[Music] whenever i arrived at the university 14 years ago they were doing everything by paper it was basically scanned in on all three campuses uh on the residential campuses that was a challenge but it wasn't undoable whenever i went to our worldwide campus which has approximately thirty five thousand head count students there was a room full of paper and i saw me i said wow we need to do something here to alleviate this and of course the administration was 100 behind me they said yeah we need to go online with this process prior to evaluation kit we were doing pdf files that were sent to us we couldn't manipulate it in any way [Music] we implemented evaluation kit in the spring of 2019 and our implementation during our pilot was seamless it was very easy to create our specific course survey in the system we were able to share that survey out to all of our students and the students were able to go in seamlessly and create their responses our response rates increased significantly from our previous semester we were able to then turn around and share the results with the faculty almost immediately after grades were posted for the semester so that they could spend the summer analyzing looking at the new reports that they received [Music] well from the beginning it was we have used course evaluations for faculty evaluations but not so much in the actual assessment we used those reports to enhance and to support our program reviews and then would you incorporate that into accreditation um reaffirmation reports that we would prepare self-studies now we're actually moving into a new area where we're using those reports we're actually using the eval kit to bring in indirect assessments so we have lots of direct data from student artifacts rubrics exam scores so we can show that as observable observable learning that our students have done but then being able to take the indirect on the same outcome to see how our students feel are they confident in what they've learned in those courses or those programs and be able to make that connection not only are we showing it in their work but also in their confidence as they're in school and as they leave school as graduating students alumni [Music] you
