hello friends in this lab we will see how to inject a default route into the rib protocol so there are basically five different ways to do this first one is using the summary address second thrilled redistribution third using the default information originated command fourth is default originated command with the route map and the fifth is using the conditional route map we will we will study all these five different methods and before that there are four steps which we need to follow and what are those we will enable drip on all the four rooters second is we will create a scene on route over this one and stop advertising the default route to r4 so armful we can assume in our topology is our ISP so r1 r2 r3 is our and under administration we will create a default route on router one pointing towards next or 1400 for so on our one when we use summary attribute distribution default information originated command using all these five methods the default route which we have on our one doubting table that will be advertised to outer to and outer three ok so as we have representing between now r1 and r2 this default riod route will also go to router for so what we want to do is we will create an ACL on outer one and stop advertising default route to router for if we have a default route on outer for as well as an author for router one it will create a loop in our network so we need to make sure that we just have default route on router one and specific routes on router for so router for should receive all the routes of router one router 2 and router 3 step T is router for should not advertise its network to router 1 so these two networks offer for network these are these should not be advertised to router 1 and hence router 1 will not advertise it further to doctor to and outer 3 so from router 1 we can reach to these networks using the default route therefore router 2 and outer three they will also will be able to just reach these two networks using the default route so this configuration of all the topology and the all these default route methods I have are done the configuration in the notepad and I will this configuration in the video description you can check this configuration over there so these are the router for rip configuration and from here on I have done the default route configuration of all different five methods okay so we will go all these by all these methods one by one so I am going to start first of all with this basic configuration on all the four rooters starting from logger one configuration okay so this command was rejected we need to see why was that rejected we missed to copy interface serial 1/0 let's do this one more time it looks perfect this time let's copy the configuration of out of two now it's time for our three configuration copy go to no.23 now let's do it over for configuration and done come back to doctor one should i pit out on note or to show IP route rip on outer three show IP route rip so no two three we are getting our one routes are two routes and these are the router four routes and we are getting this on router 2 as well so as for the step let's go about and see an able rip on all the routers which we have done that now create an ACL on r1 and stop advertising the default route to r4 first of all we need to have a default route first in the routing table of r1 the force advertising it ok so right now we don't have any default route on daughter 1 let's create one IP route and 1400 4 is our ISP through IP address in our case router for now let's check the routing table again on outer one is the routing table can we paying 1400 for yes we can okay now we actually I was doing sure I peed out grip okay so that's why that's why I was not able to see this world because this is a static route okay so should I peel out rip we won't see this either we can do show IP route static we will see this alright we can do the proper complete command show IP route and we will see this default route now when we go to router for in the routing table of r4 we will see this default route not now because we haven't used this default information originated okay so let let hold on for this step okay and before that I want to show you that how router for receives and default route using this default information originate command which is the step which is the third method let's go to router one and in trip configuration type default information originated okay now let's see on outer - we receive the default route okay and outer three we have received the default route on router for we have a see the default route like I said before our router for is an ISP we should not send this default route to them and that's why we should block it on router one let's do that before creating an excess let's make sure you don't have any excess list so we already have to access list one and ten let's create access list five and stop sending the default route two out of four and permit everything else go to trip configuration use distribute list five out CL 1 by 0 okay so we have called five number XS list in this distribute list and we have stopped advertising updates via interface 11/0 let's check the XS list 5 so in the deny we have got one match and the permit statement we have got 13 matches earlier the IP route table but let's go back to router for check the routing table now show IP route rate this time we should not receive the default route right which we have achieved but we are still getting router 2 routes and outer three routes because we created a permit statement in the XS list right so come back to of a notepad so I was referring to this point create a seal in r1 which we have done just now and stop advertising default router router for now router for should receive all routes of r1 r2 r3 which we have seen that are for should not advertise its network router 1 so router for are having two connected routes for 4 1 0 4 4 2 0 this will be received by router 1 which it has because we have