in this episode I'm going to show you how to create a Facebook catalogue a Facebook catalogue is basically a big file of your inventory with data such as images description sizes and much more a catalog can be used in a few different ways across the Facebook platform for example to create dynamic ads and to showcase your products in ads and posts so let me show you how to set it up so what you want to do next is that you want to go to your left hand corner and you want to go to assets and catalogs here you want to click create the catalog here you choose which category best describes your business so you can use a catalog for e-commerce travel real estate and auto so there's many different options but I want to go ahead and choose ecommerce because we're in the e-commerce clients you can either choose to upload your product information or to connect an e-commerce platform so this automatically imports the products from your ecommerce platform and you can choose from these options so shopify bigcommerce really card Magento open card sordin newcomers here you select who owns this catalogue and if it doesn't belong to a business select personal but what we want to do is that we want to go ahead and upload our product information manually so we will be using the form so a data feed and connect it with our pixel so what you want to do is select who owns it and you want to name your catalogue so we'll name this catalogs products 19 now the catalog has been created so what we want to do is that we want to view the catalog so basically this is the shell of the catalog so what we want to do is that we want to add some products so because this product doesn't have any products yes so click Add product here you get three options add manually use data feeds or connect it with a Facebook pixel so this this option so connect with the Facebook pixel is if you have the pixel install on your website and it updates the products in your catalog each time someone visits them so this is recommended for more than 50 products that get updated hourly or daily you can use a data feed so this means that you upload the data file containing the product information and this is also recommended for more than 50 products and for donor for running dynamic ads you can also fill in the products manually so you fill in a simple form for each product that you want to add to your catalog this is recommended if you have less than 50 products or you're just getting started with catalogs so what I would do is that I would use data feeds go next here you upload your data feed file so what you want to do is that you can download a CV CSV template or you can follow the step by step guide so what we want to do is that we want to create the name for it you want to select the default currency so it will be Swedish crowns and we want to set automatic file upload schedule so this is recommended if your inventory changes regularly so you can set the schedule and do whatever fits your needs or you can upload the file manually this is recommended if your inventory barely changed so then you need to do it manually and this will automatically do it for you so this is what I recommend especially if we're in e-commerce and we're selling our commodities quite fast so here you will type in the data feed URL and if your data field if your data feed URL requires login details then you enter them here here as I talked about before you set the automatic file upload schedule so hourly daily weekly I normally do it daily and so one it fetches the new inventory once once every day or you can automatically upload new versions when the new version is detected so hourly daily or weekly and then you could start upload so we now created the catalog and we're in the catalog manager this is the place where you see all the catalogs linked to your account as you can see we've got two catalogs in here one which has no issues and this is the one we just uploaded and one which has error in it so I created this second catalog just to show you what it looks like when there's an error and you click on this and you get to the diagnostic part so these errors must be fixed before you can use your calc in this case the upload failed so you need to upload it again and make sure there are no issues if you get the no issues you're good to go so have fun
