hello in this video we're gonna show you very quickly how to create a custom currency sign for your Access database because normally it takes the currency format of your system for example if you're using a u.s. system it'll give you dollars maybe it might give you a euro as well if using a British symbol British computer you might have the pound symbol etc let's assume you work in multiple different currencies so you just open up a Access database over here we're just gonna create a currency type that's fine as you can see it starts off as a dollar you can change the format to maybe a euro but we're not gonna do that what we are actually gonna do is give a custom field format to it okay so let's just change this give it a title and then over here in format get rid of currency and now you need the symbol okay let's say Indian rupees okay so go to Google try and find a little symbol which is easier rather than trying to find the code for it okay and then just paste it in paste that in then give it a space and then we have a number sign number sign and then a comma and we can have shall we say another two just keep using the wrong key there we go and then have it as the default starts off at a certain number now you can have the decimal places as auto it will round things up on the screen or you can choose a number from the drop-down by going over here and it'll give you how many decimal places you want shown okay so now all we need today go back to our view and as you can see you've got a rupee in there and the default was there let's make this a hundred or a hundred thousand and press ENTER and we've got black sheet a dozen so next one zero there we go and that's a that's a simple way of how to get a custom currency symbol hope this has helped thank you for watching