enabled rate between outer one and dr4 so as router 2 and so as router 3 we do not want to receive these networks from ASV ok so what we need to do is go back to router for in the conflict mode before creating excess list check we don't have any excess list ok so you can see that I have already created one excess list number 2 and I have called these two networks okay so those are being denied okay let me see your access list counters so it's just list okay so these counters are now removed okay now there are no any counters I am going to apply this excess list under the rip configuration using distribute list call the excess list number which is two in our case out 0 1 by 0 we do not want to send these updates let's check access list the other routing table okay so we have got one match in the access list go back to router 1 ok so we are not receiving these networks which are behind outer for anymore on after 2 we have the routing table ok it looks perfect over here let it out in table on our router 3 check the routing table ok so if we think now we should be able to ping because we have a default route in the routing table ok which I'm going to remove now from rip configuration because I'm going to do step by step okay just remove this command now let's check the first method of using this summary address okay on doubter one we have a we have this default router in our routing table we are not advertising right now default route to router for okay we don't see any default route here let's go to router 3 and see if we have default route here no because I remove the default information originate command now I'm going to do our first method which is summary address over here IP summary rip and hit enter okay the summary address this is our first method now go to router - ok so you can see that we have got the summary address default route using the summary address on auto 1 now if we pink with the repeat count of $9.99 we can pink okay because we have default route as soon as I remove this summary this paint will lost it's not right now because it takes some time let me clear it out in cable on outer one and you can see that we have started receiving you which is unreachable we are still pinging why let's check let's check that on all three we are still receiving default route clearly routing table just look at this counter it's 37 seconds it should not happen at any cost this update must refresh before 30 seconds okay so we don't have a fault route and on our one sorry on our two why are two is still able to reach default Network because you know the invalid timer of rep is three minutes one minute three minutes which means 180 seconds which is not that good without the routing table so that this entry can be removed from the routing table okay we don't have default route anymore now initiate the ping again come back to the outer one let's look at the second method redistribution okay so we know that we have a static route as a default route in routing one also one routing table go to rip configuration just type this command redistribute static and that's it come back to router - you can see that we have regained restore the connectivity come back to the outer one they move the smaller distributed static come back to router - okay we have lost the connectivity it looks perfect now let's look at the third method which is the default information originated okay how to use it on them on the edge router which is connected to the ear is p-type here default information originated come back to router two and we have restored the connectivity all right now now let's look at the method number four of injecting default route into the protocol so we have lost connectivity again because we do not have default route on after - and router three so the fourth method is default information originated with route route map I have already done the configuration of all these four methods down there so the fourth method says we should have a default route pointing to the isp create one route map name it anything you like set the interface and come out of the route map and the dip configuration use this command I cannot do this practical on my lab reason being this method says we are using Delta map okay and in the South map we can set an interface in my case I have a broadcast Ethernet interface so for example from router one I want to send a default route to doctor to but not to doctor 3 in this case we can use router math and name it only router to set interface just assume this was point-to-point link okay not internet so the link which was going to router 2 was 0 1 / 0 and - doctor 3 0 - / 0 so I could see see del 1 / 0 over here come out of it in the RIP configuration call this route map so we would doctor - would excuse me router 1 will advertise default route to router 2 only okay so hope you get this let me mention this again so I will give this configuration in the video description let's look at the fifth method default information originated with the conditional route map so this this lab we can do in our scenario so we have a default route according to router for so the condition is r2 r3 will receive default route until loop at one interface of outer one is up so we will shut down the interface of for router 1 which is loop at 1 and we will see that default route from rotating router 3 sorting table will disappear so if we unshut the loopback one interface of router 1 the connectivity will reach to another - router 3 let's check this practical so we will create this route map we will create this access I'm going to copy paste on router 1 Mushu access list to clear counters access list [Music] okay so the no counters anymore in excess Lester one show routes map the route map is condition R one loop at one underscore up go to configuration under the grip use this default information originated called the route map with the route map name and the name of the route map is this okay let me see what's going on outer -
