this is an update video for the 2022-2023 application cycle this is me on my pt cast dummy account that i have so i can be looking at the same um ptcas windows that you guys are looking at so by far one of the number one questions i've been getting with the start of this new cycle the 2022-2023 application cycle is where the heck are the references because they used to always be found in supporting information it would be down here you would enter your references and you would send off your reference requests and that's one of the first things i recommend that people do but they're not in the area where they used to be so where do they go after doing some digging i found that they are located in the program specific area okay the program materials section of the application so if you under here references okay jim bob is a pretend physical therapist that i uh send to my own um gmail account my patapco gmail account so to give you guys an example of what this looks like okay so i have the same reference request being sent out to angelo state northern arizona university regis university and university of nevada las vegas or unlv okay some common things i would like to point out here is every program is going to be different with their breakdown for what they're looking for in their references so this system what happens is for each program you are going to send out an individual reference request so even if you're sending it to the same physical therapist you are going to send out if i'm applying to four different programs you're going to send out four different reference requests all to the same physical therapist to fill out as this says right here please note all references submitted within this section of your application are program specific okay so back in the day you would submit four or five references and regardless of what the reference request the reference request requirements were for that school they would see all of your references um i don't know what warranted this change but now schools want to be a little bit more targeted and specific with the references that they're asking for or that they're getting to see okay so for this program they want two from licensed pt's and one from a professor or supervisor boss okay another thing that's very important that you are going to be sending out a lot of emails because i'll show you guys this in a second to show you the back end but with every reference request you send out there's going to be another email sent out to your reference request saying hey i need this is another program i need you to complete a reference request for so make sure that you're following up with your reference request to see if they got the...
