hi there and welcome in this quick video we're going to take a look at how to set up an electronic signature in WordPress in about five minutes in this video we're going to set up the very most basic electronic signature as quick as possible and then you can add to it from there and you'll understand how it works step one is to get the plug-in installed in WordPress go to plugins add new search for swift signature click install now next click activate this is going to pop up and ask if you want to auto create some pages I do recommend that you do you can easily delete them at any time but they're a great starting place so go ahead and click yes next go to pages now before we mess with this new page that just got created and which is our actual contract we need to set up the webform so that's step two in our process we need to create a web form within swift cloud i/o and more specifically the rules for what's going to happen after signature typically we return the user back to your website but can trigger you can trigger automation such as autoresponders open a helpdesk ticket you can open a CRM transaction or update the status on a CRM transaction that kind of thing for those who are using swift cloud other services for now what I want you to do is go down here to thanks and specifically if you have a PC just right-click on this and what we need to do is copy the URL so we're going to copy that URL notice that in the very bottom left that says sign - thanks so it's your site comm forward slash signed thanks all one word is the current URL and that's based on your permalinks and stuff like that we don't know what that's going to be for you whatever this page is go ahead for now and click the URL next what you need to do is get logged into swift cloud so go to swift cloud dot IO go ahead and click login in this case I'm just going to log in with Facebook and go to web forms go ahead click on add new demo video tests I'm going to give this a name of just demo video test these fields don't really matter because we're going to edit the fields within WordPress so which fields are present in this form on the word on the swift cloud side don't matter so in this case I'm going to leave all of this as is and what going to do is add a tag called test tag just hit tab and I'm going to leave this too thank you confirmation this is what's going to happen after the signature is completed so I'm going to go here and I'm going to control V notice this is that URL that exists on your site now I don't know what that is it depends on your permalinks if you do not have permalinks it might be P equals 18 right page ID something like that so wherever you want the person to go after they have signed your document put that information in here as I stated we're going to set up just the bare-bones most basic version but you can later I recommend set up additional services if you choose to do that you can even post it to a remote CRM for example that kind of thing you can trigger autoresponder sequences you can do event marketing which would be typically used for like RSVPs or somebody paid high in contract or something like that wanted to schedule their first call CRM allows you to update the status of a CRM deals tasks and help desks that would open a transaction go ahead and hit save form and what we need to do is note the the number of the form in this case it is five five seven we're going to need that number so go to five five seven and what we want to do is now go back to WordPress click on e sign Y alright which will be your actual esign document you can of course rename this Andry or l this but for now just let's get the basics set up and working go to five five seven we've got to replace that number with your form ID that you just generated this click get code this number has to go into this space right here all of these we've given you some a good starting place and we've added a short code generator to your wordpress now note if you're using some of the fancy tiny codes systems that generate bootstrap codes and stuff like that you may not see this short code generator we recommend at least at first just to get the basics working using the basic version of WordPress if you're using tiny MCE and stuff like that it may work and may not we don't know the short codes definitely do but what we recommend is create a simple page generate all the short codes and then you can copy the short codes into any other system and as long as there's no interference of the short codes everything will work just fine this is where you replace the agreement with anything you want and if you want to add some fields then you can certainly do that right here just add let's say a text box in this case we'll call it some other field placeholder of hi there this will disappear we do not want to make this required but we could and all it does is generate the shortcode for you so that you don't have to remember we do have a bunch of different types of short codes as you can see here and I encourage you to just play with it and you'll see sort of just set up your contract and paste it note if you are pasting from word that word Microsoft Word will often use strange characters so typically we see this with quotes for example word press oft word has non HTML characters embedded in it so you may want to if you have any problems check the text if you're tech savvy and know how to edit HTML you may want to if you have any problems we encourage you to check that with we're over time getting more and more those special characters into our parser so we can handle them regardless anyway in this case we're going to just go ahead and update page should now be working and it should be assignable contract we wanted to make the signature larger we could have a signature and we want large we'll go to medium update X let's open the page this is an email this is required this is required for all signers at this time so put in test and here's the actual signature I could put in this in this case I could also just type in and just select a font based one if I wanted to notice it does that for both if I want to erase that just put something like that this is more text and just hit sign it sent this is the page on your site that we have returned them to notice it greeted them by name that's a shortcode as well so next what we want to do is go into Swift cloud to see your document that got signed and we want electronic signatures as reciever anything you've signed would show as signer bimah by me and here's the actual document okay here's an example of the PDF we are continuing to refine this and make it smoother and so we'll see improvements with that over time we also do have electronic signatures working on the swift cloud side for more advanced functions and you can bundle multiple documents into what we call an envelope that's typically used for let's say a hiring
