're feeling in your meta tag description so that that affiliate disclosure isn't the first thing that's being picked up by bot scraping the page okay I mean by like like Facebook or even your Google search results you wouldn't want it to say you know that in the return you want it to say something specific that's gonna lure them in so just change your meta tag description down here and then you won't see the affiliate disclosure verbage pop-up okay now another way to do it if you want it on every single blog post is to go into your widgets and I happen to have a Genesis theme okay so my most themes have some sort of ad space widget or some kind of widget above the blog posts let's take a look at one real quick where it's gonna pop up so this particular this is like an ad space you know some people put ads they don't have any ad centre that's what I use for my affiliate disclosure so all I did was go in here I drag a text box you know up to the widget which I don't need to do again okay that's what I did and then I went ahead and I just typed in my affiliate disclosure okay and I didn't put a title because they don't want it you know it's not a formal thing I mean its formal but it's not like I need a paragraph in a title and all that so all I did was just write it here hit save and then what it looks like is right here at the top of the post because on this blog every single post has an affiliate link in it whereas my other blog where I'm using the short quarter plug-in does not okay so if you have any questions please leave comments and the video notes are down below in the comments and I'll answer them and then if you like this please like and subscribe and thanks a lot
